Prepare To Party: Former Contestants From “The Voice” Staging Special Show

the vocie after party

The Voice comes to an end next week with either Jermaine Paul (Team Blake), Tony Lucca (Team Adam), Juliet Simms (Team Cee Lo) or Chris Mann (Team Christina) walking away as the winner.

We’re well aware of what the final four are up to.  But what about some of our favorite second season singers who have come and gone?  On Wednesday (May 9) we’ll all get the chance to catch up with a big bunch of them.

More than a dozen former contestants from this season are coming together for what’s being billed as “The After Party” show.  The singers will be taking to the stage for a special show at Saint Rocke, just outside of Los Angeles.

The event will not only allow fans to reconnect with some of their favorites, it will also allow the performers to keep building the bonds they formed while on the show.

Carter’s Chord Sets Premiere For “Love A Little Bigger” Video

Carter’s Chord is aiming to inspire people to live up to the title of their upcoming video “Love A Little Bigger.”  The video makes its world premiere exclusively on VEVO this coming Monday, April 16.  The Show Dog-Universal Music group will follow the premiere with a live chat on Tuesday, April 17 to talk about the video.  The chat will be available on their Facebook page and their Ustream channel.

Carter’s Chord consists of siblings Becky Robertson, Emily Fortney and  Joanna Ott.  They recently took a trip to the Dominican Republic to shoot their music video in conjunction with international humanitarian organization World Vision.

The song, written by Emily, was inspired by a trip the group took to Guatemala where they experienced first-hand the poverty people in that area were living in.  “When we made the trip to Guatemala in 2009, we were struck by the amazing need for love that exists in this world,” says Emily.  “After returning home, I sat down one afternoon and wrote this song.  As artists, our hope for the world is that we all learn to ‘Love A Little Bigger’.

RaeLynn Goes Live, Spends Sunday Online With Fans

After last week’s live show performance on The Voice that earned her a spot in the show’s Top 16, RaeLynn decided to a little live show of her own.  We’re not talking about TV or even a club gig.  This was simply RaeLynn spending part of her Easter Sunday connecting with her fans in a webcast.

Say what you will about the spunky 17-year-old from Baytown, TX, but she sure has fun.  She took the chat in every conceivable direction:  From her love of “boy bands” (especially One Direction and singer Harry Styles) to being disappointed in hearing Jake Owen got engaged (even though she said the 30-year-old Owen is pretty old) to talking about one of her friends getting a boyfriend.  She may be on her way to being a big star, but she’s still got a lot of kid in her.  That’s a good thing.

She sang little snippets of songs that fans requested and even gave some of them a huge thrill by calling them.  She even made a few surprise calls to some of her friends from The Voice so fans could hear from those people, too.  Unfortunately for her, one of those calls kind of backfired.  When she called former Team Blake member Jordan Rager, the fellow country signer didn’t know who he was talking with because he didn’t have RaeLynn’s number saved in his phone.   Oops!

As for answering questions, RaeLynn tried her best, but it was hard for her (or anyone watching) to keep up with the fast and furious flow from her fans.  Below are some of the her thoughts on various topics and answers to questions:

EXCLUSIVE: Interview With Amy Dalley

amy dalley

To say that Amy Dalley is back, wouldn’t be quite right.  That’s because the talented singer/songwriter has never really been gone.  She hasn’t had the type of career that generates huge headlines — at least not yet.  But the story of her passion for making music would be in the biggest, boldest font imaginable.

The Kingsport, TN native started her professional music career by performing at Dollywood.  In 1994 she moved to Nashville, where she eventually landed a deal with Curb Records.  During her time with Curb she charted with several singles (including “Love’s Got an Attitude (It Is What It Is)” and “Men Don’t Change”), but for some unknown reason Curb never released a full-length Amy Dalley album.

It took becoming an independent artist to get that done.  In 2009 Amy and her husband, Jack Sizemore, released her debut It’s Time on her own label, Madjack Records.

Now it’s time for her second album.  Coming Out of the Pain hits the market on March 27th, this time with Rock Ridge Music.  But just like with her first release, her husband Jack plays a major role in the recording.  Her two children even play a part this time around, inspiring songs and more.

Amy heads into the release of her new 12-track album feeling confident and in control.  Just as it was back in her days at Dollywood, her career is powered by passion.  We still don’t know if that passion will find her headlines.  But more importantly, we do know it’s already found her happiness.

Continue reading for our exclusive interview where Amy discusses the album, enjoying her independence, a special release party everyone can attend and one song in particular that will lead to a lot of “bird” watching.
