Kellie Pickler has finally found a new home! The country music sweetheart was just announced this morning as the newest addition to the artist roster at Black River Entertainment. The label is already home to Craig Morgan, Due West, Glen Templeton, and Sarah Darling.

Gordon Kerr, CEO of Black River Entertainment, was pretty excited about the announcement. He shares:

“In looking for a label partner, I was really drawn to the Black River family because they hold similar values that I do.  From our initial meeting, it was clear to me how much the entire team respects the artists’ musical vision, and I’m really looking forward to getting back into the studio to record and release new music to country radio.”

Kellie released her latest album “100 Proof” earlier this year. Tim McGraw Signs With Big Machine Records

Tim McGraw

Big Machine Records announced today (May 21) that country music superstar Tim McGraw has signed with them for a worldwide recording deal.  McGraw and the powerhouse label group will release new music to be distributed worldwide by Universal Music Group.  This next phase in McGraw’s career will be lead by some of the most dynamic and successful thinkers in the music industry today.

Many people know that I came to Nashville 23 years ago on a Greyhound bus with nothing but a guitar…And 23 years to the day, on May 9, I went back to the bus station and officially signed this deal.  It was a significant way for me to mark this new beginning.  Scott Borchetta has developed a powerhouse at Big Machine, and I’m happy to be a part of what he has built and to call Big Machine Records my new label home. Excited doesn’t even begin to describe how I’m feeling about working on a new album for this next chapter in my career. Here’s to the next 20 years!

Scott Borchetta, President and CEO of the Big Machine Label Group, said:

I’ve always felt a kinship to Tim as my dad (Mike) originally signed Tim to Curb Records.  We have wanted to work together for years and I can’t believe this day has finally come.  His level of artistry, vision, passion and energy comes along only so many times in any given era and I can tell you with the utmost confidence that there are many, many important chapters left to write.

McGraw will join a star-studded roster of talent that includes Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, and Reba McEntire, along with many of country music’s most promising rising stars.  Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, said:

I’m so pleased to add the great superstar Tim McGraw to our incredible Nashville family of distributed labels…Tim’s accomplishments reach around the world and we intend to exert the full compliment of global support to Tim’s new releases on Big Machine Records.

McGraw is set to join longtime friend Kenny Chesney this summer on what is anticipated to be the biggest stadium tour in country music history.  For more info on the Brothers of the Sun Tour, visit www.timmcgraw.com.

Welcome to Nashville, Artist Concepts!

1276_chris-young

What could be a better combination than a successful business manager, a hit songwriter, and a chart-topping recording artist? That is precisely what Becky Harris, Anthony Smith, and RCA recording artist Chris Young asked themselves when they teamed up to create Artist Concepts, a production and artist development company. While all three will be searching for new talent, each brings a unique skill set to the table and will handle their specialized aspect of the company as well.

Artist Concepts recently signed alumnae of Belmont University, Brinley Addington. Anthony Smith is currently accepting song submissions through e-mail at artistconcepts@yahoo.com. Brinley has also signed a publishing contract with Razor & Tie. To get a sneak peek at Addington, you can visit his website, www.brinleyaddington.com, follow him on Twitter @Brinley_, and climb aboard the ship for the Blake Shelton & Friends Cruise, as Brinley was just added to the line-up.

We would like to wish Artist Concepts and Brinley Addington the best of luck as they begin their journey together. We are looking forward to hearing big things from this camp in the near future!
