DVR Alert: Pistol Annies on Say Yes To The Dress
TLC is kicking off their brand new season of Say Yes To The Dress: Atlanta with some very special guests on August 24th. The Pistol Annies will be starring in the episode as Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe help out Angaleena Presley in finding the perfect wedding dress for her wedding to Miranda’s tour manager, Jordan Powell, back in May.
“There is no way I would want to do this without them. I’m eloping, so this is the way to feel like a bride and do bride stuff.”
The episode airs August 24th at 9 pm EST on TLC.
DVR Alert: Pistol Annies on The View
Country music trio Pistol Annies will be making an appearance on The View talk show next week on ABC. The girls will be performing their new single “Takin’ Pills” on Wednesday, July 25th. Actress Jessica Alba will also be on the program. Check your local listings for air times.
The girls released their music video for “Takin’ Pills” earlier this month. They’ll be returning to the studio as a group in November to work on their sophomore album, the follow up to the critically acclaimed “Hell on Heels.” What was your favorite track from their debut album?
Angaleena Presley Signs Songwriting Deal With EMI
It’s been a whirlwind of a last few weeks for Pistol Annies member Angaleena Presley. Officially a newlywed, the singer-songwriter has just signed a worldwide publishing deal with EMI Music Publishing. All future songs written by the Kentucky native will now be represented world-wide by EMI Music Publishing and Ten Ten Music. “Holler Annie” co-wrote the group’s debut album “Hell on Heels” and Miranda Lambert‘s current single “Fastest Girl In Town.” Angaleena is currently working on her own solo work as well as the sophomore album of the Annies which will be recorded later this year.
EMI Music is pretty ecstatic about adding Angaleena to its roster. Ben Vaughn of EMI Music Publishing Nashville said:
“You just have to listen to Angaleena’s lyrics to hear that she is a classic modern day songwriter whose music connects to anyone that loves authentic music. Everyone at EMI would like to welcome Angaleena and our new partner Ten Ten Music, and we look forward to the bright future of this talented writer and artist.”
In case you’re wondering the Annies met, Ten Ten Music co-president Jewel Coburn shares a little on Angaleena and Ashley Monroe‘s past:
“When Barry and I first met Angaleena we both went ‘wow!’ Several years down the road we helped set her up with Ashley Monroe as writing partners and Ashley introduced Angaleena to Miranda. It was a perfect match! It’s been magical seeing Angaleena grow as a writer and performer, we have believed in her right from start and we continue to support her on this incredible journey.”
It’s been a long road for Angaleena herself, who shares:
“The road from my front porch in Kentucky to Music Row has been long and hard but well worth traveling. I want to thank everyone at EMI and Ten Ten Music for helping make my little songs reach front porch dreamers all over the world.”
Angaleena is currently out with the Pistol Annies on select dates of Miranda Lambert’s “ON FIRE” tour. She’ll be part of the Pistol Annies own tour later this year.
Pistol Annies Welcome Fans To Henhouse
Rising country trio Pistol Annies are calling on all fellow Annies and Andys to join them in their Henhouse! The Henhouse is a brand new online community connecting fans to share creativity of the Pistol Annies lifestyle. Fans are able to upload and check out others’ discoveries, pictures, and stories as well as behind the scenes content of how the Annies operate.
Miranda Lambert, also known as Lone Star Annie, is giving fans a reason to join:
“Tune in to ‘Live from the Henhouse’ with Hippie Annie (Ashley Monroe), Holler Annie (Angaleena Presley) and me, Lone Star Annie, for advice that your momma won’t give you.”
Ashley Monroe, also known as Hippie Annie, added:

On what it takes to be an Annie? Angaleena Presley, or Holler Annie, keeps it simple:
“Being an Annie is an attitude.”
The site also features Henhouse radio, which features the sound track to the Annie lifestyle: some Tom Petty, Merle Haggard, and even a little bit of Pistol Andy – Blake Shelton. Angaleena Presley Wedding Details!
We had the chance to speak with Pistol Annies member Angaleena Presley back in November all about the Annies and her wedding to Miranda Lambert tour manager, Jordan Powell. The two were married Tuesday in a private ceremony in Jacksonhole, WY. While we don’t know the details for sure, Angaleena shared a little bit on what she was expecting with us here at Keepin’ it Country:
“We’re gonna elope. We are, you know, it’s my second marriage and it’s his second marriage and we had weddings the first time and we’re over it. We’re just going to wake up one morning and go to the mountains and get married. We don’t know when and we don’t know where, but we’re just going to wake up one morning and do it one day.”

Congratulations to Pistol Annies member Angaleena Presley! The news of the Kentucky-born singer/songwriter’s nuptials broke on the group’s Twitter page this evening (May 24).

Fans of the Pistol Annies will be able to catch them live on the CMT Awards June 6. They can also see them on Miranda Lambert’s On Fire Tour this summer.
RaeLynn Returns, Performs With Miranda In Stagecoach Surprise
Fans at the Stagecoach Festival got a huge surprise Saturday night: The return of RaeLynn.
Headliner Miranda Lambert was midway through her show when she surprised the Indio, California crowd by bringing RaeLynn out on the stage. The two then sang a rocking version of Maroon 5’s “Wake Up Call,” which RaeLynn had performed on The Voice. (See a fan-shot video of the performance below.)
Shortly after her performance RaeLynn tweeted the following message:
Just performed with my favorite country singer and my adopted big sister @Miranda_Lambert! Love my sister Annie’s!
Lambert had long been scheduled to headline at the festival and many fans hoped to see the Pistol Annies — the trio of Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe – as they had performed at Miranda’s shows the previous two nights. The Annies did perform, but the big bombshell came from the tiny Texan and her performance with Miranda, her idol.
Pistol Annies Announce Second Single
The Pistol Annies are takin’ to the road and soon the group will be takin’ to the airwaves with their second single: “Takin’ Pills.”
The trio of Angaleena Presley, Ashley Monroe and Miranda Lambert announced the selection of the single Thursday night while performing at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. “Takin’ Pills” talks about the main vice of each Pistol Annie character: Lone Star Annie (Lambert) is drinkin’. Holler Annie (Pressley) is smokin’. Hippie Annie (Monroe) is takin’ pills. The Annies said the single will be released sometime in June.
The song will be the second single for the Pistol Annies. It follows “Hell On Heels,” which went gold with more than 500,000 digital copies sold.
The trio recently announced they will be joining Lambert on her tour throughout the spring and summer. We have a list of the initially announced dates HERE.
Pistol Annies To Celebrate “Record Store Day” With Special Release
The Pistol Annies are bringing their old-school sound to an old-school format: Vinyl.
The trio is celebrating “Record Store Day” with the vinyl release of their Hell On Hells album. The special vinyl version will be available Saturday, April 21. The CD and digital album was released in August of last year and has already yielded a Gold single with the title track.
In addition, there’s a widget available HERE that features an animated record player where fans can listen to the Annies’ album with the “fuzz and crackle” feel of a well-loved and worn vinyl record. By sharing the widget, fans are automatically registered to win an autographed copy of the album and a Sony USB Stereo Turntable to play it on.
The Pistol Annies (Miranda Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe) have a traditional sound that is tailor-made for turntables.
“The music of the Pistol Annies is the three of us truly being ourselves—not only in our songwriting and storytelling, but also in the way we perform as a team, says Lambert. “We wanted to make music that people talk about but might not want to admit and it’s the kind of raw and honest country music that deserves to be on vinyl.”

EXCLUSIVE: RaeLynn From “The Voice” On Her Battle Round And Beyond
RaeLynn keeps racking up the “firsts” for Team Blake on this season of NBC’s smash singing competition The Voice. She was the first singer selected by Blake Shelton for his team. Now she’s the first singer Blake picked as a winner in the Battle Rounds.
The 17-year-old was matched with Adley Stump for her Battle Round. The pairing brought together two different types of singers: The powerful voice of Adley vs the more stylish singing RaeLynn. Coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green picked Adley as the winner, while Adam Levine went with RaeLynn. In the end the decision was Blake’s and he went with RaeLynn, taking style over power.
Clearly, Blake sees something special about RaeLynn. But will the viewing audience feel the same way when it comes time to vote? We’ll all have to stay tuned for the answer to that question.
In the meantime, we caught up with the talented Texan to get her thoughts on meeting Miranda Lambert, her Battle Round with Adley, preparing for the live shows and a product endorsement she could really sink her teeth into.
Did you honestly have no idea that you were going to be working with Miranda?
