The Bobby Bones Show is now in Nashville!

Last Tuesday, February 19th, we here at Keepin’ It Country had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Bobby Bones to Nashville! The press conference took place at the Ford Theater in the Country Music Hall of Fame, where Bobby and his radio crew answered questions and took photos with some of Bobby’s favorite country stars, who were invited to help welcome him to his new city.

To start off the conference, Brad Paisley (although he couldn’t be there in attendance) shared a special video message announcing that he would be Bobby’s first guest on Monday, February 25th. The Big 98′s AntMan and Amy Paige then hosted a question & answer session with Bobby, opening up questions to anyone in attendance. Some of the country stars in attendance at the conference were Brett Eldridge, Charlie Worsham, Chris Janson, Craig Campbell, Dustin Lynch, Eric Paslay, The Farm, Gloriana, Greg Bates, Jake Owen, Jana Kramer, Joe Nichols, Joel Crouse, Josh Thompson, Jon Pardi, Kristin Kelly, and Parmalee.

“Thank you guys all for coming, it really means a lot to me and I’m gonna play your records a whole lot more since you’re here” Bobby joked, to all the artists who took their time to attend.

Bobby informed us that he grew up on country and he already feels at home in the transition from hosting on Top 40 radio to Country. ”To entertain and be with country music, it just feels so natural, and I feel like there is a big wide open avenue for a show like ours that makes people laugh, that relates and identifies with the new generation of country. I think that’s our goal and that’s what we’re set here to do.”

The Bobby Bones Show first started in Austin, TX in 2003. It debuted in Nashville on February 18th, 2013 and is now syndicated on Country radio stations nationwide. You can tune in Monday through Friday from 5 to 10am central time.

We’re glad to have you here in Nashville, Bobby! You can check out our photos from the event below!

Joel Crouse releases debut single on Show Dog-Universal

Joel Crouse. photo credit: Jim Wright.

Born and raised in Holland, Mass., Show Dog-Universal Music recording artist, Joel Crouse, penned his first song at the ripe age of 14, formed a band by age 15, graduated from high school by age 16, and signed a record deal by age 19. Now, at age 20, he has released his first single, “If You Want Some,” to country radio and iTunes on February 5. Crouse co-wrote the up-tempo party anthem alongside acclaimed songwriter Luke Laird (No. 1 Billboard singles include Blake Shelton’s “Hillbilly Bone,” Rodney Atkins “Take a Back Road,” Eric Church’s “Drink in My Hand” and Little Big Town‘s “Pontoon”) and his producer Jamie Houston (High School Musical, Christina Aguilera).

“My life has definitely changed in the past couple years,” states Crouse. “I’ve been on the road the last few months visiting country radio, and that’s just been incredible. I’m very thankful.”

Crouse grew up performing in his father’s church, but credits his grandfather for introducing him to country music.

“We called him ‘Big Guy,’ and he lived with us while I was growing up. I guess I was 12 years old when he first took me down to the music store, bought me a guitar and set me up with lessons,” shares Crouse.

Crouse was introduced to Houston through a mutual friend, Brandon Creed (Manager for Bruno Mars) shortly after Crouse graduated high school.

“We began working on music immediately and knew we both wanted to make a really cool sounding record,” Crouse reflects. “Jamie blows me away every time we’re in the studio because his ear is so unbelievable.”

Houston notes, “I think what was most unique about Joel — especially being the age that he is — was how hard of a worker he was in the studio. When we would write a song, he would sing in the room as we were writing it but then come back a few days later and he would have it all worked out — all the lifts, peaks and valleys — and he nailed it. I think he has a lot to contribute to country music stylistically.”

“For someone that young to know who they are as an artist is really impressive,” says Laird. “He’s just one of those that has a natural gift for the songwriting process, and just knows who he is as an artist.”

Crouse spent 2012 road testing his music for the fans, opening for Rodney Atkins, Sara Evans, the Goo Goo Dolls, Toby Keith, and Darius Rucker and will perform several shows with The Band Perry in 2013.

Emerson Drive releases Crazy new single

emersondrive

A tour. An album. And now the official release of a new single to American radio.

Canadian group Emerson Drive announces the release of a brand new single, “She’s My Kind of Crazy,” the lead single from ROLL, the band’s much anticipated new studio album. The song has had over 20,000 iTunes downloads, in just under three months, and sees over 40 spins per week on Sirius XM’s “The Highway.” The flurry of activity forced an earlier release date of ROLL to January 22nd.

“Our fans have been wonderfully loud in asking us for new music here in the U.S.,” said lead singer Brad Mates. “We knew ‘Crazy’ needed to be heard and we’ve worked hard the last few months to make it available digitally and now to ask our friends at radio to give us a shot.”

On YouTube, the video (directed Emerson Drive’s David Pichette) is closing in on half a million views!

Emerson Drive makes hit music, period. “I Should Be Sleeping,” “Fall Into Me,” and their emotional, chart-topping ballad, “Moments,” have all racked up nominations and awards in both the U.S. and Canada.

After taking some time off following their 2009 release, BELIEVE, Emerson Drive have propelled themselves back into the spotlight with a new album and a brand new single that is gaining notoriety in both the United States and Canada.

ROLL, contains 11 songs penned mostly by the members of Emerson Drive, was co-produced by Emerson Drive and David Kamulsky. The new release showcases the band’s growth and maturity with its lyrical content, vocal range and instrumentation, which has made them one of country music’s most loved bands.

Brantley Gilbert Dating Jana Kramer

Jana Kramer & Brantley Gilbert.

Brantley Gilbert let a pretty big secret slip during a recent radio interview. Turns out the country rocker has been dating actress-turned-singer Jana Kramer. The pair met for the first time while at the CMT Awards this past June. During an interview with Atlanta radio station WKHX’s morning show, Brantley admitted that they were a couple. Cadillac Jack, one of the morning show personalities, saw a picture of Brantley in Jana’s bunk while interviewing her on her bus last week.

After much persuasion from the show’s hosts, Brantley finally said:

“To answer your question, yes. And and I’m a very, very happy man. Yes, I am with Jana Kramer.”
