Rascal Flatts Brings Us A Home For The Holidays

2011 Country Christmas

The holidays are a time for friends and family. Rascal Flatts (and friends) recognize the importance of loved ones during the holiday season, which is why they are ringing in the holidays by taking us to “A Home For the Holidays.”

The 14th Annual “A Home For the Holidays,” an entertainment special, airing on Wednesday, December 19 from 8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT on CBS, will be hosted by best-selling country vocal group Rascal Flatts.  It will include moving performances by  Rascal Flatts, Rachel Crow (whose performance accompanies her personal story about foster care adoption), Melissa Etheridge, Matchbox Twenty and Phillip Phillips. Wayne Brady, Kevin Frazier and Jillian Michaels are set to present.

Following the success of the past 13 annual shows, the special continues to tell touching stories about adoption from foster care to raise awareness for this important social issue. The inspirational stories of these American families are enhanced with performances by some of today’s most popular artists. Some of the musical performances accompany story segments which are introduced by celebrities who have their own adoption experiences or are involved with children’s issues.  The stories highlight exceptional American children and families involved in this rewarding process.

Make sure to tune in to catch this very special holiday show!

Walking In a Winter Sugarland

Blake Shelton to Release “Cheers It’s Christmas” Album on October 2nd

Reigning ACM and CMA Male Vocalist of the year, Blake Shelton is prepping for the release of his first Christmas album, “Cheers It’s Christmas” on October 2, 2012 on Warner Bros. Records. Featured on the album will be several duet performances including fellow The Voice advisor Michael Bublé, close friend, Reba and a special duet with his mother, Dorothy Shackleford. The album includes classic songs that have touched Blake over the years. Many of the tracks on “Cheers It’s Christmas” were recorded at the famous Capitol Studios with full orchestral accompaniment.

In 2008, Blake recorded a version of Bublé’s song “Home” that showered both artists with multi-week No. 1’s and marked Blake’s fourth career multi-week No. 1 single. For Cheers It’s Christmas, Bublé and Blake have re-recorded the single to give it a Christmas spirit feel. Another exciting duet performance on Cheers It’s Christmas is great friend Reba. This is the first time the pair has ever performed on a record together.

They always say to save the most special for last, right? Well, last but not least – Blake literally brings the album home with a track he sang and co-wrote with one of the most special women in his life, his mother, Dorothy Shackleford. Nothing exemplifies Christmas like family, and with the single “Time For Me To Come Home” Blake and his mother capture the longing for a son on the road to finally come back home for Christmas time. How sweet is that?

“Cheers It’s Christmas” drops on October 2nd – just in time for you to pick up your copy before heading on the Blake Shelton Cruise, which sets sail from Miami, FL on October 14th and stops at San Juan, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Nassau before docking back in Miami on August 21st. What could be better than attending concerts while on a cruise? If you haven’t booked your spot yet, head on over to the link above and reserve your room!
