Dierks Bentley to open Whiskey Row

Multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley will open a bar in his home state of Arizona this summer, with the grand opening of Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row set for July 4. Located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale’s entertainment district, Bentley teamed up with Ryan Hibbert, Mike Troyan and Jon Wright, owners of Riot Hospitality Group (RHG) and operators of El Hefe Super Macho Taqueria for the throwback 1920′s style saloon with a modern country vibe.

It’s a pretty exciting new project for Dierks, who explains:

“Opening a bar in my hometown is something I’ve always wanted to do. These guys have spent a lot of time and put a lot of thought into really cool details that will make it the perfect place to watch a game or listen to music or just get a few drinks with friends.  I’m looking forward to helping break it in.”

Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row will be the first of its kind to enter Scottsdale; it will have an old school country flare with a Scottsdale twist. With warm wood surroundings, the venue features a 360-degree stage and massive 24 ft. TV. Being the most technologically advanced bar in the state, Whiskey Row boasts a state of the art HDMI video system managed by iPad technology which can control the video and sound from anywhere in the room. As an added benefit to guests, Whiskey Row will offer iPhone and USB charging stations available at the bar. Each premiere booth will feature three different beer taps and never before seen in Arizona, a liquor tap. These hi-tech taps will allow guests to pour their own beer and shots right at the table with no waiting.

The venue will serve a familiar American Gastropub Fare cuisine with a modern twist. All menu items will be made from scratch in house, using organic meats and locally farmed produce. Not only will the menu offer mouth-watering entrees but will feature sweet tooth-curbing desserts such as bourbon vanilla bean ice cream and a signature Arizona honey pecan ice cream topped on a warm apple fritter. The drink menu is just as unique with a new version of a boilermaker, which is a shot of whiskey dropped into a glass of beer. The bar is also set to offer 40 different types of whiskey. Reservations can be made by visiting the website at DierksWhiskeyRow.com and the venue will be located at 4420 N. Saddlebag Trail in Scottsdale, AZ.

Will you be making the trip to check it out? What country artist do you think should have their own bar next?

Looks like the cool new thing to do in country music is to start your own shoe line. Less than three weeks after Miranda Lambert announced her own shoe line will hit stores in 2014, country’s superstar Taylor Swift announced today that she will be releasing her own next month. It’s an expansion with her project with Keds last fall, which she released a limited edition red shoe in honor of her album “Red” on Big Machine. Now Taylor will have an entire line with Keds Champion Sneakers with all sorts of fun designs – stars, animal paw prints, stripes, guitars, sunglasses, and other cute girly prints.

Fans can take a sneak peek at a few designs on the Keds site, with more to come in select Keds retailers, and online, in May. For more information, check out the official Bravegirl website here – and enter to win a cool Taylor Swift contest to meet the superstar.

The Band Perry get their own Gigi Cupcakes

The Band Perry.

In true “Pioneer” fashion, The Band Perry pushes the envelope once more and has become the first recording artists to have a Gigi’s cupcake named after them. The new cupcake called, VERY PERRY CHOCOLATE CHERRY, was inspired by The Band Perry’s new music, a song in particular called “I’m A Keeper,” from the band’s iTunes Country chart topping CD, “Pioneer.”

How cool would it be to have a cupcake named after you? Kimberly Perry knew exactly what flavor it would have to be:

“When we heard that we might have a Gigi’s cupcake named after us we knew right away what the flavor would be. There is a song on our new album that has a line in it that says, ‘I’m gonna change my name to Cherry….,’ so we decided that the cupcake had to be some kind of a cherry cupcake.”

Neil added with a big smile:

“When Gigi brought the cupcakes by for uas to taste them, she provided two cherry versions for us to sample and then offer our opinions on. I really couldn’t tell after trying the first one, so I had to eat several just to make sure. You know, quality control and all.”

Reid Perry explains how the final product came to be:

“We decided to take both versions of the cherry cupcakes and combine them. What came out of that is a cherry batter cake, with chunks of cherry topped with chocolate icing, and a cherry on top. They are delicious. So delicious, that I will be running the stairs after all of our shows now!”

Gigi’s will be selling VERY PERRY CHOCOLATE CHERRY two days a week in all of their stores nationwide, but that’s not the only treat for patrons. Cupcake lovers can enjoy some great music by The Band Perry while they are visiting Gigi’s and they can purchase the new CD “Pioneer” right there in the Gigi’s store.

Miranda Lambert to design own shoes

Miranda Lambert. photo credit: W magazine.

Miranda Lambert has become many things the past few years: a superstar singer-songwriter, a member of an all-girls trio, a store owner, a married woman, and a record breaker – but now she’s about to add one more thing to her resume… designer. The Texan firecracker will be designing her own line of women’s footwear for select Canadian and American retail outlets through Rich Footwear Group.  Her line will range from casual to dress shoes, sandals, and boots.

Miranda is super excited about her new venture. She shares:

“From country to rock n roll my goal is to style shoes that fit your inner outlaw… Being involved in the creative part and hands on development of my footwear brand is a dream come true.”

With the shoe line that’s expected to be available in Department Stores, Speciality Footwear and National Retail Chains across the US and Canada in early 2014, Miranda continues to hone her entrepreneurial skills. She recently celebrated the grand opening of her lifestyle retail store, “The Pink Pistol,” in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. She works tirelessly with her charity MuttNation Foundation, which has raised nearly half a million dollars for the betterment of dogs and cats.

The Grammy award winning and reigning ACM and CMA Female vocalist of the year also oversees all aspects of her career including her current “Locked & Reloaded” Tour with Dierks Bentley. All four of her albums have debuted atop Billboards Country Album Chart, the first female to achieve that feat in the 48-year history of the chart. Miranda is excited to take her unique experiences and style to a new stage with Rich Footwear.

What do you think about Miranda starting her own footwear line? Will you be checking it out when it comes out in 2014? Or would you rather have country singers stick to their music? Sound off below!

Kenny Chesney launches his own rum

Kenny Chesney.

Looks like the thing to do these days is to start your own alcohol line. Coming as no surprise to many country fans, superstar Kenny Chesney announced today that he will be launching his very own rum line, Blue Chair Bay Rum, this May. It will be available in retail stores.

About why he’s making the decision to have his very own rum, Kenny said:

“Everybody’s always expected this from me. There have been people who’ve approached us, stories that have gone around over the years. But rum is what I drink, and I always told myself: if I was going to do this, I wanted to create something I could be really proud of! Not just take a check and a piece of a company, but make the rum I truly wanted to drink.”

It’s a project that he’s been working pretty hard on for over a year. If you know Kenny, you know he never stops working at anything he’s doing, so I’m pretty sure we can expect his rum line to be fantastic.

“You know me, when I get my heart set on doing something, I will give it my complete attention. I didn’t know I was building a company or making a rum until I was waist deep, but I’m glad we did. I think anyone who enjoys rum is gonna love this.”

Toby Keith is another country superstar with his own highly sucessful alcohol line – Wild Shot Mezcal. What other country star do you think could branch off into alcohol?

Miranda Lambert Opening Store in Oklahoma

Miranda Lambert.

Miranda Lambert fans might remember the singer tweeting pictures of husband Blake Shelton helping put together a store earlier this year. A day after the couple took over the CMA Awards, Miranda told The Boot all the details on her brand new store – including when it will open and what fans can expect to purchase.

Miranda, who will be opening the store near her farm she lives on in Tishomingo, Oklahoma says:

“We’re having the Grand Opening the day after Thanksgiving, on Black Friday, only we’re calling it Pink Friday,” Miranda tells The Boot. “We’re going to make it a tradition to turn the block pink every year at that time.”

There isn’t one thing in particular the store will carry, she explains:

“It’s antiques, gifts, boots, jeans and pretty much everything you can imagine. My favorite thing in the store is a glittery pink bicycle hanging from the ceiling. I’m really 12 at heart,” she adds with a laugh

The Pink Pistol will be located at 214 West Main Street in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. It’s for “the Wild At Heart,” or so its slogan says. Check out the official, but still under construction website: thepinkpistol.com.

Taylor Swift Exhibit Opens in Phoenix

Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift fans who don’t want to travel all the way to Nashville to check out some cool memorabilia from her tours are in luck! The Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix, Arizona just opened a brand new Taylor exhibit on October 20th! The exhibit features her on-stage outfits, instruments, and memorabilia from the superstar singer-songwriter’s career. With her new album “RED” in stores this week, its the perfect time for Taylor fans to visit the new feature at MIM!

The space dedicated to Taylor in Phoenix is the largest ever for a single artist, matched only by one for Elvis Presley. Her display is located in the Artist Gallery. It starts off with how she learned to play guitar and to releasing her first single “Tim McGraw.” The exhibit has the original hand-written lyrics for “Tim McGraw” on display! Other one-of-a-kind items on display in Taylor’s exhibit include her signature Taylor KOA guitar from the music video, six-string acoustic, and cowboy boots.

The second section of the display shows her rise to super stardom with her instruments, stage wear, and set pieces from the “Speak Now World Tour.” Items on display are her sparkly red Gibson Les Paul electric guitar, and her gold Roberto Cavalli dress from her performances of “Mine” during the tour. Also from the tour are her Deering banjo and a Leilani ukelele. The centerpiece of this exhibit is a large prop bell that was featured as an interactive set piece during performances of “Haunted”.

“Not only is Taylor Swift one of the most successful musical artists in the world, she is also a multi-instrumentalist and an extraordinarily talented songwriter,” said Dr. Bill DeWalt, MIM’s president and director. “We are honored to showcase some of the important artifacts from Swift’s career, and we hope this exhibit inspires our guests of all ages to play an instrument and make their own music.”

Recent additions to MIM’s Artist Gallery include exhibits honoring “Pretty Woman” singer Roy Orbison, celebrated cellist Pablo Casals, and jazz luminary Joey DeFrancesco. MIM also recently “remixed” the Elvis Presley exhibit with new instruments, jumpsuits, and artifacts focused on his performances and movie-making stint in Arizona to celebrate the state’s centennial. Upcoming Artist Gallery additions include a display for Kronos Quartet opening in early November.

Jana Kramer Stars in New Indie Movie

jana kramer

Looks like we’ll be seeing Jana Kramer back in an acting role next year! She’s starring in an independent film titled “Heart of the Country,” as Faith – a country girl who returns to Southern life after her husband is accused of white-collar criminal charges. Jana formerly starred on the tv series One Tree Hill, so acting isn’t out of the ordinary for the country singer.

While there is no major distributor for the movie, it was produced by Bayridge Films and shot in Cape Fear over the Summer. The film is still in production and is expected for release in early 2013. Producers have said that it will be seen by the public, with hopes that a deal will happen when the movie is in post-production.

Check out the trailer for the movie below and let us know if you’re planning on catching it when it’s released.
