Carrie Underwood is a true success story. She’s one of the two biggest names to come from the most influential music television competition show of all-time, American Idol. She’s a multi-platinum selling recording artist with 18 number one hits. She’s a winner of six Grammy Awards, sixteen Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards, and eleven Academy of Country Music Awards as well as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Needless to say, she is a country superstar in every sense of the word.
To add to the ever-growing list of accomplishments, Underwood was named to Time Magazine’s “Most Influential List” last week.
Fellow country star and good friend, Brad Paisley, had nothing but glowing things to say about Carrie and this new honor.
He shared: “I remember Carrie Underwood early on telling me how badly she wanted to earn her place in our industry. It was 2005, and she had just won American Idol and had her first No. 1 song. Fast-forward to 2014. Not only has she earned her place, she’s also raised the bar. She’s a prolific songwriter, a trendsetter and an Opry member. She can sing the fire out of a song and tell a joke. I’m always amazed at her comedic timing and instincts when we co-host the CMA Awards.”
And what may have been Paisley’s best compliment of all while acknowledging Underwood, he went on to say: “So many young girls want to be just like her. In that sense, I see hope for the world. If I had a daughter, nothing would make me happier than to hear her say she wanted to grow up to be like Carrie Underwood.”
Congratulations to Carrie!!
