Jason Aldean files for divorce
Jason Aldean has filed for divorce from his wife, and TMZ has sent us the official documents. The country music superstar married his high school sweetheart Jessica Ussery, who has been by his side since the start of his career. The pair were not together at the Academy of Country Music Awards Red Carpet earlier this month. Jason, whose last name is legally Williams, filed on April 26th, for irreconcilable differences. They have two daughters together, Keeley and Kendyl.
Jason released a statement late yesterday about his divorce proceedings:
“This is a really tough time for my entire family. Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple. She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our #1 priority.
I’ve learned that everyone always rushes to judgment when they hear news like this. That’s really hard because no one knows anything about our relationship but us. I understand that because of my job, I have to go through a lot of this in the public eye, but for my girls’ sake I really wish people would give us some level of privacy and at the very least be respectful of them.”

Blake Shelton to Officiate Kelly Clarkson’s Wedding
It’s no secret that Blake Shelton is a modern-day Renaissance man. He’s a singer, host, Voice-coach, professional tweeting entertainer extraordinaire. However, he’s adding a new role to his repertoire: minister.
Now now, pick up your jaw from the floor. Blake isn’t dumping Miranda for a monastery or anything crazy. However, he will be officiating the wedding between his pals, Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock.
Although they have yet to nail down a date, Clarkson revealed to “Entertainment Tonight”‘s Nancy O’Dell that the nuptials will take place this October with Blake at the altar. Although some would be worried about entrusting their wedding to Shelton, Clarkson has the utmost trust in her bud’s poise. Plus, she’s admits, she’ll already be married. “Well, you’re technically already married when the ceremony happens. So it’s not like it’s gonna be null and void or anything ’cause it’s Blake.”
Clarkson also revealed that she already has a dress, and that she isn’t the only superstar Blake will be marrying! Watch the interview below!
Julianne Hough victim of jewelry theft
Former country singer Julianne Hough was a victim of a pretty serious car theft in Los Angeles on Friday night. The singer/actress/dancer left $100,000 worth of jewelry in her Mercedes at a Hollywood apartment complex while visiting a friend. When she came back to the lot afterwards, everything was missing… and what’s worse is that the three pricey pieces of jewelry were a gift from her boyfriend, Ryan Seacrest. Included in the theft was a $50,000 watch, reports TMZ.
There were no signs of visible forced entry on the scene, so its possible that she left her car unlocked. The “That Song In My Head” singer had found the car door left wide open.
Brantley Gilbert & Jana Kramer Engaged!
Congratulations to country’s very own Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer! The pair announced their engagement earlier this week. Brantley popped the big question on Sunday night at the historic Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
In an interview with People magazine, Brantley shared:
“We could not be happier! We are so excited to share this special time with our loved ones and cannot wait to start the rest of our lives together.”
Jana added:
“I was so surprised! He asked my mom for permission before he proposed, which meant a lot to me.”
Jana will be heading to Kansas on Monday, February 11th to perform a special benefit concert for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Tickets are already on-sale and are available at KDFI.com for only $15 each!
Brantley will be making his acting debut on ABC’s hit drama “Nashville” tonight. Catch the episode at 9 pm CST / 10 pm EST on ABC. Chris Young will also appear on the episode, and both country stars will play themselves, as they attend a party thrown by main character Rayna James.
Dierks Bentley and Dog Jake Say Thanks
This past Sunday (1/13), country superstar Dierks Bentley went to Twitter to share with his followers that his dog Jake had gone missing. Luckily, he received word on Monday via Facebook that his pooch had been found.
Dierks had this to say on Twitter after being reunited with Jake:
“One of the happiest days of my life. grown men don’t cry…yeah right. thank you to everyone on Facebook and Twitter that spread the word … Can’t get over how many people reached out about Jake. made a big city feel like a small town.”

Kelly Clarkson Announces Engagement to Brandon Blackstock
Kelly Clarkson finally got her big moment like this on Friday, December 14th, accepting a proposal (and huge rock) from boyfriend/talent manager/country-music-prince, Brandon Blackstock. The overjoyed pop-country star took to Twitter on Saturday afternoon, revealing the big news in a jubilant tweet. She tweeted, “I’M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y’all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever :)”
Her excitement continued a little bit later, when she revealed a photo of the huge new piece of bling taking up major real estate on her left hand. She wrote, “Everyone has been asking about my engagement ring, so here it is :) It’s a yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it and Brandon designed it with Johnathon Arndt!”
For those keeping score and playing six degrees of Kelly Clarkson, her ring was designed by the same guy who made Carrie Underwood‘s stunner, while her new fiance manages Blake Shelton, while being the stepson of Reba. Talk about some major country connections!
Congrats to the happy couple. We can’t wait to see wedding pics!
Miranda Lambert Loads Her “Pink Pistol” for Grand Opening
Miranda Lambert may be the reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, but she’s about to add another title to her already-impressive resume: store owner. On November 23, Miranda’s store, the Pink Pistol will open its doors in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
The grand opening festivities will include Pink-aoke for everyone to sing their favorite song, marching bands and, the 1st Annual Pink Pistol Princess Pageant. The pre-selected contestants will be judged on the creativity of their PINK costumes, their spunkiness and their sass. We have to wonder if Miranda will don her “Honey Boo Boo” Halloween costume for the pageant!
The store is described as one “For The Wild at Heart” and will carry a variety of merchandise, hand-selected by Miranda. The store will be stocked with handmade boots and belts from Corral, Farm Boy & Farm Girl clothing and home goods, items from Junk Gypsy including clothing, jewelry and other accessories plus much more. “It’s antiques, gifts, boots, jeans and pretty much everything you can imagine,” said Miranda.
Thomas Rhett to Marry Childhood Sweetheart
Time is quickly ticking down for singer-songwriter Thomas Rhett! He’s engaged to his childhood sweetheart Lauren Gregory. The pair met when they both went to first grade together, and started dating at fifteen. They broke up, but quickly found their way back to each other. They dated for another eight months after college before Thomas finally proposed.
The future Mr and Mrs Rhett will get married this October. The ceremony will take place just outside Nashville, Tennessee. We wish them the best!
Brantley Gilbert Dating Jana Kramer
Brantley Gilbert let a pretty big secret slip during a recent radio interview. Turns out the country rocker has been dating actress-turned-singer Jana Kramer. The pair met for the first time while at the CMT Awards this past June. During an interview with Atlanta radio station WKHX’s morning show, Brantley admitted that they were a couple. Cadillac Jack, one of the morning show personalities, saw a picture of Brantley in Jana’s bunk while interviewing her on her bus last week.
After much persuasion from the show’s hosts, Brantley finally said:
“To answer your question, yes. And and I’m a very, very happy man. Yes, I am with Jana Kramer.”

PHOTOS: Kellie Pickler Shaves Hair For Cancer
Kellie Pickler has stood beside her best friend, Summer Holt Miller, throughout her friend’s breast cancer diagnosis. The pair, who affectionately call each other “sisters,” have been beside each other since the diagnosis in June. Yesterday, in Nashville, Kellie took a big step of support for her friend by shaving her hair. The girls are trying to promote awareness of early detection of breast cancer, and revealed their new looks on ABC’s Good Morning America today. The pair shared Summer’s story, who was just 36 years old when she found out the news.
“Cancer does not discriminate,” an emphatic Pickler shared with viewers. “If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it,” Miller echoed.
Summer, who was aware of her family history with breast cancer, had always been cautious with her self-examinations. However, the mother of two had not been diligent with her doctor and requested a mammogram. Had the tumor not been detected so early it would have been fatal. She will undergo chemotherapy this week and has already been through a double mastectomy.
A behind-the-scenes video of the girls getting their hair cuts and sharing their story is available on athenawater.com. Athena will make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Summer’s honor. They’ll be donating a minimum of $2 million for cancer awareness, care, and research by 2014.
