Get ready country music fans in Michigan! A brand new festival is about to take off in Brooklyn, MI with some huge country stars. The Faster Horses Festival, which is being organized by Live Nation’s ACM Promoter of the Year Brian O’Connell, will feature headlining performances by Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, and Luke Bryan. The three-day festival will run from July 19th to the 21st and will also feature performances by Jerrod Niemann, Thompson Square, Kix Brooks, Chris Young, Colt Ford, and more to be announced.
Three-day festival passes are $170 and will go on-sale on Monday, February 25th at fasterhorsesfestival.com.
Following the success of the inaugural Watershed Festival at the famed Gorge Amphitheatre last year, O’Connell selected a wide-open field in the secluded Irish Hills in Michigan for his next country camping festival. Surrounded by lakes and rolling hills, this area of Michigan is a summer hot spot, attracting vacationers far and wide. The Faster Horses Festival is set to be a prime summer event featuring 2 stages, 9 campgrounds, late night jam sessions, food trucks, bonfires and more to highlight the unique summer lifestyle experience in the area.

Online concert series presented by Stageit to bring country music to a personal level

January 24, 2013 – Keepin’ it Country is aiming to bring country music back to its roots by holding online, intimate concert sessions with some of today’s brightest up-and-coming acts and hit songwriters. The one-of-a-kind online series, KEEPIN’ IT COUNTRY PRESENTS, will showcase what country music is known for – its stories in its songs – through performances with the artists live from their homes and tour buses. The concerts are presented by STAGEIT.COM. Each concert will be streamed live via webcam and give fans the chance to get to know their favorite new artists through a live chat and private pay-per-view events. Each event will be at a low cost and with limited tickets available.
KEEPIN’ IT COUNTRY has become one of the leading and innovative country music blogs today. Already the most-read in Canada, KEEPIN’ IT COUNTRY has focused on introducing country music fans to new acts they should get to know. KEEPIN’ IT COUNTRY PRESENTS is another avenue the blog has created to bring country music blogging into the social media driven world today.
KEEPIN’ IT COUNTRY PRESENTS will be open worldwide to fans and each concert will only be $5 per ticket. Each event is streamed live on location, and is only available to those with tickets. They will be one-time events and will not be recorded for later, giving fans private concert experiences right from their computers. Fans are able to request songs from the artist and have real time conversations via the chat box during the 30-minute performance.
KEEPIN’ IT COUNTRY is proud to announce the first two artists of its brand new online showcase. KEEPIN’ IT COUNTRY PRESENTS will kick off on January 31st, 2013 at 9 pm EST/ 8 pm CST with independent singer-songwriter CHRIS CAVANAUGH. Chris has opened for artists like Kix Brooks, Jake Owen, Luke Bryan, Chris Young, Lee Brice, Jerrod Niemann, Thompson Square, Justin Moore, Josh Thompson, Joe Nichols, The Randy Rogers Band, and is a co-writer on Steve Holy’s “Like I’m Famous.” He gained attention of country music fans during his performances on the BLAKE SHELTON CRUISE in October 2012. Tickets are on-sale now for Chris Cavanaugh’s performance.
Additionally, KEEPIN’ IT COUNTRY is announcing the addition of THE VOICE’s ADLEY STUMP as its second headliner. Adley rose to fame as a member of TEAM BLAKE SHELTON on the second season of THE VOICE, competing against RAELYNN in the Battle Rounds and earning the praise of Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton. The powerful country vocalist has been busy touring and promoting her debut independent EP “LIKE A LADY,” and as part of her headlining performance with KEEPIN’ IT COUNTRY PRESENTS on Feburary 5th, 2013, she will engage country fans with a live twitter chat with KEEPIN’ IT COUNTRY at @keepinitblog on February 4th, 2013.

Nominees for ACAs Announced
The nominees were just announced earlier this morning for this year’s American Country Awards. The third edition of the fan-voted award show will once again air live on FOX from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. While the co-hosts remain the same with Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth, there is something new about the award show – the addition of the “Song Of The Year” category which will honor country music’s top songwriters of 2012. The nominees for Song of the Year are determined by the National Songwriters Association International (NSAI). The award show will air live on December 10th on FOX at 8 pm EST.
Artists leading all nominees this year are Luke Bryan with seven, and Lady Antebellum tying for second with Zac Brown Band with six nominations each. Eric Church and Taylor Swift both have five nominations each. Check out the full list of nominees below and let us know who you’ll be voting for. Dierks Bentley Adds Kix Brooks to Miles & Music Lineup
Dierks Bentley is bringing in even more firepower for his charity concert. He’s just announced the addition of country icon Kix Brooks to his “Miles & Music For Kids” charity event on October 14th in Nashville, Tennessee. The motorcycle ride and concert will also feature the previously announced Sheryl Crow, Chris Young, Brantley Gilbert, The Cadillac Black, and Craig Campbell.Tickets for the family-friendly event are still on-sale on Ticketmaster.com, so make sure to get your tickets before it sells out!
The ride begins at the Harley-Davidson of Columbia (1616 Harley Davidson Blvd., Columbia, TN) for a scenic hour-long motorcycle ride ending at downtown Nashville’s Riverfront Park where the ACM Lifting Lives Stage will hold the all-star concert.
Fans can purchase tickets for the ride, concert and commemorative T-shirt for $50, or those looking to attend the concert only can purchase tickets for $20. Special VIP packages are also available. Country music legend Kix Brooks will be stopping by Good Morning America tomorrow morning to promote his new solo album “New To This Town.” He’ll be performing his title-track, the lead-off single from the album, along with some of his favorite songs from his solo record.

Colt Ford Releases Declaration of Independence TODAY!
Country music’s resident rapper, Colt Ford, released his brand new album “Declaration of Independence” to stores nationwide TODAY. The brand new studio album features collaborations with Jason Aldean, Wayna Morris of Boys II Men, Kix Brooks, Montgomery Gentry, Jake Owen, Darius Rucker, and many more country stars. The record was produced by Dan Huff (Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban), along with long-time collaborator Shannon “Fat Shan” Houchins.
“This album is very real and honest and by far the best record I’ve ever made,” Colt says with pride. “The last two records—I stand up and cheer for them—but I tried to make a lot of people happy on the last two records and I took the edge off of it. On this record I put the edge back on there.”
“Declaration of Independence” is being released on Colt’s own Average Joe’s Entertainment. Over his career so far, Colt has already sold more than one million albums and over three million downloads of his songs. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see those numbers quickly rise with the guest stars lending their talents to Colt’s album. Kix Brooks Releasing Solo Debut Album
Kix Brooks, one half of the legendary country music duo Brooks & Dunn, will finally be releasing his debut solo album on Arista Nashville. “New To This Town,” which was co-produced by Jay Demarcus of Rascal Flatts and Kix himself, will be available online and in stores on September 11th. “I made an album that really is close to my heart, and it’s a whole lot of fun,” shares Kix. “For the most part, the music’s just…it’s kind of fun and games and hangin’ it out there and thinkin’ about gettin’ back in a lot of those clubs and festivals and gettin’ to play again. It’s like, you know, people come to enjoy themselves, and I think this album in a lot of ways is about that.”
