Kid Rock just premiered his new music video “Care” on CMT.com this morning. The song features Pistol Annies’ Angaleena Presley and rapper T.I. Make sure you read our interview with Angaleena who discusses making the single with Kid Rock.
We just got off the phone with the lovely, and talented, Angaleena Presley of the Pistol Annies. The “Holler Annie” called us on her way to a meeting in Nashville, and answered some of their fans biggest questions: including what was the secret recording with T Bone, what sound track the girls are hoping to get on, and if we’ll see a Pistol Annies tour next year. We also discussed eloping and second marriages, Elvis, and if there’s a chance for a second single from “Hell On Heels.”
Read our exclusive interview below with the Pistol Annies’ brunette bombshell and see if you have what it takes to be an “Annie.”
Just in case you haven’t heard the news, or track, yet, Kid Rock has recorded a duet with Pistol Annies member Angaleena Presley. The “Holler Annie” recorded a new version of Kid Rock’s “Care” which is out at radio now. This is the third version of the single, which previously featured Martina McBride and Mary J. Blige for different takes on the song. Angaleena’s version is the one that made it to country radio as a single, however.

The Pistol Annies track listing for their debut album as the tough-as-nails girls trio has been revealed on their official music store. “Hell on Heels,” named after their first single, is available August 23rd but pre-orders have been open since CMA Fest. The Pistol Annies are made up of best friends Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley. The 10-track album also includes a co-write with Lamber’ts husband, Blake Shelton, on “Family Feud.” The girls, nicknamed Lone Star Annie (Lambert), Holler Annie (Presley), and Hippie Annie (Monroe), gave Shelton the honorary title of Pistol Andy.
The girls released the music video for “Hell on Heels” earlier this week to CMT and GAC. It’s already topped the online charts on CMT.com as the number one most watched music video this week. We were at Miranda Lambert’s Ran Fan Rendezvous 2011 fan club party this year in Nashville, Tennessee and Jessica has a few videos up on our official YouTube channel of their acoustic set during the party when Monroe and Presley surprised fans by joining Lambert on-stage.
Lambert has also been surprising fans on her tour with a short 3-song set by the Annies on select tour dates.
“Takin’ Pills” will be featured on the Annies debut album as a group next month. Here’s our footage of the acoustic version. Have you pre-ordered their album? Or are you waiting for Lambert’s solo album, “Four The Record,” due out later on this year? Check out the full track listing under the “Read More” button.
You can pre-order their album from their official store HERE.
On each of Miranda Lambert’s first four tour stops of her “Revolution Continues” tour since her marriage, she has brought out her best friends, and side project partners, The Pistol Annies for a four-song set mid-concert. Singing three original Annies songs, including “Hell on Heels”, they finish off with a cover of Hit “The Road Jack.”
The first live video from her Savannah, Georgia stop featuring the Pistol Annies found its way on to Youtube yesterday. With the Annies finishing up their first album, due out in July, the three songs should be considered an album preview for the trio. What do you think of the Pistol Annies? I think their third original song, “Boys From The South,” will be a hit if released. The three singer-songwriters might be the first classic country tinged all-girl group in a long time.
Check out the live concert video under the “more” tag. Let us know what you think of the Pistol Annies. Do you prefer Miranda on her own, or are you excited for this girl powered group?
Miranda Lambert announced on Twitter this afternoon that she’s finishing up recording her forth studio album and about to start recording for her new group, The Pistol Annies. Lambert had recorded Revolution in one week in 2009. The Pistol Annies debut record is due out some time this Summer, and earlier interviews have quoted Lambert as expecting her new solo release out by the end of the year.
@Miranda_Lambert: Day 5 studio. Last one for my record. Tomorrow…..Pistol Annies. Finishing our record so y’all can get it:)
According to the fan forum at mirandalambert.com, Miranda has announced that her group the “Pistol Annies” will put out an EP in June! She reported this information at her Cause For The Paws event in Tyler Texas just last week.
The Pistol Annies trio is made up of Miranda Lambert, Angaleena Presley, and Ashley Monroe. They debuted their song “Hell On Heels” at Girls Night Out in Vegas on April 4th.
