Dee Jay Silver

In today’s music, it is common to hear a remix of some of your favorite songs; even heartfelt power ballads have turned into dance hits with the help of some of music’s most talented DJs. And just when you thought DJ’ing couldn’t become anymore unique, enter Dee Jay Silver, the first DJ to be signed to a major Nashville record label. Dee Jay has played in premier venues in virtually every major market in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, but has ultimately found his home in Nashville. Whether he is touring with Jason Aldean and playing in sold out stadiums, performing on the American Country Awards, or remixing the work of some of country’s best known artists, Dee Jay is bringing his talents to the fans of country music in a myriad of ways. Dee Jay took some time out of his day of “bad television” while he recovered from the ACAs in Las Vegas to talk with me about his music, his favorite tour stop to date, and his future plans (which included getting back to Nashville stat!).

DVR Alert: Kelly Clarkson’s Cautionary Christmas Music Tale

Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale

Try saying that title three times fast!

As you have probably seen advertised recently (during The Sound of Music, The Voice, or a myriad of other NBC specials), Kelly Clarkson is bringing some of her best assets to the network for her Cautionary Christmas Music Tale. Specifically, Kelly will bring her talent, sense of humor, and impressive cast of characters in her life to a television audience.

During this special, Kelly presents the brattiest possible version of herself (“Scrooge, diva’d out,” she calls the character) while trying to enlist celebrities to appear in a Christmas special. “We’re doing a show within a show, kind of like White Christmas,” Kelly says. “Let me tell you this, though … it’s nowhere near that good. I love what we’ve done, but that’s a classic.”

Kelly’s show will feature musical performances from mother-in-law, Reba McEntire, along with Trisha Yearwood, both of whom appear on Kelly’s Christmas album Wrapped in Red. The show will also include cameos by Jay Leno, Matt Lauer, Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, William Shatner, Danica Patrick, Heidi Klum, Community‘s Ken Jeong and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy‘s Jai Rodriguez will make appearances. Oh, and did we mention Blake Shelton … as an elf?

This will be an event that Kelly fans and country fans will not want to miss! Tune in to NBC or set your DVRs tonight for the 10:00pm EST airing of Kelly Clarkson’s Cautionary Christmas Music Tale! And check out some behind-the-scenes footage of the special, featuring Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton:

Miranda Lambert’s “Fastest Girl In Town” Video Coming Soon!

What better way to portray the video for “Fastest Girl In Town” than to include NASCAR driver Danica Patrick?

“Danica was the person I thought of immediately when I envisioned the video. We had so much fun playing two bad ass chicks up to no good,” she laughs. “Danica has a really busy schedule, and I’m thrilled she was able to take time to come to Tennessee and be a part of this.”

Also along for the ride is famed actor W. Earl Brown, co-star of HBO’s Deadwood and upcoming film The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp. Among over 90 films to his credit, he is well-known for his role as the brother of Cameron Diaz in There’s Something About Mary. “Earl is a true character, and he brings so much charisma and authenticity to his scenes,” tells Miranda.

Directed by CMA Award winner Trey Fanjoy, “Fastest Girl In Town” is completely narrative; it’s the first Miranda video with no vocal performance scenes. “I really get to act in the video. We have live sound and action scenes which feel more like a mini-movie than a music video,” shares Miranda.

Stay tuned to us here at Keepin’ It Country…we will post the video as soon as it comes out!
