Keepin’ It Country Presents…JAMES OTTO!

No folks, your eyes did not deceive you! We are bringing you THE Grammy nominated, CMA and ACM award winning, James Otto!

Otto hails from the great Northwest, which hasn’t turned out a huge number of country stars, though it hasn’t been for lack of local interest. “Country music is actually really big up there. I know when people think of Washington state they think of Seattle, but the side of WA that I’m from, which is the high plains/desert side, is all straight-up agricultural.” Not that he isn’t equally proud of being a Nashvillian, which you might guess from his ability to pinpoint the date he made the move (“thirteen years ago, August 4”).

Prepare To Party: Former Contestants From “The Voice” Staging Special Show

the vocie after party

The Voice comes to an end next week with either Jermaine Paul (Team Blake), Tony Lucca (Team Adam), Juliet Simms (Team Cee Lo) or Chris Mann (Team Christina) walking away as the winner.

We’re well aware of what the final four are up to.  But what about some of our favorite second season singers who have come and gone?  On Wednesday (May 9) we’ll all get the chance to catch up with a big bunch of them.

More than a dozen former contestants from this season are coming together for what’s being billed as “The After Party” show.  The singers will be taking to the stage for a special show at Saint Rocke, just outside of Los Angeles.

The event will not only allow fans to reconnect with some of their favorites, it will also allow the performers to keep building the bonds they formed while on the show.

Jake Owen Raises Money For St Jude Research Hospital

Jake Owen.

RCA Nashville artist Jake Owen recently played his second Stageit show to benefit St. Jude’s Research Hospital in Tennessee. He raised an incredible $3,000 in just 35 minutes for the hospital.

“If I can’t be on the road playing songs for people,” says RCA Nashville’s Jake Owen, “I’ll do it from my kitchen through a live concert on Stageit.com. The concerts are very spur of the moment,” he says. “There aren’t any mics or cords, just a few guitars and my MAC that has an eyesight camera on it. I Tweet about it ahead of time to let everyone know we’re doing it. The other night we raised 3K for St. Jude in just 35 minutes. I would have been playing music with my friends in my kitchen anyway, so it’s a pretty cool way to give back.”

Jake’s fundraising continues December 10th when he will join his childhood friend, and top ranked American in professional tennis, Mardy Fish, to host the 6th annual “Mardy’s Tennis And Jake’s Music Fest” in Vero Beach, Florida. The concert will include special performances by Eric Paslay, Chris Young, and of course, Jake himself.

Jake’s portion of proceeds will be donated to St. Jude and The Mardy Fish Foundation, whose mission is to provide kids with access to after-school activities that involve exercise, proper nutrition, and enrichment programs in a safe environment.

Jake Owen’s Stageit Show Raises Over $1000 For St. Jude Children’s Hospital

Jake Owen

Jake Owen kicked off CMA Awards week with a special gig.

On Monday night, he took his kitchen sessions live by performing his first Stageit show. All proceeds went to “The Jake Owen Foundation” to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Owen played a 45-minute set for fans all across the country straight from his house in Nashville.

As I said in a previous post, Stageit is this great and innovative website that allows artists to stream performances from anywhere in the world and bring them into their fans’ homes. Fans purchase tickets using the site’s currency called “notes.” Owen did not set a ticket price. He just asked for donations and whatever people were able to give.

The set list consisted of a mix of hits and fan favorites including his platinum song, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” “Love Ya, Love Ya, Love Ya,” and his current single, “Alone With You.”

Owen shared that he just filmed a video for his new single, chatted about his dogs as he brought them on camera, talked about Halloween, and gave a shout-out to some of his friends. He also thanked a fan from the Stageit chat room for serving in the military. Then, he called another fan on the phone who was the top tipper of the night and played a song at her request.

The show raised over $1000 dollars for St. Jude. Owen tweeted:

HOLY COW!!!! THANK Y’ALL SO MUCH!! We just raised over $1,000 dollars for St. Jude in 45 minutes by sitting in my kitchen and singing songs on StageIt.com.

It was a great night for an even greater cause. The show was awesome and I enjoyed every minute of Owen’s smooth vocals and charming banter. I look forward to another Stageit show from him in the future.

Thank-you Jake Owen, Stageit, & fans for raising money for such an amazing charity.

Jake Owen: Stageit Show Tonight To Benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital

Jake Owen

Jake Owen is taking his “Kitchen Sessions” live. He will be playing a Stageit show tonight to raise money for the “Jake Owen Foundation,” which benefits St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The show is set to start at 11:30 p.m. EST. Ticket prices are whatever you can give.

If you have not heard of Stageit yet, it is this awesome website where artists play shows from their living rooms, coffee shops, or anywhere in the world and stream it live through Stageit’s website. You create an account on the site, and buy a ticket for the shows using Stageit‘s currency called notes. Ten notes equal a dollar. Most shows cost on average around 50 or so notes. Sometimes, they are even free. And sometimes, they ask for a donation like Owen is doing with his show later tonight.

I have always been a fan of Stageit, and I am excited for Owen’s show. It is for a great cause. Grab your tickets. They will be going fast.

Sarah Darling Making Another Live First

Sarah Darling.

Sarah Darling is getting ready for another first in her career. She’ll make her debut performance on the new “Stage It” platform. You can have a concert with her and still stay in your pajamas and not have to pay a crazy admission price. Pretty good, actually.

The show takes place at 8 pm CST tomorrow night, (August 25th). All you have to do is pay for a ticket from stageit.com, which is a “pay what you can”. That means, you pay for your ticket what you think your artist deserves for the show. They’ll play live via webcam just for you! Tickets are limited, however, and only 48 are left right now.

Here it is in her own words:
