Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry, and Canadian crooner Dean Brody have all been announced as additions to the second ever Boots & Hearts Music Festival in Ontario, Canada. Canada’s biggest country music festival will take place August 2nd to the 4th, 2013 at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario. Tickets are already on-sale for the festival, with three-day passes currently going for $199 at bootsandhearts.com. Early bird tickets had already sold-out after the announcement of Jason Aldean as a headlining act at next year’s festival.

The choices of Miranda, The Band Perry and Rascal Flatts were among the top ten most requested acts by fans of the festival. Festival organizers listened to the fans and added the superstars to an already huge line-up. It’s currently the only announced date so far for Miranda Lambert, who will be hitting the road in January with Dierks Bentley on their co-headlining Locked & Reloaded tour across the United States.

Boots & Hearts will be making an announcement of more than 25 acts as we get closer to the event. Who else do you want to see added to the line-up?

Big news for country music fans in Ontario today! Boots & Hearts Music Festival will return for the second year and with a big fan-voted name – Jason Aldean! After fans had been asking for him through the festival’s Facebook fan page, they announced this morning that he’ll headline the 2013 edition of the music festival. Early bird tickets will already go on-sale on November 9th, and since his “My Kinda Party Tour” sold out every date this year, it’s probably a good idea to get some tickets while they last. This is his only Ontario tour date next year, and to get tickets log-on at 9 am EST on November 9th at bootsandhearts.com with a special rate of $169.99 until November 26th for a three day general admission ticket.

“It’s hard to articulate how ecstatic we are to know that Jason Aldean will be headlining Boots & Hearts this year,” said Shannon McNevan, Managing Director, Partner, Republic Live 2013 Inc. “The exit surveys we conducted last year had him as the fan’s top choice by a landslide for this year’s headliner. We went after him hard, and thankfully his team loved the site, and believed that we would be a good fit. After seeing that he sold out Fenway Park a couple weeks ago in seven minutes, and breaking the records with his first single off Night Train we feel honored that he chose us as his only Ontario date for 2013. Looks like our fans were clearly right…Aldean’s the new king of the road.”

“NIGHT TRAIN” (Broken Bow), was the third-highest debut in all genres of music this year and the second highest in country since 2010. The total more than doubles the first week of sales of Jason’s previous album, the Triple Platinum “My Kinda Party”. The next stops for Night Train include a live performance later tonight at the Country Music Association Awards where he is nominated “Entertainer of the Year”, “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Single of the Year.”

Who else do you want to see added to Boots & Hearts next year? Are you going to get your tickets already?

5 Reasons You Need To See JT Hodges At Boots & Hearts

JT Hodges.

We named Show Dog Universal’s J.T. Hodges our “one to watch for 2012″ earlier this  year… and for good reason. His debut country album hits physical and digital stores on August 21st, and he’ll be playing the Sirius/XM Front Porch Stage on Saturday night from 6:30 to 7:30. He’ll be on-stage during Sheryl Crow and right when Alabama starts, but we believe fans need to check out J.T.

Here’s our five reasons why you can’t miss J.T.’s set in Bowmanville, Ontario tomorrow night:

Mike Fisher To Be Guest Speaker at Boots & Hearts

Canadian NHL player Mike Fisher will be making his first festival on-stage appearance at Boots & Hearts Music Festival this weekend. He’s part of the free gospel breakfast on Sunday, August 11th at the main stage which will features performances by High Valley and Michelle Wright. Mike, along with TSN’s Gino Reda, will speak to fans during the continental breakfast. Mike’s wife, Carrie Underwood, will be headlining during the Festival.

Mike won the NHL Foundation Award for the 2011-2012 season for his charitable work in the community. The Nashville Predator was recognized with the award for applying the core values of hockey – commitment, perseverance, and teamwork – to enrich the lives of people in need. He will be doing a question and answer segment with TSN’s Gino Reda during the breakfast on his faith.

“Having grown up right down the road, it’s exciting to see a world-class music festival like this being brought to our region.  When I heard the concept the promoters were working on for Sunday morning, I was happy to help any way that I could,” said Fisher.  “Faith is obviously something that’s played a vital role in my life, and I think the idea of providing a free breakfast to festival goers while great artists perform their favourite gospel songs is really cool. It’s something that I’ve never seen or even heard of at another festival before.”

Mike is a World Vision Ambassador and recently visited El Salvador to see first-hand the impact the charity makes on the lives of those in need.

Boots & Hearts runs August 9th through to the 12th in Bowmanville, Ontario. It’s the inaugural year for the festival, which plans on becoming an annual event.

Lionel Richie Has Best Selling Country Album of 2012

Lionel Richie.

It’s official! Lionel Richie‘s “Tuskegee” is the best-selling country album for the first half of 2012. The record has sold an approximate 912, 000 copies, which is more than any other release so far this year, by the year’s mid-point on July 1st. That’s the halfway point for Soundscan’s tracking year. “Tuskegee” claimed the number one spot on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart for two consecutive weeks, and sat atop the Billboard Country Albums Chart for an impressive four weeks in a row. In only five weeks, “Tuskegee” was certified platinum for selling more than 1 million copies.

“What a year!” Richie says. “This album has taken me on an unforgettable journey filled with new friends, new jokes and new musical inspirations.  I am overwhelmed and humbled by the success of Tuskegee and am thrilled by how it has been embraced by music lovers of all ages and backgrounds around the world.”

Lionel’s album was released back on March 26th and debuted at the number two spot on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Country Albums chart. It was his best first-week sales that Soundscan has tracked since 1991. It’s become an immediate worldwide hit, debuting at number one on Canada’s Top Albums Chart, and reaching the top 20 albums charts in 10 different countries. It went top 10 in the United Kingdom, Denmark, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Sweden. It was his first number one debut in Canada since Soundscan started tracking, and his first number one record in Canada since his 1983 release “Can’t Slow Down.”

The album features 13 duets of Lionel’s biggest hits with some of the brightest stars in country music. Artists featured on the record include Shania Twain, Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Buffett, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Rogers, Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean and Billy Currington.

Boots & Hearts To Honor Capital Hoedown Tickets

In an unprecedented, fan-centric gesture, Boots and Hearts Music Festival has announced that they will be honoring all general admission tickets that had been purchased for rival festival Capital Hoedown, which was to take place in Ottawa on the same weekend this year. Starting today, country music fans wanting to exchange their Capital Hoedown tickets for Boots & Hearts tickets can visit http://www.bootsandhearts.com/ticket-exchange to complete the process. A one-day pass from Capital Hoedown will be valid for a one-day pass at Boots and Hearts, and a three-day pass at Capital Hoedown will be valid for a three-day wristband at Boots and Hearts.

“It’s disappointing to invest time and money in anticipation of an exciting weekend of country music and not have a festival to attend,” said Shannon McNevan, partner and executive director at Republic Live, the producers behind Boots and Hearts.  “A cancellation of this nature negatively affects the entire Ontario country music market, from the fans confidence to buy tickets in advance to the agents of global superstars being afraid to book their artists at our festivals in the future.  We believe it’s in the best interest of everyone involved, and for the future of country music festivals in this market, to ensure that if you’ve already invested your money, you have a chance to enjoy what you paid for.  For this reason, we’re happy to give all Hoedown ticket holders that have not received refunds the opportunity to come and experience Boots and Hearts with us this year.”

Fans will need to provide four items for the exchange to work: ticket order number, first and last name of original ticket purchaser, e-mail address, and a phone number. Fans have until August 3rd at 5 pm EST to apply for the ticket exchange so that organizers can help prepare the festival for the new influx of crowds. A small service fee will apply to ticket exchanges. VIP tickets purchased for the Capital Hoedown can be upgraded to VIP tickets for Boots & Hearts at a nominal fee.

Boots and Hearts Music Festival will be taking place in Bowmanville, Ontario on August 10th to the 12th and will feature performances by some of the biggest names in country music, including: Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, Tim McGraw, Lauren Alaina, Terri Clark, Kevin Costner, Big & Rich and many more.
