blake shelton

With the days getting warmer and the date getting closer, us here at Keepin’ it Country got together to put together a list of our favorite beach-flavored tunes for the Blake Shelton Cruise. We’ll be aboard the biggest live country music event ever to set sail, and we want to help our fellow country music fans get ready for the party of the year!

The 7-night cruise leaves Miami on October 14th, then returns on October 21st after 7-nights at sea. You’ll visit San Juan, Tortola, Nassau, and St. Thomas over those fantastic seven nights. Not only will we be on-board, but so will some of the biggest stars in country music… Blake Shelton will perform twice during the cruise, and he’s bringing along some friends to perform and party with too. There’s so many great performers announced so far that it would take all day to list them here, so visit blakesheltoncruise.com to book your cabin or for more information on the country music party of the year. If you mention Keepin’ it Country when you book your cabin you’ll receive a free gift from us on-board!

Take a look at our ultimate Blake Shelton Cruise playlist below, which we’ll be playing on our iPods as we board the beautiful Norwegian Pearl in October.  Leave us your suggestions and maybe your favorites might make our Cruise playlist part 2 at a later date.

Watershed Festival Features Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton & Dierks Bentley

The Watershed Festival made their big line-up announcement this morning – and it’s a huge one! Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Dierks Bentley will headline the inaugural Watershed Music Festival. The festival runs August 3rd to the 5th in George, WA. See the full line-up below and let us know if you’ll be heading to the new festival. Tickets go on sale May 5th through Ticketmaster.com and three-day passes are only $90!

The festival is being run by Live Nation and ACM Promoter of the Year, Brian O’Connell. Brian believes that the unique setting picked for the festival will make it a stand-out event for fans and artists alike.

“The Gorge provides a feeling that is impossible to recreate anywhere else,” said O’Connell. “It is truly a magical place and provides the perfect setting for a cool, eclectic country event. We wanted to create something that didn’t exist, from the caliber of artists to the camping and the atmosphere. I’m excited to be a part of it and see it all come together.”

This isn’t the first time that The Gorge has held events for country music; but it’s the first time for more than one concert at a time, explains Live Nation’s Jeff Trisler:

“In the storied 25 year history of The Gorge, we’ve been fortunate to host many of the nation’s top country artists, but all have been single day concerts,” said Jeff Trisler, President of Live Nation Seattle. “For years, we’ve wanted to host a multiple day country festival that builds on the tremendous success for our annual Sasquatch Music Festival and Dave Matthews Band residency. We believe this event will bring that same sort of excitement and energy to The Gorge for an entirely new group of music fans.”

Artists confirmed for the multi-day country fest include Dierks Bentley, Kix Brooks, Sara Evans, Brantley Gilbert, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Thompson Square, Uncle Kracker, Dwight Yoakam, Tracy Lawrence, Reckless Kelly, The Lost Trailers, Steve Holy, Johnny Reid, Jon Pardi, Thomas Rhett, Morgan Frazier, DeeJay Silver and a local stage will feature regional acts each night. More artists are set to be announced in the coming weeks, so stay tuned to Keepin’ it Country to see who else will be added.

Who do you want to see added to the lineup? Are you thinking of going?

EXCLUSIVE: Interview With Ty Stone

tystone

I had the chance to sit down with the very talented, and down-to-earth, Ty Stone in February. The “American Style” powerhouse singer has one of the strongest male vocals in the business as I witnessed at the Warner Music 80′s party where he performed. In our exclusive interview we discuss how he met Kid Rock, going out on tour with his friend Uncle Kracker, why he wants to work with Miranda Lambert, and who the Detroit native would love to record with if given the chance.

Concert Review: Kenny Chesney’s Goin Coastal Tour in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

kennychesney

On Wednesday, May 25, stars fell on Alabama as Kenny Chesney and Uncle  Kracker put on a show for a sold-out crowd at the new Tuscaloosa Amphitheater in the hometown of the University of Alabama. A routine stop on his Goin Coastal tour turned into a benefit show when Chesney donated his fees toward rebuilding the city after the April 27th tornados that ripped through the south.

His set list included new hits such as “Live a Little”, “Somewhere With You”, and “The Boys of Fall”, along with crowd favorites like “Summertime”, “I Go Back”, “Big Star”, and “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy”. Chesney was joined on stage with songwriter Mac McAnally on “Back Where I Come From” and “Down the Road”, which were both composed by McAnally. Chesney also performed “My Home’s in Alabama” by country supergroup Alabama. “I’m so honored to have played Tuscaloosa tonight,” Chesney said. “This town has always been incredible to me, and they are really hurting now. I didn’t know if we were doing the right thing by doing the show, but after tonight, I am convinced that this town needed something to look forward to, and I am so glad we played tonight.”
