CMA Music Festival Adds Artists to 2013 Lineup

Nashville’s yearly CMA Music Festival has just added more fabulous country stars to this year’s lineup at LP Field! Gary Allan, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Kelly Clarkson, Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes, Miranda Lambert, Jake Owen, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, The Band Perry, Keith Urban and Zac Brown Band are the artists just announced, adding to previous lineup of Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town.

“We have an amazing lineup of talent for this year’s Festival,” said Steve Moore, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “I know our fans will be entertained and enthralled to see our annual family reunion of the best and brightest performers in the industry.”

This years fest will take place on June 6-9 in downtown Nashville, TN. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com, 1-800-745-3000, or 1-800-CMA-FEST (262-3378). Ticket prices range from $135 – $350 plus fees.

Brad Paisley Honored By ASCAP

Last night, to kick off Country Music Association (“CMA”) Awards week, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (“ASCAP”) recognized the most successful songwriters of 2012 during an awards ceremony at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. During the ceremony, Brad Paisley received one of the biggest nods of the evening, being named ASCAP’s Songwriter/Artist of the Year. Brad was honored for his hit songs “Camouflage,” “Old Alabama,” and “Remind Me.”

Ben Hayslip was awarded Songwriter of the Year for his co-writing efforts on Blake Shelton‘s “Honey Bee,” Luke Bryan‘s “I Don’t Want This Night to End,” Martina McBride‘s “I’m Gonna Love You Through It,” and Craig Morgan‘s “This Ole Boy.” Other honors also went to Dierks Bentley, David Nail, and Darius Rucker. And, as a surprise, the King of Country, George Strait, showed up to pick up an award as well.

Chevrolet has been a partner with CMA for seven years, and with the 2012 CMA Fest wrapping up and summer in full swing, Chevrolet strives to continue to look for ways to support the music their clientele enjoys. Accordingly, Chevrolet has launched a music initiative, Official 2012 Chevrolet Fan Anthem, where country music fans contribute to a crowd-sourced country song compiled through daily fan submissions on Facebook. “CMA Country Christmas” to Air Tonight on ABC at 9/8c!

Some of country’s biggest stars will be spreading some holiday cheer tonight on ABC!  Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles hosts the show airing tonight with appearances by Lauren Alaina, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Scotty McCreery, Miss Piggy, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, and Keith Urban. Tune in at 9/8c to hear them sing some Christmas favorites!

CMA Songwriters series goes back to DC

On Wednesday, November 16th at 8pm, Clint Black, Patty Loveless, Tim Nichols and host, Bob DiPiero will be in Washington, DC at the Library of Congress Coolidge Auditorium. The CMA Songwriters series is going to be back in DC again.

Keith Urban Presents Tommy Emmanuel With CMA Award

Australian country music artist Tommy Emmanuel was presented with the 2011 CMA Global Country Artist Award by Keith Urban on Monday. The ceremony was part of the CMA Music Festival celebration in Nashville this week.

Emmanuel was in the middle of an acoustic set on the Chevrolet Presents The CMA Global Artist Party At The Stage in Nashville, when Urban surprised him on-stage for the presentation. He was recognized for his achievement in furthering country music’s popularity in a country outside the United States.

Previous winners of the CMA Global Country Artist Award include Paul Brandt (Canada), Troy Cassar-Daley (Australia), Lee Kernaghan (Australia), and Jason McCoy (Canada).
