Sandi Thom Takes On Bonnie Raitt and Guns N’ Roses

Scottish singer-songwriter, Sandi Thom, shared videos of her renditions of Bonnie Raitt‘s “Can’t Make You Love Me” and Gun N’ Roses’ “November Rain.” The videos are part of a weekly cover series updated every Thursday on Sandi’s Youtube, displaying Sandi’s talent and stylistic range.

Sandi recently shared the news that her upcoming fourth studio album, “Flesh and Blood” (recorded in Nashville with the Black Crowes’ Rich Robinson), is due out August 14th. The album’s lead single, “The Sun Comes Crashing Down,” is available as a free download at sandithom.com.

American Idol: Skylar Laine

Skylar Laine

American Idol Season 11 is well underway. As you probably already know, this season’s resident country girl is Skylar Laine¬†and she is definitely one to watch. With a great set of country pipes and stellar performance skills, Skylar is going to be a serious contender for the Idol crown this year. She has “it” as they say.

Skylar has continued to impress me each week, and nails her performance every time she hits the stage. She is one of the most consistent contestants and her stage presence is second to none this season. Her country mixed with rock sound definitely suites her well, and fits in perfectly on current country radio.

Tonight on Idol, we will lose another contestant giving us the Top 9. I would be shocked if Skylar is in jeopardy after her fantastic rendition of Billy Joel’s “Shameless” last night.
