Winners have been announced for the 48th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, a star-studded ceremony broadcast LIVE tonight on the CBS Television Network from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.  Fans named Luke Bryan, Entertainer of the Year, the evening’s biggest honor and his first win in that category. This year marked a record breaking year with 1.1 million fans casting their vote for Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year categories, combined.

Bryan co-hosted the ACM Awards for the first time ever tonight with Blake Shelton. Prior to the telecast, Bryan won for Vocal Event of the Year with Jason Aldean and Eric Church, for “The Only Way I Know,” a trophy he accepted on the GAC live red carpet pre-show. The Entertainer of the Year Award and Vocal Event of the Year mark his fourth ACM Award wins. He previously won in 2009 for both New Solo Vocalist of the Year and for New Artist of the Year.

Miranda Lambert won for the fourth consecutive year as Female Vocalist of the Year and she also took the prize for Single Record of the Year as artist, and Song of the Year, as artist and composer, for “Over You,” an award she shares with husband and co-composer Blake Shelton.  She is the leading winner of the night, with a total of four trophies in three categories.  She joins Reba and Loretta Lynn as the only other artists to win Female Vocalist of the Year four or more times.

Jason Aldean won Male Vocalist of the Year, his first win in the category.  Aldean also won for Vocal Event of the Year, with Luke Bryan and Eric Church, for “The Only Way I Know.”  This is his second consecutive win in that category; he won last year with Kelly Clarkson for “Don’t You Wanna Stay.”  In 2005, he won for New Male Vocalist of the Year.

Little Big Town won Vocal Group of the Year and, prior to the telecast, they were also awarded the trophy for Video of the Year for “Tornado.” This is their first win in both categories.  In 2006, they won for New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year.

Eric Church won Album of the Year for Chief. He also won for Vocal Event of the Year, with Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan, for “The Only Way I Know.” This is his first win in both categories, and his third ACM Award overall. He won for New Solo Vocalist of the Year in 2010.

Brantley Gilbert is heading overseas

Country must be world wide now. The Valory Music Co’s young star Brantley Gilbert will be playing his first-ever overseas show tomorrow night in the United Kingdom. His European tour stops include London, Glasgow, and Manchester. He’s not done his adventure after those three concerts, however, as he’ll make his way to the Middle East to entertain the USO troops and their families.

It’s a big deal for Brantley, who explains why he’s so excited to take his music to the next level:

“Man you know we sing about Country being Country wide, but we are taking it to the next level this time. I’m excited to meet all of the Country fans in Europe. We will have a blast … and performing for the troops … man I couldn’t be more excited about that. I have so much respect for what our service men and women do every day.  To have the chance to perform for them while they are actively serving our country couldn’t make me more proud to have this opportunity.”

Tickets are still available for his United Kingdom dates. Check out his tour dates at brantleygilbert.com and see when he’ll be taking his “Hell On Wheels” tour to a city near you in April.

Keith Urban‘s “We’re All For The Hall” benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will return for the fourth consecutive year.

The show, which will feature an all-star lineup, will take place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on April 16th, 2013. Some of the invited artists include Keith, Vince Gill, Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Rosanne Cash, Eric Church, Brantley GilbertKid Rock, Kris Kristofferson, Loretta Lynn, Tim McGraw, Montgomery Gentry, Willie Nelson, Billy Joe Shaver and Hank Williams, Jr.

This year’s theme will be “Rebels and Renegades, the Outlaws are IN”. The past three benefit concerts have raised a collective $1.5 million, which is directed toward the Museum’s operating expenses, caring for the collection, exhibitions, programs, and more.

Museum board president Vince Gill created All for the Hall, an artist-led fundraising initiative for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Funds raised from the concert also go toward preservation efforts, exhibitions and educational programs about the culture and value of country music.

“The purity in making music on your own terms – to create art in your own way – for me, is at the heart of the outlaw spirit,” said Urban.  “It’s those outlaws that we celebrate this year, who not only made it possible for a guy like me to do what I love, but who play a pivotal role in the strength of Country music’s diversity.”

Tickets will go on sale on March1st at 10AM CST. For ticket and VIP package information, visit Ticketmaster.com.

Brantley Gilbert Dating Jana Kramer

Jana Kramer & Brantley Gilbert.

Brantley Gilbert let a pretty big secret slip during a recent radio interview. Turns out the country rocker has been dating actress-turned-singer Jana Kramer. The pair met for the first time while at the CMT Awards this past June. During an interview with Atlanta radio station WKHX’s morning show, Brantley admitted that they were a couple. Cadillac Jack, one of the morning show personalities, saw a picture of Brantley in Jana’s bunk while interviewing her on her bus last week.

After much persuasion from the show’s hosts, Brantley finally said:

“To answer your question, yes. And and I’m a very, very happy man. Yes, I am with Jana Kramer.”

Listen to the full interview here on the podcast and let us know what you think about country music’s newest couple.
