Next week is a big week for country music icon Tim McGraw. On Sunday, May 19th at 9 pm EST, CBS will air “ACM Presents: Tim McGraw’s Superstar Summer Night.” The special was filmed right after the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas earlier this year.
On Wednesday, May 8, a small group of Lady Antebellum fans were treated to a special performance by the band in New York City. The show took place at the iHeartRadio Theater presented by P.C. Richard & Son to celebrate the release of Lady A’s new album, Golden. The trio performed tracks from the new album, including “Downtown,” “Goodbye Town” and “Golden” as well as fan faves such as “Need You Now” and “Owned the Night.” They also performed a stellar cover of Bruno Mars’s recent hit, “Locked Out of Heaven.”
Although “Cruise” is already a bona fide hit, the guys of Florida Georgia Line are ready to ride the wave even further, with the release of the “Cruise” Remix, featuring Grammy-Winner Nelly. The country duo and hip hop star recently joined forced in the California desert to film a video full of fast cars, women and slick moves. We’ve got your first look before the video hits VEVO on Monday, May 13th.
Yesterday was the big day for all-girls trio Pistol Annies. The girls celebrated the release of their sophomore album “Annie Up” by performing on The Late Show With David Letterman. Check out their performance of lead single “Hush, Hush” below and let us know what you think – are you loving their new album or do you prefer “Hell On Heels”?
Oklahoma superstar Carrie Underwood is the new voice of Sunday Night Football. The “All-American Girl” will replace Faith Hill as the singer for the opening theme song to the NFL’s “Wait All Day For Sunday Night.” The choice is a slightly funny one, as Carrie is married to Nashville Predators player Mike Fisher in the National Hockey League (NHL).
About becoming the new opening singer, Carrie said:
“I am thrilled to be a part of NBC’s ‘Sunday Night Football’ and am so honored they asked me. I have always loved football season, and it is so exciting to now become part of it every Sunday night!”
Carrie’s opening will make its debut during the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants game on Sunday, September 8th.Are you excited to see Carrie every Sunday night? Who was your choice to replace Faith?
Kellie Pickler has been impressing us every week this season on Dancing With The Stars.
Last night, Pickler again wowed us with a Paso Doble she performed with partner (and one of the best choreographers around), Derek Hough, and special guest, Tristan MacManus. Carrie Ann and Bruno raved about the performance and gave the dance 10′s. Len, however, was on a completely different page finding the routine more focused on showmanship than technique. The vast difference in scoring sparked quite the debate among the judges.
We are of course Team Pickler, but loyalty aside, the trio dance was fantastic and deserved a perfect score. We are with Carrie Ann and Bruno on this one.
On the heels of their multi-week chart-topping lead single “Downtown,” GRAMMY winning trio Lady Antebellum released “Goodbye Town” yesterday as the second single off their fourth studio album GOLDEN - out TODAY. The result of a session between Haywood, Kelley, Scott and Josh Kear, “Goodbye Town” was written backstage during the trio’s OWN THE NIGHT 2012 WORLD TOUR.
About writing the song, Charles shared:
“Josh came out to see us on the road because that’s where we did so much of the writing for this album. There’s just something about this song that I think people can relate to. It’s that time after a breakup when everything about a place reminds you of that person, so all you want to do is just get the hell out of there. We really wanted the production to reflect that almost haunting feeling.”
Lady A kicks off GOLDEN release week tomorrow with performances slated for Good Morning America, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and two nights on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, as well as an exclusive and intimate release show at New York City’s newest hot spot The McKittrick Hotel for the Lady Antebellum GOLDEN Release Show presented by Citi.
Did you pick up your copy of GOLDEN today? What’s your favorite track?
