Lady Antebellum Lands Eighth #1 with “Compass”

compass

While most compasses point north, Lady Antebellum’s has pointed them straight to #1! The trio’s current single “Compass” has taken over the top spot on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase charts, making it their eighth #1 single.

“When we got the news that ‘Compass’ was number one, we were ironically enough, on a 500 mile detour on the bus in Canada trying to avoid an avalanche,” explains vocalist Hillary Scott. “The timing was actually really funny and fortunately we’re going to make it in plenty of time to see all our fans in Vancouver tonight.”

Scott continued by recognizing the work that others put into making the single such a success. “We’re so thankful for all our friends in radio, our record label but especially to all the fans that are on their feet each night when we start the show with this song. The energy is infectious, and it sets the night off on an unbelievable course!”

In addition to celebrating their latest #1 hit, Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood will be honored at the GRAMMYs on the Hill Awards on April 2 in Washington DC. The trio will receive the Recording Artists Coalition Award in recognition of their achievements in country music and their philanthropic efforts.

Congratulations to Randy Houser! He’s broken a single record with his two-week number one single “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” from his new album “How Country Feels.” It’s his second consecutive number one single on both the Billboard and Mediabase charts this week. “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” was so popular that it spent two weeks at the top of the Billboard Country Singles Chart amassing a record audience of over 47 million (highest impressions of any song in one week since 2005). The single is his second release from the album and is the follow up to first No. 1 with album title track “How Country Feels.” Both tracks are RIAA Gold-certified, signifying more than 500,000 sold units of each hit song.

About the new record, Randy said:

“I’m so humbled by this support, and I want to thank everyone that helped us get here. I feel blessed.”

“Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” was penned by Dallas Davidson, Ashley Gorley, and Kelly Lovelace and was one of the last songs Houser recorded for How Country Feels.

Houser is touring throughout the summer and fall, including a stop in Austin, Texas alongside Lee Brice, Bob DiPiero and Jerrod Niemann for the CMA Songwriters Series. Houser then hits the road with Justin Moore in November for the Off The Beaten Path Tour.

Houser’s record label, Stoney Creek Records, will release the his next single later this summer, but in the meantime, his vocals are featured on the new Kristy Lee Cook single, “Wherever Love Goes.”

Tyler Farr goes gold and top ten!

Tyler Farr.

Congratulations to Tyler Farr and the team at Sony Music Nashville! Not only has he gotten his first-ever gold certified RIAA single with “Redneck Crazy,” but it also went top ten on Mediabase this week. That’s a lot of firsts in one week. His debut album “Redneck Crazy,” will hit stores and iTunes on September 30th.

It’s a big deal for Tyler, who said:

“This ride just keeps getting wilder. The reaction from fans on the road has been amazing. It’s crazy to add a top 10 song and my first GOLD single on top of that. There was talk of moving the album street date up so fans could access the new music earlier with the Florida Georgia Line tour starting in the fall, but now that it is official, I can’t wait to have the release of my first album get here even sooner.”

Other recent milestones include selling out two back-to-back shows in West Virginia. The fan support from country fans has blown him away. Tyler explains:

“You know, I’ve been out on the road touring, and even with the great response from fans during the shows, it’s hard to wrap your head around it all. You sort of put your head down and just continue putting on the best shows you can and making the best music you can. And then to hear something crazy like, ‘Your single just went Top 10’, ‘Redneck Crazy was just certified GOLD,’ is surreal.”

Will you be picking up a copy of “Redneck Crazy” when it hits stores this September?

What do you think about Randy Houser’s latest music? Do you like “How Country Feels” or “Anything Goes” better?
