Joanna Smith Launching 150 Things About Joanna

Joanna Smith.

While RCA Nashville’s Joanna Smith is busy on her nationwide tour promoting her new single “Why Can’t We Be Friends,” she’s launched a brand new “150 Things About Joanna” project. The 150 things will include fun facts including her favorite songs, artists, memories, her biggest pet peeves, and more from the spunky artist.

The 150 things kicked off on August 3rd and will go on until New Years Eve, which will end with her New Years Resolution. Joanna will also share pictures and videos as part of her 150 Things. So far, Joanna has shared her favorite book, how she wants to return to New Orleans, how she was grossed out by a gum wall in Seattle, and how she has the magical talent to always make her checked baggage come in under the 50 pound limit.

Joanna is in her fourth week of her “Joanna Smith For Today’s Country” campaign across the United States. Her radio tour has taken her from coast to coast, and she’s been filming Road-isodes while on her travels.

Joanna Smith To Perform National Anthem at Marathon

Joanna Smith.

Sony Music Nashville artist Joanna Smith will not only be running her first half-marathon tomorrow, but she will also perform the American national anthem at the St. Jude Country Music Marathon Presented By Nissan. The event is expected to bring out more than 30,000 participants, for whom she’ll sing the anthem to before the marathon starts.

Joanna is passionate about St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital since she first visited several years ago. She’s asking fans who aren’t racing to help her raise money for the cause by joining “St Jude Heroes – Run For a Reason” and donating to help Joanna raise money to help fight childhood cancer.

“I’m so excited about being involved in the marathon,” said Joanna. “When I think about the kids at St. Jude fighting for their lives, running 13 miles doesn’t seem like a lot. Singing the national anthem will give me lots of good nervous energy and adrenaline, so I think I’ll be good to go come race time!”

At the time of this posting, Joanna’s page has only raised $150 of her $750 goal – so come on country music fans! Help her reach her goal by tomorrow.

Joanna Smith To Perform Anthem At Red Cross Event

Columbia/BNA Records artist Joanna Smith will be performing the National Anthem at the 10th Annual Lifesaver Breakfast, hosted by the Nashville chapter of the Red Cross. The event takes place Thursday, April 12th at the Lipscomb University Allen Arena. The event will honor military veterans in the Nashville community. The American Red Cross will celebrate 130 years of service to the 101st Airborne Division based in Fort Campbell. Honored guest Major General James McConville, the commanding officer of the 101st Airborne Divison, will accept the “Service to Excellence Award” on behalf of the 101st Airborne and provide remarks. Sherri Brown, American Red Cross’ National Senior Vice-President of Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) will also speak at the breakfast.

“To sing our nation’s anthem at a Red Cross event that is honoring the military is a very special opportunity for me. The Red Cross has been proudly serving our country for over 130 years, and for them to intersect at an event with the Tennessee 101st Airborne provides a unique chance for me give my thanks for all they do for my fellow Americans!”

This year, the American Red Cross is expecting over 600 of Nashville’s most influential business and community leaders at the event, which will ensure the necessary financial funding to provide the core humanitarian services of the organization, including lifesaving services, local disaster response and service to the Armed Forces.

PHOTO: Joanna Smith Gets A Helping Hand From Lauren Alaina

Joanna Smith.

It’s the time of year when traveling quickly becomes a headache, and that was the case for country music singer Joanna Smith last week. After her plane was late in New York, she had to rush to make it to her show at Huntington. She made it – with only moments to spare, but didn’t have time to do her hair and makeup on her own.

That’s when American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina stepped in. Lauren curled Joanna’s hair for her, since they were both performing at the concert, and got her friend all ready to hit the stage – and on-time!

EXCLUSIVE: Interview With Joanna Smith

Joanna Smith.

We had the pleasure of speaking with Joanna Smith Friday afternoon in-between her Nashville studio sessions working on her new album. The “Gettin’ Married” singer is coming back with a new sound that’s true to who she is, without anymore proud-to-be-a-Georgia-peach songs this time around! Find out what Joanna has been up to, what she expects this time around, how she became friends with Luke Bryan, writing “Kissing in Public” about a popular Nashville songwriter friend (who shall remain nameless), and what it was like moving to Nashville all on her own to follow her dream in our exclusive interview with the “Georgia Mud” singer. It was a fun interview with a proud Southern girl who has a very important message for her friend Cody Johnson:

We have the new artist lists by label here for you to help ease that confusion while the official websites get caught up and switch over.
