Carrie Underwood & Steven Tyler Are Teaming Up

Carrie Underwood & Steven Tyler.

This should be quite a rock show. CMT announced this morning that Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler will be starring in a very special episode of CMT Crossroads next month. The episode will be part of the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam. The show will be filmed at the Pepsi Coliseum in the Indiana State Fair Grounds. It’s a private event that will sure to rock. The show will air on CMT on February 4th, 2012 at 11 pm EST / 10 pm CST.

This isn’t the first time that the pair have performed live together: Steven surprised everyone when he joined Carrie on-stage for a duet of “Undo It” at the 2011 Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. They then switched to the Aerosmith super-hit “Walk This Way.” Watch the video of that performance below and make sure to let us know what songs you want to see the pair sing together on the special:

Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler take to the stage tomorrow night for CMT’s Crossroads.  It would seem the two singers are having a good time as they get ready for their Super Bowl Weekend special from Indianapolis. The show airs live this Satruday night at 11pm Eastern on CMT.  In case you weren’t aware of it, the pair (along with Steven’s imaginary friend) have a little reminder for us all:

In other Carrie news, the superstar announced yesterday that her new album will be released on May 1st.  The first single from the album, “Good Girl,” hits radio on Februrary 23rd.

Couples and Collaborations: A Look at ACM Fashion History

The 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards are taking place this Sunday, April 7th, in Las Vegas. As we all know, the red carpet and stage fashion choices are some of the most talked about items when it comes to award shows. Back, due to popular demand, is our very own pre-award show fashion reminiscent feature! This time, we take a look at the couples and collaborations of ACMs past … and, boy, have there been some questionably horrific and unquestionably sensational choices in ACM history!

Get Blown Away By Carrie’s 2012!

When we caught wind of just how incredible Carrie Underwood‘s 2012 was, we were simply blown away. Not only were we amazed by the laundry list of successful moments Carrie experienced, but we were exhausted just thinking about everything Carrie accomplished in only 366 days (Leap Year, y’all … are we observant, or what?)! The following is what Carrie’s year consisted of:

Just a Dream On

All of you American Idol viewers out there know that, as sure as Randy Jackson is to call a contestant “Dawg,” Steven Tyler is just as likely to tell that contestant that he/she/the performance was “beautiful.” So, it should come as no surprise that Steven is releasing a new song, cleverly titled “Beautiful” (bet you didn’t see that coming!).

However, there is an unexpected addition to that announcement. You might also recall one of American Idol’s most beautiful contestants – both in looks and in vocals – Carrie Underwood. Carrie, one of country music’s biggest superstars, is teaming up with Steven on the new track, “Beautiful,” to create what Steven calls a “country-Western crossover ballad.”

I don’t know about all of you out there, but I feel like a duet like this could truly only be “just a dream” and that the rocker/country girl duo would say “dream on!” to anybody who ever predicted this pairing. However, that dream is becoming a reality when Aerosmith’s new album, “Music From Another Dimension!” is released in November of this year!

Brad Paisley Joining American Idol?

Rumors have been flying for days now on who will be the replacement for Steven Tyler on American Idol next season, and many country stars have found their names in the mix. A report out now from Deadline is saying that Brad Paisley is being strongly considered for the new judge on the hit reality singing competition.

Brad has performed on American Idol in the past, and co-hosts the Country Music Association (CMA) awards with former winner Carrie Underwood. There’s been quite a few successful country acts to come from Idol – Kelly Clarkson, Kellie Pickler, Carrie, Casey James, Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery, all started their careers on the show.

Brad’s former tour mate, Blake Shelton, is currently one of the four coaches on The Voice.

What do you think about Brad being a judge? Do you think it will steal viewers back from The Voice or are you sick of Idol?

Review: Duets – It Takes Two (Again)

Ladies and gentleman, it’s time to du-et again!

Our trusty host Quinoa is back to remind us how this show works. Except no one knows. What we do know is that a quartet of super talented “superstars” (Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles & Robin Thicke) chose a bunch of moderately talented amateurs to sing with. The stars then score the performances on their mysterious judging tablets of doom and their partners’ faces appear on a Family Feud-esque leader board. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s start the show.

First up are Kelly Clarkson & Robin Thicke with a duet of the Michael Jackson/Jackson 5 track, “State of Shock.” Not gonna lie, this performance has me in a state of shock. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that John & Jennifer were left out, or if its Robin’s sleeveless V-neck and surprisingly lovely biceps, or the fact that lyrics to this song include the words “catatonic” and “supersonic”, but Krobin are getting a little too freaky for ABC. Seriously, Reba would not approve of this…and I think I’ve been impregnated through my television.

After a quick recap of last week that left Team Kelly at the bottom of the scoreboard and Team Jennifer’s J. Rome at the top, we’re ready to get to the “classic” duets.
