It’s been a few months since Dia Frampton was named the runner-up of NBC’s first season of “The Voice.” The Team Blake Shelton finalist was just shy of first place by less than 2% between herself and Javier. We caught up with Dia, and her equally as talented and lovely sister Meg, to get all the details on their lives after The Voice, the new album, robots, why people on the internet are mean, if Meg would ever consider trying out for a new season of “The Voice,” and if it’ll be Dia Frampton or Meg & Dia touring with Blake Shelton on his 2012 “Well Lit & Amplified” tour starting in January. See if your questions made the cut below.
Dia also reveals to us her new album release date and title, her single, and the details on a song she recorded with Blake Shelton.
Blake Shelton just released the full list of dates for his first leg of his “2012 Well Lit & Amplified” tour. The tour kicks off January 14th in Toledo, Ohio at the Huntington Center, and finishes March 17th in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. For a full list of tour dates see below.
Joining Blake on tour is “Bait A Hook” singer Justin Moore and Blake’s finalist from the first season of the Voice, Dia Frampton.
Blake Shelton announced his headlining tour to his BS’ers fanclub this morning, and can you guess the name he chose? Blake will embark on the “Blake Shelton: Well Lit & Amplified 2012 Tour” starting in January. He’ll visit 27 cities, with three dates announced today and more to be announced in the coming weeks. Joining Blake on tour will be Justin Moore and Team Blake finalist from The Voice, Dia Frampton.
Three cities announced so far are: Jan 26th – Columbus, Ohio – Columbus Civic Center; February 24th – Reading, PA – Sovereign Center; and March 14th – Reno, Nevada – Reno Events Center. He’ll kick off the tour in Toledo, Ohio, and finish in March in Las Vegas.
Blake’s tour will include special VIP packages that will be available to his fan club members.
The answer might surprise you. Months after the first season of The Voice has ended, who would have thought that Blake Shelton would still be in regular contact with his contestants from Team Blake? After Blake was the one to give both Xenia and Dia Frampton the confidence they needed to make it to the top two of his team, he now credits Dia with giving him the passion to record music again, Taste Of Country reports. What other reality competition judge or “coach” would stay in contact after so long?
“I still keep in touch with both of them,” Shelton tells Taste of Country. “I talk to both of them a couple of times every week. I really embarrass Dia a lot — still — to this day. Every time I see her, I just gush over her. I’ll start drinking and get drunk, and send her these sappy emails about how she made me excited about music again and I love her. She’s always [replying back with] ‘Thanks …’ [laughs].” – Blake to Taste of Country
It’s great to see that someone generally cares about the people he meets on a reality singing competition. The Voice returns for a second season on NBC right after The Superbowl next year. Good luck Blake!
Even after The Voice’s first season has been long over, coach Blake Shelton is still there for his team. Dia Frampton, the second place runner-up of the whole show, was the last remaining member of Team Blake Shelton on The Voice. Looks like she’s been writing in Nashville with her coach since then. Is it for her own album? A friends? Or just something for fun between the two of them? I’m sure we’ll find out some day, but I’m really interested in the song just by title alone.
We’ll be seeing Blake Shelton live at the CMT Music Festival next week in Oro Station, Ontario. It’ll be my first time seeing the crazy Oklahoman live. Any advice for me to survive this encounter?
She might not be country, but she is the most talented finalist left on NBC’s The Voice. The last remaining member of Team Blake Shelton, Dia Frampton will perform an original song tonight on the live finals. With her breath-taking and original performances of Kanye West’s “Heartless” and REM’s “Losing My Religion,” us here at Keepin’ it Country Blog are picking Dia to win it all tomorrow night, and giving team Blake the bragging rights of winning the first season of The Voice.
Miranda Lambert will perform a duet with Dia tomorrow night; Brad Paisley joins Blake Shelton for “Don’t Drink The Water” tonight. Blake will also perform with Dia tonight; and their duet will hit iTunes after the show airs. Each iTunes download counts for a vote for the artist, up to ten times per account.
Good luck tonight Dia & Blake!
Tomorrow night is the final performance for Blake Shelton’s Dia Frampton, the last remaining member of Team Blake from NBC’s new hit tv show, The Voice. While the season has been highly entertaining, from the coaches bickering back and forth and to the original performances by the contestants, it all comes to an end Tuesday and Wednesday night’s results show.
Dia Frampton, of the sister band Meg and Dia, is expected to perform with Blake Shelton and his wife, Miranda Lambert, on Tuesday night’s show. Each finalist gets two performances: one duet with their coach, and one solo performance. Fans can vote through iTunes purchases after the airing Tuesday night, as well as through the 1-800 numbers provided during the show, and online at NBC.com/thevoice.
Dia has previously covered REM’s “Losing My Religion”, and Kanye West’s “Heartless” on the live episodes of the show. Her and former team-mate, 16 year-old Xenia, also joined their coach Blake for a performance of his two week #1 single, “Honey Bee” on last week’s show.
Did you know that she’s covered Taylor Swift, The Band Perry and Rascal Flatts in the past? Before The Voice ever happened, Dia was a part of her sister and best friends’ band, Meg and Dia. See her cover of Taylor Swift’s “Mean” below the cut.
What do you think? Do you think Dia will win the show this week?
The secret “surprise guest” of Blake Shelton’s tweet last night has been revealed: and it’s none other than his lovely wife, Miranda Lambert. Each finalist gets a solo performance and a duet performance with their coach; so there’s a chance that Dia Frampton will actually get both Sheltons in her performance Tuesday night.
Lambert has been supportive of Team Blake behind the scenes; giving his team members a journal earlier on in the competition for songwriting; and sent flowers to Dia Frampton after Wednesday night’s results show.
It’s been a joy watching my husband grow so attached to his team. Truthfully, I am a little jealous that I am not a coach myself. I can’t wait to be a part of it,” she said. – sacbee.com
Lambert won a Grammy award earlier this year for “The House That Built Me”.
The other three contestants are Javier Colon (team Adam), Beverly McClellan (team Christina), and Vicci Martinez (team Cee-lo). The winner of the reality tv show gets a recording contract and $100,000.
Who do you think is going to take home the prize next week?
