Travis Tritt to Narrate Walt Disney Biopic

Country star Travis Tritt will be lending his distinct voice to a new project this year, acting as narrator on a new Walt Disney biopic. The film, titled As Dreamers Do, is set to be released independently this spring.

“When I first read through the script in my head, it was in the voice of Travis Tritt,” said director Logan Sekulow. “I grew up listening to him and I’m a big fan. This role needed someone who could be warm and that the audience could trust. I was thrilled when I heard that he wanted to do it. As a director, it is great to see the vision you have play out on film exactly how it did in your head.”

In addition to narrating, Tritt has written a song for the movie, entitled “That’s What Dreamers Do.” View the trailer for As Dreamers Do, which includes a clip of Tritt’s narration, on

Jana Kramer Stars in New Indie Movie

jana kramer

Looks like we’ll be seeing Jana Kramer back in an acting role next year! She’s starring in an independent film titled “Heart of the Country,” as Faith – a country girl who returns to Southern life after her husband is accused of white-collar criminal charges. Jana formerly starred on the tv series One Tree Hill, so acting isn’t out of the ordinary for the country singer.

While there is no major distributor for the movie, it was produced by Bayridge Films and shot in Cape Fear over the Summer. The film is still in production and is expected for release in early 2013. Producers have said that it will be seen by the public, with hopes that a deal will happen when the movie is in post-production.

Check out the trailer for the movie below and let us know if you’re planning on catching it when it’s released.

As we made note of last month in this article, Keith Urban recorded an original song for the upcoming action-thrilled Act of Valor.  The film, which will be in theatres February 24, 2012, is the first film Keith has wrote and recorded a song for.

Keith commented on the film, stating:

“I was drawn to a scene in the film where you witness an act of supreme self-sacrifice. And I thought to myself, I see what they believe in. I see what they live their life for … Now, what do believe in? What am I willing to give my life to? So from there, my co-writer and I set about writing the song.”

Keith Urban Records Original Song For Upcoming Film

Perhaps being married to a famous actress is rubbing off on Keith Urban. He recently penned and recorded a track that will be featured in a motion picture.

“For You,” co-written by Monty Powell, was created for the upcoming Navy SEAL action-thriller Act of Valor. This is the first track that Keith has wrote for a motion picture. It will be featured during the film’s end credits.

“I loved the challenge of writing for a film,” said Urban. “I’ve never done that before. After seeing Act Of Valor, my co-writer (Monty Powell) and I wanted to capture the essence of not only what these men and women do so extraordinarily, but how that relates to all of us. ‘Valor’ shows us what they are willing to give their all for, which made me wonder, ‘what am I willing to give my life for?’ ‘For You’ is intended to allow the listener to define who that is for them.”

The film, in theatres February 24, 2012, illustrates a story of contemporary global anti-terrorism. The soundtrack will be available digitally on iTunes and physically in stores on Tuesday, February 21. Additional original songs from more of today’s best country artists will be featured on the soundtrack.

VIDEO: Rock Of Ages Trailer

Rock of Ages Poster

Broadway’s hit musical, Rock of Ages, is slated to hit theaters nationwide in June 2012, and country sweetheart, Julianne Hough, stars as the female lead. Hough will play opposite Diego Gonzalez Boneta, who is best known for his role on “Pretty Little Liars.” The all-star cast also includes Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, Mary J. Blige, “Watchmen” actress Malin Akerman, and “Breaking Bad” actor Bryan Cranston.

Rock of Ages is one of my very favorite Broadway shows, and I cannot wait for the movie especially with Hough in the starring role!

Taylor Swift In The Running For Movie Role

Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift: singer, songwriter, perfume, card and snow globe maker… and now full-time movie star? It could be true according to the New York Post. She’s in the running for a role in the film adaption of “Les Miserables.” She’s competing against Lea Michelle, Evan Rachel Wood and Scarlett Johansson – a tough crowd. Taylor auditioned for the role of Eponine, and if she gets the role, she’d star alongside Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway.

If the rumors are true then it looks like we’ll be seeing even more of the country star in the next few years. She previously had a role in the 2010 “Valentine’s Day,” so it wouldn’t be the first time she’s found her place on the big screen.

“I love New York. I would love to be in New York and do broadway.”
