Taylor Swift fan mail found in dumpster

Taylor Swift.

Some interesting news is coming out of Nashville this week about Taylor Swift. An avid Taylor fan found a recyling dumpster full of fan mail addressed to the country/pop superstar in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Some of the letters were opened, but the majority were still unopened, with letters coming from as far away as Japan. The fan called a local news station, News 2, to make sure that Taylor became aware of the fan mail disposal and to make sure it wasn’t done on purpose.

Kylee, the fan, told the station:

“I was like, ‘That’s weird,’” she told Nashville’s News 2 Investigates.  “There were like hundreds of letters in there to Taylor Swift and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I didn’t know if they were stolen [or] discarded, so I threw them in a box. And I’m like, ‘Somebody needs to let Taylor know.’”

See the full story below from the news report and let us know what you think – should Taylor’s management have thrown out the letters?

Gaylord Entertainment Changing Name

Gaylord Entertainment

If the sale to Marriott goes through as planned, Gaylord Entertainment will be using a new name for the brand and its properties. They will be highlighting their ownership of the historic Ryman Auditorium with their new name: Ryman Hospitality Properties Inc. That’s only if the $210 million USD deal is approved today by the shareholders.

With the impeding sale to Marriott, Gaylord Entertainment will give all rights of its properties, including its resort hotels, to the company – but will maintain ownership. They also recently announced plans to give the rights of General Jackson Showboat and the Wildhorse Saloon to Marriott. Gaylord Entertainment CEO Colin Reed has said repeatedly that they will still own and manage the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman, and the Opry’s radio station – WSM-AM.

According to bizjournals.com, Gaylord has been quoted as wanting to turn into a real estate investment trust if shareholders approve.
