ABC has announced the first round of performers for the 46th CMA Awards, taking place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 1st. Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Kelly Clarkson and Little Big Town are the first acts to be announced with many more to come.

While Aldean, Bentley & Little Big Town aren’t surprises, we have to wonder what Kelly Clarkson will be performing. Will we be getting a countrified ”Mr. Know It All” or is KC finally releasing a full country single. We sure hope that it’s the latter!

The show will be hosted by Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood. It airs on ABC on November 1.

Twelve-Year-Old Boy Is Blown Away By Carrie Underwood

When twelve-year-old Chase attended Carrie Underwood‘s concert in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday night, he never would have expected that what seemed like just a dream would actually come true.  During the concert, Chase held up a sign to Carrie that asked “Will you be my first kiss?”  Surprising Chase, Carrie noticed the sign and called him up on stage.  Before planting a kiss directly on to Chase’s lips, Carrie warned the cowboy casanova that her husband was somewhere in the building and would likely be looking for him later.

And boys, don’t get any fancy ideas! Carrie has already stated this will be the first and only time she will fulfill such a wish!

The Country Music Association announced today that Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be returning once again as co-hosts for the 46th Annual Country Music Association Awards on November 1st. It’s the fifth time the pair are co-hosting the award show together, which will air November 1st at 8 pm EST on ABC live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

“I think I can speak for both of us when I say that we are extremely excited to be back for a fifth year hosting the CMA Awards,” said Underwood. “Each year we work harder so that we can help present the best show possible.”

“We’re waiting on someone to do something really stupid between now and then,” said Paisley. “I have faith. We are excited. I think you walk out there with people expecting a certain thing now and that’s a great place to be. I think they know who we are. They know what we do up there together and we’ve become something different together than we are separately I think, which is fun.”

Paisley has won 14 CMA Awards since receiving the Horizon Award (now the New Artist Award) in 2000, including Entertainer of the Year (2010), Male Vocalist (2007, 2008, 2009) and Album (2006 for Time Well Wasted). He won Musical Event of the Year three times, first in 2004 with Alison Krauss for “Whiskey Lullaby,” second in 2006 for “When I Get Where I’m Going” with Dolly Parton, and a third time in 2009 for “Start a Band” with Keith Urban. He claimed the Vocal Event of the Year trophy in 2001 for “Too Country” with Bill Anderson, George Jones, and Buck Owens and  won Music Video of the Year three times, first in 2002 for “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song),” second in 2004 for “Whiskey Lullaby” (again with Krauss), and third in 2007 for “Online.” He is No. 5 on the list of top CMA Award winners of all time.

“I really think that the CMA Awards are a very special thing in our town,” said Paisley. “When they say it’s ‘Country Music’s Biggest Night™,’ it is. It’s the biggest night of ratings that we ever get. The reason that I think it has worked is because we both take it so seriously that we’re ready when we walk out there. We are focused on making sure that we’re not just crossing our fingers that it works, that what we have ready is ready.”

Underwood has received five CMA Awards in her career, including three consecutive wins as Female Vocalist (2006, 2007, 2008), as well as Single of the Year (2007 for “Before He Cheats”), and the Horizon Award (2006).

“I feel like each year our hosting gets better and better,” said Underwood.  “We want to top that every year, so it’s a good challenge.”

Mike Fisher To Be Guest Speaker at Boots & Hearts

mikefisher & carrieunderwood

Canadian NHL player Mike Fisher will be making his first festival on-stage appearance at Boots & Hearts Music Festival this weekend. He’s part of the free gospel breakfast on Sunday, August 11th at the main stage which will features performances by High Valley and Michelle Wright. Mike, along with TSN’s Gino Reda, will speak to fans during the continental breakfast. Mike’s wife, Carrie Underwood, will be headlining during the Festival.

Mike won the NHL Foundation Award for the 2011-2012 season for his charitable work in the community. The Nashville Predator was recognized with the award for applying the core values of hockey – commitment, perseverance, and teamwork – to enrich the lives of people in need. He will be doing a question and answer segment with TSN’s Gino Reda during the breakfast on his faith.

“Having grown up right down the road, it’s exciting to see a world-class music festival like this being brought to our region.  When I heard the concept the promoters were working on for Sunday morning, I was happy to help any way that I could,” said Fisher.  “Faith is obviously something that’s played a vital role in my life, and I think the idea of providing a free breakfast to festival goers while great artists perform their favourite gospel songs is really cool. It’s something that I’ve never seen or even heard of at another festival before.”

Mike is a World Vision Ambassador and recently visited El Salvador to see first-hand the impact the charity makes on the lives of those in need.

Boots & Hearts runs August 9th through to the 12th in Bowmanville, Ontario. It’s the inaugural year for the festival, which plans on becoming an annual event.
