Cruisin’ With Blake Shelton Playlist

blake shelton

With the days getting warmer and the date getting closer, us here at Keepin’ it Country got together to put together a list of our favorite beach-flavored tunes for the Blake Shelton Cruise. We’ll be aboard the biggest live country music event ever to set sail, and we want to help our fellow country music fans get ready for the party of the year!

The 7-night cruise leaves Miami on October 14th, then returns on October 21st after 7-nights at sea. You’ll visit San Juan, Tortola, Nassau, and St. Thomas over those fantastic seven nights. Not only will we be on-board, but so will some of the biggest stars in country music… Blake Shelton will perform twice during the cruise, and he’s bringing along some friends to perform and party with too. There’s so many great performers announced so far that it would take all day to list them here, so visit blakesheltoncruise.com to book your cabin or for more information on the country music party of the year. If you mention Keepin’ it Country when you book your cabin you’ll receive a free gift from us on-board!

Take a look at our ultimate Blake Shelton Cruise playlist below, which we’ll be playing on our iPods as we board the beautiful Norwegian Pearl in October.  Leave us your suggestions and maybe your favorites might make our Cruise playlist part 2 at a later date.

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Lucas Hoge

lucas hoge

There’s just something about Lucas Hoge that makes him instantly likable.  Maybe it’s his small-town roots (He’s from tiny Hubbell, Nebraska with a population of around 50).  Or maybe it’s his farm-bred work ethic.  Or maybe it’s how you can sense those things in both the man and his music.

He’s currently promoting his single, “Give A Damn,” and is putting the finishing touches on his self-titled album, which is due out near the end of March.  You may already have heard some of his music — not necessarily on the radio but on TV.  His “If I Only Could,” was featured on an episode of Smallville on the WB.  Plus, he has written and performed the theme songs for two shows:  The already mentioned “Give A Damn,” which is the theme song for Tom’s Wild Life on GAC and the title theme song for Last Chance Highway on Animal Planet.  If that’s not enough, he also wrote and performed a jingle for Lipton Tea.

The interview is the first time that I had spoken with Lucas.  Yes, he’s out to promote his music, but clearly there’s so much more to him than that.  It may have only been one conversation, but from it I could tell that he is truly compassionate and caring about people, pets, and, naturally, making music.  You’ll probably get the same sense about him after reading it.

The Best Valentines Day Songs

pic

Here at Keepin’ It Country, we like to get a little festive. With Valentines Day tomorrow, we thought it would be fun to put together some of our favourite songs that celebrate love and are thus appropriate to celebrate during this time of year. We recognize some oldies (but goodies), as well as some more modern tunes. Nonetheless, it was rather hard trying to narrow down this list to just ten! Let us know how you feel about our picks!
