The Academy of Country Music and Dick Clark Productions have announced ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute To the Troops, a concert event featuring some of the biggest names in country music paying tribute to our armed forces, which will be broadcast Tuesday, May 20th, 9:00-11:00pm EST, on the CBS Television Network.
Sarah Darling‘s “Blackbird,” a remake of the Paul McCartney penned Beatles classic, will be featured in the 200th episode of CBS’ Criminal Minds at 9 p.m. EST/PST tonight.
Darling was also in the news last week, receiving a nod from country music superstar Carrie Underwood in an interview with Glam, who said she would like to see more females doing really well in country music. “The ones who are out there — myself, Miranda, Reba, Taylor — are doing really well. I would just love to see more,” Underwood said. “It makes me a little sad when I do look at the charts and I see one female in the top 20. I really hope this is the year of the woman, and I really hope that there are some really breakthrough, amazing female artists that people can hear.” She goes on to specifically reference Darling, saying she has “such a sweet voice.”
Tune in to CBS to watch Criminal Minds tonight, and download Darling’s version of “Blackbird” here.
Family is at the heart of RCA Records Nashville singer songwriter Chris Young‘s holiday traditions, and this year, he has the honor of celebrating family as part of the 15th annual Home For The Holidays with Celine Dion. The special, which features inspirational stories about children adopted from foster care into loving families, will air Wednesday, December 18th at 8:00PM ET on the CBS Network.
On the special, Chris will debut his new single, “Who I Am With You,” which ships to radio today, December 16. “From the first time I heard this song I knew I had to have it for my record and I fell completely in love with it,” said Chris. “It’s a song that speaks to being totally in love with someone and the feelings you get from a connection like that. The feeling that just being around that person is all you need.” “Who I Am With You,” is the follow-up single to his top 5, Gold selling hit, “Aw Naw,” from his new album, A.M.
As we reported several months ago, Kelly Clarkson will appear alongside Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar in the pilot for CBS show, The Crazy Ones. Well, tonight is the night you will find Kelly on your televisions, playing a hilariously exaggerated and oversexed version of herself. Do you REALLY want to miss this?!
Set your DVR for tonight’s episode of The Crazy Ones, airing at 9:00pm EST/8:00pm CST!
Kelly Clarkson: Pop star. Crossover country star. Reality shows mentor. Honorary McEntire. Sitcom star?
Although that last role may seem a bit far-fetched for the crossover country star, Clarkson will be adding yet another role to her already impressive resume. This fall, she will appear alongside of Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar in the pilot for a new CBS show, The Crazy Ones. Although she’s appeared on the small screen as a guest on Reba and a mentor on Duets, this may be Clarkson’s most risque role since grinding against Justin Guarini in From Justin to Kelly.
In the pilot, Clarkson plays a hilariously exaggerated and oversexed version of herself, while Williams and Gellar play a father-daughter advertising team. So you’ve got Mrs. Doubtfire, Buffy and the original American Idol in one place? We’ll be tuning in to CBS on Thursdays this fall at 9pm!
The 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards are taking place this Sunday, April 7th, in Las Vegas. As we all know, the red carpet and stage fashion choices are some of the most talked about items when it comes to award shows. Back, due to popular demand, is our very own pre-award show fashion reminiscent feature! This time, we take a look at the couples and collaborations of ACMs past … and, boy, have there been some questionably horrific and unquestionably sensational choices in ACM history!
Shelton co-hosted the show with Reba McEntire, and the pair once again nailed their roles as hosts. You can always count on it being a fantastic show with McEntire and Shelton leading the way.
The country superstar also performed his single “Drink On It” from his hugely successful and number one album, Red River Blue. He then took the stage again to close the show. This time, though, with Lionel Richie for their duet version of “You Are.” The track will be on Richie’s Tuskegee album, which features duets with various country stars.
To top it all off, Shelton snagged the ACM Award last night for ‘Male Vocalist of the Year!’ He was surprised by the honor, but it is very well deserved and we are so happy for him. Congratulations to Blake!!!!

Shelton also stopped by the press room for an interview. He discussed his career, The Voice, Taylor Swift, and his wife, Miranda Lambert.
