Jason Aldean plays to over 60k fans!

ACM Male Vocalist of the Year Jason Aldean headlined the first ever concert at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium for over 60K fans last night.  The monumental country music event started early with Aldean’s fans taking tailgating to a new level, and when the Georgia native himself made a surprise appearance in the parking lot, hysteria ensued.

Aldean’s 90 minute set showcased hit after hit including “Hicktown,” “Big Green Tractor” and “My Kinda Party,” as well as his current single “1994,” on one of the biggest outdoor stages in the nation with high resolution video panels, pyrotechnics and a helicopter flyover.  Luke Bryan jumped on stage to perform the reigning ACM Vocal Event of the Year “The Only Way I Know,” then the stadium erupted when GRAMMY award winner and fellow Georgia native Ludacris surprised the crowd by joining Aldean for “Dirt Road Anthem.”  Current tour mates Thomas Rhett and Jake Owen were also on the bill.
The energy of last night’s crowd is something he’ll never forget, explains Aldean:
“Seeing everything come together the way it did tonight and feeling the energy of the crowd is something I will never forget.  When my mom got here last night, we took a walk around the stadium, and it was really emotional for both of us. This place has always meant so much to me, but when I was a kid, we were flat broke and my mom couldn’t afford to buy tickets for us to go to a game.  So I watched on TV and dreamed about one day seeing it in person.  Tonight was beyond my wildest dreams…the whole thing has honestly shaken me a little bit…it’s has been a night I will never ever forget.”
The 2013 NIGHT TRAIN TOUR has sold out every show so far this year, and his next stadium stops include Boston’s Fenway Park (7/12 and 7/13) and Chicago’s Wrigley Field (7/20).

Platinum selling entertainer Jason Aldean will give country radio a dose of nostalgia unlike anything heard before when he releases his next single, “1994,” available on Play MPE today.

“1994” embraces hip-hop elements and takes listeners on a fun journey through the year Aldean was a senior in high school, Justin Bieber was born, OJ Simpson’s white Bronco sped across the nation’s TV screens and a gallon of gas only cost $1.09. When Aldean first heard the demo of the song, written by Barry Dean, Luke Laird and Thomas Rhett, he nearly fell out of his chair laughing and knew it was something totally different that he wanted to take a crack at recording for the record.

About the reactions he’s been getting about the single, he shared:

“I love that this song gets such a reaction from people. Country music in the mid-90′s was a big influence on my career, and I played all the songs that are referenced in ’94 back in my club days. Joe Diffie was rocking a sick mullet, and he was hotter than ever…just putting out monster hit after monster hit. It totally takes me back to those days, and it makes me smile every time I hear it.”

Critics prove that the song’s unique approach is well-received, with the Associated Press praising Aldean’s risk-taking by saying, “As much as Aldean has tested the conventions of country music in recent years, nothing comes close to the nerve it took to cut ‘1994’.” Additionally, Billboard labels it “the most downright fun country song to emerge this year” and claims that it “represents the blending of hip-hop to country like no other song before it.”

Aldean will debut “1994” next Tues. on TODAY (2/26) and on Wed. on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (2/27). While in NYC, he’ll also perform at the All for the Hall New York show at the Best Buy Theatre where he will join Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris and more in raising money for the Country Music Hall of Fame and at his first-ever show at Madison Square Garden, which sold out a few weeks ago in less than 10 minutes.

The 2013 NIGHT TRAIN tour kicks off this Thurs. with a sold out first weekend and continues on to 24 cities through May. Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett will open for Aldean on the tour which also includes sold out stadium shows at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium (4/13), two shows at Boston’s Fenway Park (7/12 and 7/13) and Chicago’s Wrigley Field (7/20).

Jason Aldean sells out Madison Square Garden

Jason Aldean.

Looks like 2013 is about to be just as big a year for Jason Aldean. His first-ever headlining date at Madison Square Garden has sold out in under ten minutes. It’s another accolade that he’s been collecting lately for his 2013 “Night Train Tour” across the United States.  Jason will play New York City on Saturday, March 2nd with Thomas Rhett and Jake Owen.

On selling out such an iconic venue, Jason said:

“I think people underestimate country music’s popularity in New York City.  The Garden is one of those places every artist dreams of playing.  I am blown away that my show sold out that quickly…it makes me even more excited to hit rehearsals this month and get the Night Train tour on the road.  I can’t wait to see you, New York!”

The news comes on the heels of Jason earning platinum certification from the RIAA for selling more than one million copies of his last single “Take A Little Ride.” It’s a pretty big deal, seeing how the single has only been out on the airplay charts for three weeks. “Take A Little Ride” is also Jason’s highest debut for any of his singles, landing in the top 20 on its first week. Jason just released his new single “The Only Way I Know” which features Eric Church and Luke Bryan, and is already finding a home in the top 5 on the airplay charts.

The 2013 “Night Train Tour” kicks off February 21st in Bossier City, LA. Will you be going to see Jason on tour this year?

Jason Aldean Sells Out Fenway in 7 Minutes

Jason Aldean.

CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee Jason Aldean’s recently announced 2013 “NIGHT TRAIN TOUR” stop at Boston’s historic Fenway Park sold out in just seven minutes this morning.  Aldean is the first county artist to headline Fenway, and the July 13, 2013 show will also feature special guests Miranda Lambert, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett.

It’s a pretty big deal to Jason, who is an avid baseball fan. He shares:

“When we started talking about playing stadiums, my only request was to play venues that were special and really meant something to me. “At 100 years old, Fenway Park is one of the most iconic baseball stadium in the country and there is absolutely nothing in the world that could be more special than selling that place out…as an entertainer and as a huge baseball fan.  This has been the most unbelievable week…all I can say is THANK YOU.”

Aldean announced the date last Thursday when he jetted across the country and made surprise appearances at Fenway, Chicago’s Wrigley Field and the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium to announce that his 2013 NIGHT TRAIN TOUR would stop at each of the three stadiums.  Fresh off a record-breaking debut of his new album NIGHT TRAIN which sold 409,303 copies its first week, the next stops on the NIGHT TRAIN include Aldean’s annual “Concert For the Cure” to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure on Oct. 27 and the 2012 Country Music Association Awards on Nov. 1, where he is nominated for “Entertainer of the Year,” “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Single of the Year.”
