Thirteen-year-old musician, Maggie Baugh, was recently brought on stage by the legendary Charlie Daniels during a show in South Florida. Maggie, a fiddle playing extraordinaire, not only assisted Daniels during the iconic song “Devil Went Down to Georgia,” but also kicked the event off with the National Anthem.
We were so impressed with Maggie (and fell in love with her stage presence and personality) that we had to share it here with all of you! Check out the videos below from the South Florida event:
As you all know, we are having our next Stageit show this Sunday, October 20th, at 8:00pm EST with one of our staff’s favorite duos, JillandKate. However, the night just got even better, as Jill and Kate have teamed up with country music duo, Two Story Road, and the two duos will share the Keepin’ It Country Blog Presents Stageit stage as our first collaborative show to date!
We have introduced you to Jill Pickering and Kate Rapier in the past, but the girls have done so much since our initial exclusive interview with them exactly one year ago that we need to boast about some of their achievements and projects. When we introduced you to JillandKate, the girls were working hard on promoting their album Heart of Stone. The girls continue to perform their music, while continuing to entertain their fans with new and unreleased songs in their catalogs, blogging, making music videos, creating jewelry, and flying up the iTunes charts. They have also released the live version of Heart of Stone, which continues to prove why these girls are on their way to being one of the hottest duos in Nashville.
Two Story Road is categorized as a “new” country duo, but make no mistake — Jamelle and Brandon are no strangers to the country music scene! Both Belmont University graduates, Jamelle and Brandon have each hit the road with some of country music’s biggest acts and have worked with some of Nashville’s most prestigious executives. Jamelle has worked closely with Tommy Sims (Garth Brooks, Eric Clapton, and Sheryl Crow), but perhaps her biggest gig to date has been touring as a background vocalist for country powerhouse, Carrie Underwood. Brandon is also quite familiar with touring with extremely well-known artists, as he hit the road with Gretchen Wilson and Danny Gokey, also hitting the stage with Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, and Sugarland. After years of hitting the road separately, the talented couple decided to merge their talents, working with Tommy Sims and Mark Bright (Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Sara Evans), and are ready to travel their future musical path as a united front. As so eloquently stated on http://www.twostoryroad.com, the Fraleys bring to the table “[t]wo incredible stories, finally traveling down the same road.”
We are so excited to see these two duos come together on Sunday night on our very own stage. This is history in the making and would hate for any of you to miss this event! Remember, all ticket proceeds are benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, so not only are you going to experience fantastic music, but you will be supporting an amazing cause!
Country trio The Band Perry and pop/rock group Fall Out Boy will team up for the next installment of CMT Crossroads. The groups will swap stories and vocals on one another’s songs in front of an invitation-only audience in Nashville on October 2nd. The show will air on CMT on a date to be determined.
Taylor Swift has become known for her incredible and theatrical live stage shows, which often include special guests. Her “Red” Tour is currently in the midst of 3 sold out shows at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and brought out two huge country acts to join her. On night one, she was joined by Luke Bryan for “I Don’t Want This Night to End” and night two, Rascal Flatts joined her on stage for “What Hurts the Most.” We’re dying to know who she’ll bring out for night three. Watch the videos below!

This should be a good one. Country music super-group Lady Antebellum will be teaming up with the legendary Stevie Nicks for an upcoming episode of CMT Crossroads. Crossroads puts together a country artist with an artist from another genre in front of a live audience for television. The one-hour special will be titled “CMT Crossroads: Lady Antebellum and Stevie Nicks” and will air on September 13th at at 10 pm EST / 9 pm CST.
It’s the first time the pair have ever collaborated. Some songs covered during the episode include “Edge of Seventeen,” “Landslide,” and Lady A’s “Need You Now.”

Although Jewel‘s Greatest Hits CD doesn’t hit stores until next week, the Internet is already all a-flutter with anticipation. While the album features many of her biggest known tracks, including “Hands,” “Who Will Save Your Soul,” and “Standing Still,” it’s the special duets that have people salivating. Jewel enlists the Pistol Annies on her classic “You Were Meant For Me,” and Kelly Clarkson on “Foolish Games.” The results? Purely eargasmic.
Take a listen to Jewel & KC, and let us know what you think!
As we found out years ago, Tim McGraw, along with country music pals, Kenny Chesney and Tracy Lawrence, found out who his friends are. Well, Tim has teamed up with those friends to create a compilation disc, entitled “Tim McGraw & Friends,” scheduled for release by Curb Records on January 22, 2013. Colt Ford helped Tim out on the track, “Twisted,” which will be the first single off the special compilation disc. The album will be exclusively available at Walmart and will include 11 individual tracks:
Genre-crossing artist Jewel, who dabbled in country for a brief stint, will be releasing her greatest hits album on February 5th. On her album, Jewel will explore her pop folk, adult contemporary, and country sounds by inviting several guest vocalists to join her on some of her biggest hits from the past.
Pistol Annies are teaming up with Jewel for a newly-recorded version of her 1995 hit, “You Were Meant for Me.” Kelly Clarkson will also join Jewel for a new version of “Foolish Games.” The set is rounded out by the original version of Jewel’s hits like “Who Will Save Your Soul” and “Intuition.” It also traces her foray into country music a few years back with the songs “Stronger Woman” and “Satisfied.”
Make sure to check out this album when it’s released in February!
Country Crooner Tim McGraw can soon be heard on an R&B artist’s album! Grammy Award Winning/Motown artist Ne-Yo and Tim McGraw teamed up to record a song called “She Is” for Ne-Yo’s upcoming record R.E.D. (“Realizing Every Dream”), which is due out November 6th. Ne-Yo has a huge love for country music and wanted to share that with this duet on his upcoming album. This isn’t the first time Ne-Yo and Tim have teamed up though! If you remember, Ne-Yo and Tim sang together on “Only Human” on Tim’s “Emotional Traffic” album, which came out in January.
In addition to recording together, Tim invited Ne-Yo to join him at a private event in Nashville this past week, on Wednesday to be exact, the night before the annual CMA Awards. They sang a couple of duets including “She Is” from Ne-Yo’s album.
You might also remember that back in 2004, Tim sang on “Over and Over” with rapper Nelly, from Nelly’s fourth album “Suit.” He’s just dabbling into all kinds of genres these days, isn’t he?
You can listen to a snippet of “She Is” below before the album comes out tomorrow. What do you think of the song? Let us know below!
