VIDEO: Scotty McCreery Performs “Water Tower Town” On American Idol; ‘Clear As Day’ Goes Platinum

Season 10 American Idol Winner Scotty McCreery made his way back to the American Idol stage on Thursday with a performance of his brand new single “Water Tower Town.” Immediately following his performance, Scotty was awarded with a Platinum plaque from Interscope Geffen A&M Records Chairman, Jimmy Iovine, commemorating 1 million in sales for his debut album, Clear As Day. What an accomplishment for Scotty!

Scotty can also be heard on this season of Idol as the voice of the official ‘Goodbye Song’ with his cover of Tim McGraw’s “Please Remember Me” (available now on iTunes). The track can be heard during the video that plays at the end of each elimination episode, and is streaming now on Soundcloud. You can find the stream below!

Scotty McCreery to Play Himself on Episode of Hart of Dixie

The Academy of Country Music Awards’ New Artist of the Year nominee Scotty McCreery will be making a special appearance this spring on April 23rd on the CW series Hart of Dixie. Scotty will play himself for a performance of his second hit single “The Trouble With Girls.” The song is Scotty’s second single from his debut album, Clear As Day, which was certified platinum earlier this month.

Scotty McCreery Is Number One

It has been an epic week for Scotty McCreery.

The American Idol turned the big 18 and hosted a birthday bash and CD release party over the weekend with friends and fans in Raleigh, NC. At the celebration, Mercury Nashville and Interscope Records presented McCreery with his first gold record for his single, “I Love You This Big.” The song has sold 500,000 digital copies in four months.

To top it off, McCreery now has the number one album in the country and is setting some new records with his current reign. His debut album, Clear As Day, tops the Billboard 200 Chart in its first week. With sales of 197,000, McCreery is the youngest male ever to top the 200 chart with a debut album and the first country act to debut at number one with their first album. He is also the first American Idol winner since Ruben Studdard in 2003 to debut at the number one spot.

Congratulations to Scotty on all of his amazing achievements so far! We look forward to following what we are sure will be a successful career.

Scotty McCreery Has Been Taking Over Your Television

American Idol, Scotty McCreery, has been everywhere lately. After a whirlwind summer traveling the country on the American Idol Tour and working on his record, McCreery is not slowing down. He has been doing the promo run this week in support of his debut album, Clear As Day, which dropped yesterday. He performed on The Today Show, Live With Regis & Kelly, and had his own GAC Special entitled Introducing: Scotty McCreery.

And the television appearances continue for the young singer. Later, McCreery will be stopping by The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. He will also be on The Ellen Degeneres Show this Friday, October 7.
