Sarah Darling Meets Her Musical Hero

Sarah+Darling+promo1

Country music starlet Sarah Darling attended the premiere of “For the Love of Music…The Story of Nashville” during the Nashville Film Festival and just so happened to run in to one of her most-admired musical heroes, Joy Williams of The Civil Wars.

Darling posed for a photo with the GRAMMY Award-winning artist and then she tweeted “I met Joy from @thecivilwars last night! My favorite singer ever!”

The experience was an “honor,” Darling says, and adds that her big-screen debut in the film, which showcased one of her performances at the historic Grand Ole Opry, certainly was too. “To be featured in the film alongside so many talented artists in this town was truly humbling for me. I’m glad I could play a part in showcasing such an amazing city.”

Darling also commented on the film’s anticipated premiere in Tuesday’s issue of The Tennessean. “I couldn’t be more excited, because the doors are wide open for all kinds of musicians [here in Nashville],” she says. “If you have a passion for music, you should be here.”

Celebrating the success of her latest single, “Home To Me,” which has sold over 100,000 downloads and climbing, Darling is currently out with Scotty McCreery on tour as part of his Weekend Roadtrip Tour.

Craig Morgan to headline St Jude Marathon in Nashville

Country Music star Craig Morgan and special guest, Sarah Darling, will lend their talented voices to the 14th annual St. Jude Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon presented by Nissan. Continuing the tradition of combining great country music with Nashville’s premier running event, Morgan and Darling will cap the weekend of festivities with a post-race concert at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. CST on Saturday, April 27.

The musically themed road race attracts more than 30,000 runners, walkers and 6,000 junior racers through ING KiDS ROCK Nashville, who will take on the 26.2 and 13.1-mile courses while passing many of Nashville’s best live bands along the route.

Complimentary concert tickets are provided to all registered runners and volunteers. Runners may purchase additional tickets for $35.

Craig had this to say about his support for the race:

“As a Nashville area native, I’m proud to represent Country Music and St. Jude and give all the runners a chance to let loose after the big race. Save up some energy for the end of the night because we’re gonna make sure you leave Music City with a lot of great memories!”

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of childhood cancer and other deadly diseases, is the official benefiting charity of the St. Jude Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon. Again this year, participants registered for the race are encouraged to also sign up as St. Jude Heroes and Run For a Reason®. St. Jude Heroes, a special group who raise incremental funds for the hospital by securing donations from family, friends and co-workers, are instrumental in supporting the $1.8 million per day it takes to run the hospital. Thanks to the generosity of donors, no family ever pays St. Jude for anything. St. Jude covers the cost of treatment, travel, lodging and food for each patient and a family member.

Scotty McCreery.

American Idol winner Scotty McCreery has finally made plans for his first-ever headlining tour! The Carolina native will hit the road on his “Weekend Roadtrip Tour 2013″ to 25 cities in the United States. The tour kicks off on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, in Bethlehem, PA. Scotty is relying on his experience with Brad Paisley and his friends in country music. He shares:

“I’ve been lucky enough to play a lot of great cities over the last year with Brad Paisley and some other great country artists. This time, I get to play some new places with a show that’s all my own. I can’t wait for my fans to see what we’ve lined up for them on my Weekend Roadtrip tour 2013.”

Scotty will include some brand new material on the tour from his upcoming album due out later this year. He’s currently working on the record, but promises fans will hear it first during his tour.
