Country Cast For “The Big Bang Theory”

March Madness is making me a little, well, a little mad.  It’s now been two straight weeks that basketball has bounced The Big Bang Theory from CBS’ Thursday night lineup.

Along with being a huge fan of country music, I (along with millions of others) am also a big fan of the show.  The cast may be perfect down to the last micro-particle, but I’m going to mess with it anyway with this little “waiting for a new episode” time killer.

I’ve decided to replace the show’s regular stars with country stars who might be good at getting their geek on.  (For those who are old enough to remember it, insert the Folgers Crystals reference here.)  Please know that I’m in no way calling out the coolness of any of the singers included in the casting.  If anything, it should be seen as an honor to be picked for a place in the ultimate geek squad.

Some of the cast members were picked because they kind of look like the originals.  Others were picked because of the attitude they would bring to the role.  One choice is simply for the comedy of forcing this person to play the part.  Will you are agree or disagree with the casting?  Or will you have some ideas of your own?

Miranda Lambert To Co-Host “The Talk”

Miranda Lambert

Get ready for a little “Gunpowder & Lead” coming from the set of CBS’ The Talk.  That’s because country spitfire Miranda Lambert is set to co-host the show next Thursday, March 29.  We’ve got a feeling that the feisty and fiery Texan just might have a thing or two to say!

Lambert will be appearing on The Talk (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT/CT) as part of the show’s celebration (and promotion) of the upcoming Academy of County Music Awards.  She’s up for Female Vocalist of the Year as well as Album of the Year for her Four The Record.

But Miranda isn’t alone in taking her country talent to The Talk.  She’ll be joined on the same show by Chris Young, who also happens to currently be on tour with her.  Young, who is nominated ACM Male Vocalist and Single Record of the Year, will perform his chart-topping “You.”

The Talk will continue its country kick on Friday, March 30 when ACM Awards host and country music icon Reba McEntire will visit for a preview the awards show.

The 47th Academy of Country Music Awards will take place Sunday, April 1 from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas (Live 8pm ET on CBS/Delayed on the West Coast).

Carrie Underwood to Guest Star on CBS-TV’s ‘Blue Bloods’

Carrie Underwood.

Two-time ACM Entertainer of the Year Carrie Underwood will guest star alongside legendary Tony Bennett on the second season premiere of Blue Bloods on the CBS Television network.

The award-winning performers will portray themselves as they perform at a fundraiser that Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) and Erin Reagan-Boyle (Bridget Moynahan) are attending in the new mayor’s honor. Bennett and Underwood perform a duet of “It Had To Be You” for the crowd before greeting the Reagans.

“Having musical legend Tony Bennett and the hugely talented country music star Carrie Underwood perform on our show is a true gift. The talent that they bring together is amazing,” said Executive Producer Leonard Goldberg. “We’re looking forward to an exciting second season premiere with a story that is certain to provoke debate, and are thrilled that Tony and Carrie can be a part of it.”

The second season premiere of Blue Bloods airs September 23 at 10/9c on CBS. Be sure to check your local listings!
