Jennifer Nettles introduces her son
Congratulations to Sugarland‘s lead singer Jennifer Nettles! She announced the arrival of her son Magnus Hamilton on her official website this morning. She made the announcement on her personal blog for her fans, and even sharing the first picture of her first baby for everyone to see (which you can check out below!).
She celebrated her first Mother’s Day yesterday with her 5-month old son and her husband, Justin Miller. Magnus Hamilton Miller was born back on December 6th, 2012, and the couple did not release the news or a picture until today.
In her blog, she wrote:
“On December 6, 2012 my life was forever changed. I had a baby! Magnus Hamilton Miller was born healthy, hungry and with way more hair than I was expecting after seeing baby pictures of both me and my husband. Needless to say, especially to those of you who have children, the rhythm of my life is way different than the movement and pace before baby. In short, this baby is the boss of me.”

Danny Gokey welcomes baby boy
Congratulations to Danny Gokey and his wife Layicet! The pair welcomed their first baby, son Daniel Emanuel Gokey, on Sunday, January 20th. Daniel weighed in at 8 lbs 11 oz. and arrived at 9:52 pm, Danny confirms to PEOPLE magazine.
In the interview with People magazine, Danny said:
“Leyicet and I are overjoyed to welcome the new member of our family. I’m ecstatic to be a first time dad and to have a new little buddy to hang out with.
“Thankfully, because of what I do, it will also allow me the flexibility to spend a lot of quality time with him. I have so many exciting projects ahead this year but a brand new baby is an amazing way to get the new year started. We feel really blessed!”
The couple wed a year ago in Florida. It’s the second marriage for Danny, who lost his first wife to heart disease in 2008.
Jake Owen Baby News
Congratulations to Jake Owen and his lovely wife, Lacey! The couple are celebrating the birth of their daughter today in Nashville, Tennessee. Olive Pearl Owen is named after Jake’s godmother who passed away in July of this year, one month before the pair announced that they were expecting. Olive weighed in at 6 pounds and 3 ounces and she is 19 1/2 inches long.
Jake shares:
“Lacey and I are so excited to start our own family. We are looking forward to teaching Pearl everything we learned from our parents and also learning from her.”
It’s the first child for the four-time American Country Awards nominee, who will also be performing on the December 10th award show on FOX.
Dixie Chicks Welcome Baby
Congratulations to Dixie Chicks‘ member Emily Robison! Emily and her husband Martin Strayer welcomed their new daughter into the world on Tuesday, September 4th at 3:01 am. Violet Isabel Strayer weighed in at 8.6 lbs and baby and mother are doing well.
Emily shared the good news on Twitter:
“9/4/12@ 3:01 a.m. we welcomed Violet Isabel Strayer to the world! (8.6lbs) Thank you all for your kind tweets:) Mom and baby are doing great!!”
Emily’s husband is a band member for her duo Courtyard Hounds. It’s the fourth child for Emily, who has three with her ex-husband Charlie Robison. It’s the ninth baby for the country music trio, who have not released a new album since 2006′s “Taking The Long Way.” While the Dixie Chicks are in hiatus, members Emily and Martie formed their own group and have been touring as the Courtyard Hounds.
Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus Welcomes Baby
Rascal Flatts‘ Friday night Detroit show was a little bit of a whirlwind, reports radio station 99.5 WYCD. Jay DeMarcus made the show with minutes to spare, in scrubs and a hospital bracelet, after wife Alison had their second child. Jay and Alison welcomed their second baby, their first son, at around 4 pm. The band hit the stage at 9:30 pm. Band members Joe Don Rooney and Gary leVox joked around with the station in their interview, saying:
”Jay got pregnant. He got up this morning, jumped on our airplane, flew home, and had the baby. Now he is flying back for the show. he woke up in a panic, you know, when his water broke.”
Jay arrived by helicopter to the concert at DTE Energy Center. Congratulations to the DeMarcus family on their second baby!
Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles Is Pregnant!
A Sugarland baby is on the way! According to People Magazine, Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles is pregnant! Gail Gellman, Sugarland’s Manager, told People Magazine that Jennifer and her husband, Justin Miller, “are thrilled beyond belief.” The Grammy award winning songstress is due in November. Congrats to Jennifer and Justin!
Brantley Gilbert Inspires Baby Names
Looks like the United States really are turning into the BG Nation. In a recent study done by the Social Security Administration, as reported on ABC and the Today Show this morning, the name “Brantley” made the biggest jump on the list of 2011 Top Baby Boy Names. It made the leap from number 736 to 320, which is a crazy 416 spots! One of the contributing factors in the big leap is believed to be the rising success of Brantley Gilbert, whose hit single “Country Must Be Country Wide” shot to the top of the charts late last year.
We might see the name jump more this year with the release of his new single “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do.” That little tune is currently top 10 at country radio and still rising. What country artist would you name your kids after?
Josh Kelley Adopts New Daughter
Congratulations to Josh Kelley and his wife, Katherine Heigl! The pair confirmed to PEOPLE magazine that they’ve adopted a second daughter. Although no details are available at this time, we here at Keepin’ it Country sincerly wish them and their now-bigger family the best.
The pair previously adopted their first daughter, Naleigh Moon, from North Korea.
Bo Bice Welcomes Baby Daughter!
Congratulations to Bo Bice and his wife, Caroline, who welcomed their baby daughter, Merrin Elizabeth Joy Bice, to the world on Monday. Merrin was born at a healthy 8 lbs 11 oz and both her and Caroline are doing great, according to Bo’s post on his official webpage. This is the first daughter for the family, who have three boys – Adain, Caleb, and Ean.

Eli Young Band Baby News!
Congratulations to Eli Young Band lead singer Mike Eli! According to People magazine, he’s expecting a baby with wife Kacey, who are celebrating their second anniversary next week. The pair found out the good news on New Years Day, and they’re expecting their baby daughter on August 2nd. Mike is taking his new role very seriously, already hitting the baby books hard to find out everything he needs to know:
“She and her mom got me a couple books that I am reading, and it can be a little overwhelming,” he admits. “I recommend reading them for the basics and what to expect during pregnancy, but they can’t teach you to be a good dad and a good partner. That’s up to me to figure out.”
Mike and his band will be heading to Las Vegas this weekend for the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The group is up for three ACM awards including Vocal Group of the Year. See if they take any of the three home when it airs live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas at 8 pm EST on CBS.
