What is better than our country music community doing good?
Country artists gathered on January 11th for “Concert for the Cause” and raised over $200,00 for Kids Cancer Alliance.
Sponsored by Morgan Stanley, “Concert for the Cause” took place at the Ice House in Louisville and was hosted by “Listening Room” owner, Chris Blair. With an intimate acoustic and in-the-round setting, Jake Owen headlined the event with special guests Frankie Ballard, Jana Kramer, Paul Overstreet, Jason Sturgeon, Ilya Toshinsky, Scotty Emerick, Josh Osborne, Ben Bradford, and Olivia Lane. In addition to the music, there was a live and silent auction with an after party hosted by Dee Jay Silver.
Kids Cancer Alliance was founded in 1981 and sought to provide a normal camping experience for children with cancer. Throughout the years, the organization continued to grow and expand into what it is today. The non-profit now offers free oncology and sibling camps, teen and family retreats, quarterly events and in-hospital programs as well as financial support.

We’ve been impatiently waiting for this announcement…
Jake Owen revealed his Days of Gold 2014 tour dates from the ESPN tailgate party stage at the BCS National Championship today.
The tour will kick off on March 20 in Brookings, SD and continue through October wrapping up in Jake’s hometown of Vero Beach, FL. The 55-city plus tour features openers Eli Young Band (select dates), Parmalee (select dates), Thomas Rhett (select dates) and The Cadillac Three.
The country star shared:
“I love throwing parties! This tour is going to be one big party and everyone is invited. I’ve been lucky enough to be on the road and learn from incredible artists like Chesney, McGraw, and Aldean. I’m really proud of this tour and can’t wait for the fans to see what’s in store. The first night can not get here fast enough!”
We can’t wait either, Jake!
Owen’s Days of Gold album, which was released in late 2013, is available now and features the hit single of the same title. His second single, “Beachin’”, will be released to radio next month.
And now what we have all been waiting for….
One of my favorite artists is back with new music!
That’s right, I’m talking about Jake Owen. The country star has released his highly anticipated 4th album, Days of Gold.
Days of Gold is the follow-up to Owen’s gold-certified Barefoot Blue Jean Night. Barefoot achieved great success scoring four consecutive number one singles with “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” “Alone,” “The One That Got Away,” and “Anywhere With You.”
His current release, “Days of Gold,” is the lead single and title track for the new album. It is #22 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart and climbing! I know I cannot turn on my local country station without hearing it, and I think it’s on the same track for success as its predecessors.
In an interview with Billboard, Owen had this to share about the album:
“I think it’s different. I don’t know if it’s so out there that people would get offended by it. But, we did take a chance. It’s a risk reward thing. I think that as an artist, sometimes for you to grow, you have to take those risks rather than put out the same song each time. You look back on careers of people who had songs that were just a little bit different, and that’s what we did.”
Days of Gold is available everywhere now so grab your copy asap! FYI – there is an exclusive edition of the album, featuring four bonus tracks, that is available only at Target. Makes for a great Christmas gift!
RCA Nashville artist Jake Owen has revealed his official cover art for his brand new album “Days Of Gold.” The title track from the album, which will be released this December, is currently out at country radio and climbing fast. Check out the album artwork here and let us know what you think:
On Monday night, August 20th, Jake Owen was scheduled to perform on Nashville’s Music Row. But, the night before, Jake began experiencing some incidental effects from his go-kart accident, which occurred in July of this year. When Jake noticed his finger, which was shattered in the accident, was bleeding, he decided to visit his doctor to have it checked out. When he was seen by his doctor early in the day on Monday, he was informed that he had to have part of the finger amputated, as he was suffering from an infection.
Despite Jake’s request to wait until the following day so he could perform his Monday night show, the doctor insisted that the amputation needed to be performed immediately. However, Jake did not allow the procedure to interfere with his ability to perform, as the trouper (who has previously hit the stage this summer, only weeks after his accident, to open for Read More >>
