The Band Perry rocked the stage last night during the American Idol finale.

The trio was joined by Top 5 finalist and country girl, Janelle Arthur, to sing their current single, “Done.” They lit up the stage with electrifying energy, fun, and even some head banging. The Band Perry sure does know how to do a performance! And Janelle fit right in.

If you missed the performance, check out the video below. It was one of my favorites of the night!

“Done” is TBP’s second single off of their new album, Pioneer! I’ve probably mentioned how much I love the album, but I’ll say it again. A must buy for your country music list!

MAMA’S SONG – CARRIE UNDERWOOD

A personal song written by Carrie herself to her mom is our first pick for our Mother’s Day playlist. The music video features Carrie and her real life mom, as pictured to the side of this post, on her wedding day as she tells her mom that she doesn’t need to worry about her daughter, because she learned from her. “Mama’s Song” was the fourth single from Carrie’s “Play On” album, which was co-written by Carrie with Luke Laird, Kara DioGuardi, and Marti Frederikson. BONUS: The video also features Carrie’s real-life husband, Mike Fisher.

The Band Perry topped the Billboard Country Chart this week with their sophomore album, Pioneer. With 129,000 units sold, the sibling trio also landed in second place on the Billboard 200 chart and were just shy of Justin Timberlake’s sales of The 20/20 Experience by 10,000 copies.

TBP were ecstatic and grateful to hear the big news as they took to Facebook & Twitter:

Wow!!! #Pioneer debuts at #1 Top Country Album AND #2 @Billboard 200!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!

The album’s lead single, “Better Dig Two,” hit number one earlier this year. On track for seemingly similar success is the current single, “Done,” which jumped from 20 to 7 on the Country Digital Sales chart.

If you have not already, make sure you buy your copy of Pioneer! We promise you will not be disappointed.

TBP will also be hitting the road this summer with Rascal Flatts and Cassadee Pope. That is a show you do not want to miss! Visit www.thebandperry.com for more info and tour dates.

Congratulations to The Band Perry! We are huge fans ourselves and are very excited for them.

Woah! Rascal Flatts will co-headline a one-night-only concert with music legend Journey in PA this August! The show, which will be held in Hershey’s Hersheypark Stadium on August 1st, will feature The Voice winner Cassadee Pope and hot country sibling trio The Band Perry as special guests.

Rascal Flatts and Journey first performed together on the 2012 CMT Music Awards when they closed the show with the megahit “Don’t Stop Believin’” and the bands also participated in the critically-acclaimed CMT Crossroads series during Super Bowl XLVII.

Rascal Flatts’ lead singer Gary LeVox shares his excitement for this special concert:

“We had a blast performing with Journey! Our respect for them as musicians deepened through the television shows we did together that talk soon lead to wanting to do more. We are very excited about this concert.”
Journey’s Neal Schon is just as excited to be teaming up with one of country’s top bands of all time. He said:
“Our most recent performances with Rascal Flatts were awesome.  They’re great guys and great musicians, and we’re looking forward to this show.”
Rascal Flatts are the best-selling country vocal group of the past decade and with the #1 debut of their latest album, CHANGED, they have the distinction of being one of only four acts to have seven consecutive studio albums debut in the top spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart during the Soundscan era.  Since their musical debut in 2000, the band has sold over 21 million albums, 25 million digital downloads and delivered 14 #1 singles to the top of the charts.  Rascal Flatts is also the most awarded Country group of the past decade, earning over 40 trophies from the ACAs, ACMs, AMAs, CMAs, People’s Choice Awards and more.
Since its formation in 1973 in San Francisco, Journey has earned 19 Top 40 singles and 25 gold and platinum albums. The band’s Greatest Hits album is certified 15 times platinum, bringing Journey into the elite club of Diamond-certified album holders. Journey was awarded the prestigious “Legend of Live Award” at the 2011 Billboard Touring Awards in honors of the band’ssignificant and lasting contributions to live music and the touring business, and in acknowledgement of their commitment to the fans and the art of performing live. 2011 also marked the 30th anniversary of the band’s seminal anthem, Don’t Stop Believin’, which was honored as the top-selling digital classic rock song in history by Nielsen SoundScan. The group received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005.
Livenation will be the promoter for the concert. We can’t wait! Are you excited for this special once-in-a-lifetime concert?

The Band Perry get their own Gigi Cupcakes

The Band Perry.

In true “Pioneer” fashion, The Band Perry pushes the envelope once more and has become the first recording artists to have a Gigi’s cupcake named after them. The new cupcake called, VERY PERRY CHOCOLATE CHERRY, was inspired by The Band Perry’s new music, a song in particular called “I’m A Keeper,” from the band’s iTunes Country chart topping CD, “Pioneer.”

How cool would it be to have a cupcake named after you? Kimberly Perry knew exactly what flavor it would have to be:

“When we heard that we might have a Gigi’s cupcake named after us we knew right away what the flavor would be. There is a song on our new album that has a line in it that says, ‘I’m gonna change my name to Cherry….,’ so we decided that the cupcake had to be some kind of a cherry cupcake.”

Neil added with a big smile:

“When Gigi brought the cupcakes by for uas to taste them, she provided two cherry versions for us to sample and then offer our opinions on. I really couldn’t tell after trying the first one, so I had to eat several just to make sure. You know, quality control and all.”

Reid Perry explains how the final product came to be:

“We decided to take both versions of the cherry cupcakes and combine them. What came out of that is a cherry batter cake, with chunks of cherry topped with chocolate icing, and a cherry on top. They are delicious. So delicious, that I will be running the stairs after all of our shows now!”

Gigi’s will be selling VERY PERRY CHOCOLATE CHERRY two days a week in all of their stores nationwide, but that’s not the only treat for patrons. Cupcake lovers can enjoy some great music by The Band Perry while they are visiting Gigi’s and they can purchase the new CD “Pioneer” right there in the Gigi’s store.

They’re looking headliner ready. In case you missed their performance from last night, check it out below and let us know – do you think the sibling trio is ready to take over country with a tour of their own? What was your favorite moments from the Academy of Country Music Awards?
