Country music, and sometimes television star, Craig Morgan was the recipient of a pretty special award this holiday weekend. He joined members of the 108th General Assembly of the State of Tennessee on the House Chamber floor at the State Capitol late last week for a reading of House Joint Resolution No. 540.  The Resolution honors Craig as a distinguished citizen of the state of Tennessee for his notable military service, charity initiatives, and the impact he has made through his many musical contributions.

Check out the picture below of Craig’s special moment.. and new beard!

Clive Davis responds to Kelly Clarkson’s criticism

Kelly Clarkson.

Looks like the Kelly Clarkson vs Clive Davis feud just got a little messier. Music mogul Clive Davis responded this morning to an open letter posted by Kelly, where she claims he lied in his new Memoir “Soundtrack of My Life.” In his new book, Clive claims that Kelly cried over him wanting to put her mega-hit anthem “Since U Been Gone” and the rockier “Behind These Hazel Eyes” on her GRAMMY award winning album “Breakaway.” Kelly claims that the story is mixed up with him not liking her “Because Of You” single.

Clive released his own open letter on Twitter just now, saying:

“As anyone who has read “The Soundtrack of My Life” knows, I think Kelly Clarkson is a tremendous vocal talent and performer. In the book, I provide an in-depth look at our years together during which we shared major multi-platinum success, as well as a few creative differences. I am truly very sorry that she has decided to take issue with what I know to be an accurate depiction of our time together. Before the book was published, I had every fact checked with five independent individuals who were present on a daily basis throughout it all. The chapter as it is written was thoroughly verified by each and every one of them. I stand by the chapter as written in my book. At the same time I wish, and will always wish, Kelly’s talent and her career to soar to ever new heights.”

This fight is turning into a he-said-she-said battle. So, KIC readers, who do you think was telling the truth? Are you on Team Kelly or Team Clive?

Who do you think is telling the truth?

VIDEO: Kelly Clarkson Performs at Presidential Inauguration

kelly+clarkson

Once upon a time, Kelly Clarkson won a little show called American Idol. And then she did a ton of awesomely impressive stuff. However, she may have topped it all today. Backed by the United States Marine Band, KC did America proud, taking to the steps of the Capitol to perform “America (My Country ‘Tis of Thee)” at the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. Who knew the song had so many verses?!

After the performance, Clarkson jokingly tweeted, “Wow ….I was incredibly nervous and cold ha! I just wanna officially thank President Obama for opening for me haha! Just kidding :)”

Check out Kelly’s stirring performance below…I don’t know about you, but this song never sounded so good in my elementary school home room.

Hank Williams Jr. Says He Was “Misunderstood”

Hank Williams Jr.

Hank Williams Jr. released a statement to TMZ tonight saying his comments about President Obama were “misunderstood.” He was on Fox News this morning and compared Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler. In his statement, Hank Williams Jr says:

“Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood. My analogy was extreme – but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me – how ludicrous that pairing was.”

He continues, “They’re polar opposites and it made no sense. They don’t see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the President.”

Read the full statement on TMZ’s website HERE. ESPN has decided to drop Hank Williams Jr from their Monday Night Football intro videos as a result of his comments this morning. In their statement on the decision, ESPN said:

“While Hank Williams Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize he is closely linked to our company through the opening to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result have decided to pull the open from tonight’s telecast.”

Do you think ESPN made the right move by dropping someone not on staff over comments made on Fox News?

Trace Adkins Sits Down With Piers Morgan

Trace Adkins.

Trace Adkins and Piers Morgan had a mini-Celebrity Apprentice reunion on Wednesday night (8-10) when Trace sat down with Morgan on his CNN talk show “Piers Morgan Tonight”. Among the topics discussed were Trace’s new album “Proud To Be Here” and the debt limit in the United States.

Wonder if Donald Trump tuned in to watch? He has a lot of opinions on politics and he knows these two guys personally. I think he should’ve guest-starred, too! What do y’all think?
