Exclusive Interview: Craig Campbell

Craig Campbell first appeared on the country scene with the song ‘Family Man,’ that was about working hard just to provide for your family. But, the long hours and sometimes little pay being worth it when you get to look into the eyes of your wife and your family. His newest single, ‘Fish’ is a fun, up-tempo song about finding out that your girl loves to fish and wants “To do it early in the morning and in the middle of the night.” I got to recently talk to Craig over the phone and ask him about his songwriting, touring and the time he got to meet Alan Jackson. Here’s a heartwarming video for your Wednesday morning. Craig Campbell recently held multiple radio and CMT contests based on his single “Family Man,” where he’d pay the rent for a year or bills for a month for families during the economic crisis. It’s another reason to be proud of country music these days. We have the YouTube footage of Craig meeting the families and explaining why the contest was so important and meaningful to him.

Looks like Australia is going to have one heck of a party next year. Hot on heels of the announcement of Faith Hill and Tim McGraw’s first performance together outside of North America, CMC Rocks the Hunter released part one of their lineup for the 2012 festival. Dierks Bentley, Eli Young Band, Craig Campbell and Colt Ford have all been added to the all-star lineup with more performers to be announced at a later day. Wish we could go!

CMC Rocks the Hunter 2012 will take place March 16th to the 18th at Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley. It’s an annual country music festival in Australia, which has included superstars Alan Jackson, Taylor Swift, Sugarland, Joe Nichols, Gary Allan and Jack Ingram in past years.

Tickets can be purchased now, and they even have a payment plan to pay off the tickets in monthly payments. There will be a camping site set up for fans, and the entire festival will take place on three stages over three days. Faith and Tim will close out the whole festival on Sunday evening.
