Glen Templeton’s Bus in Accident

Black River Entertainment artist Glen Templeton‘s bus was involved in an accident yesterday. He was on his way to perform at the Iowa State Fair yesterday afternoon when the front tire of his bus exploded. The explosion sent the bus and its passengers almost 250 yards into a ditch. There were no serious injuries in the accident, and Glen was still able to perform as scheduled at 8 pm at the Iowa State Fair.

There’s been quite a few bus incidents this year – ranging from Jerrod Niemann‘s catching on fire during a charity concert, to Justin Moore‘s band’s bus being involved in a fatal collision. We here at Keepin’ it Country want to remind fans to be safe on the road.

Glen Templeton Signs with Black River Entertainment

Black River Entertainment announced the signing today of Glen Templeton. Templeton, a solo male artist from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, released his debut single “I Could Be The One” to country radio back in April. The single has already received significant airplay on Sirius/XM satellite radio.

Black River Entertainment will be taking over all promotional, marketing and sales efforts for Templeton.

“After spending a significant amount of time with GORDON and GREG, I knew BLACK RIVER was the right home for me. I’m so excited to have such a great group of people around me with the shared vision of taking what we’ve started and building a long-term career in Country music. I would also like to mention how much I appreciate everyone at CAPSTONE and country radio who have helped me get to this point.”

Kellie Pickler Signs With Black River Entertainment

Kellie Pickler.

Kellie Pickler has finally found a new home! The country music sweetheart was just announced this morning as the newest addition to the artist roster at Black River Entertainment. The label is already home to Craig Morgan, Due West, Glen Templeton, and Sarah Darling.

Gordon Kerr, CEO of Black River Entertainment, was pretty excited about the announcement. He shares:

“What’s not to love about Kellie? She’s real, she adores her fans, she’s rooted in and committed to country music and she’s genuine.  How can you ask for more than that?”

Kellie added exactly why she chose the label for her new home. She left Sony Music Nashville earlier this year.

“In looking for a label partner, I was really drawn to the Black River family because they hold similar values that I do.  From our initial meeting, it was clear to me how much the entire team respects the artists’ musical vision, and I’m really looking forward to getting back into the studio to record and release new music to country radio.”

Kellie released her latest album “100 Proof” earlier this year. Only two singles were sent to radio from the album – lead off single “Tough” followed by the title track. “100 Proof” was produced by Miranda Lambert producer Frank Liddell and shows off the real country side of the North Carolina native. Please remember that autograph guidelines have changed for this year’s CMA Fest. Here is a highlight of how the new procedure works:

Fans will now enter a random drawing for the opportunity to meet various artists appearing in the Fan Fair Exhibit Hall. You will be able to enter the drawing at between May 14 (starting at 10:00 AM/CT) and May 28 (ending at 5:00 PM/CT). You will enter in your contact information and then select from the list of participating artists singing autographs in the Hall. You may select as many or as few artists as you’d like to meet. Once you submit your entry, you will not be allowed to go back in and change it so choose carefully! Duplicate entries will not be considered and all winners will be notified by Friday, June 1 via email.

CMA will also have a limited number of tickets on-site at the Festival for those who can’t get to a computer to register ahead of time. For more information on this, please see the Fan Fair Hall page at

Not every artist participating in the Fan Fair Hall will be part of the autograph drawing. There will be many opportunities for patrons to obtain multiple autographs from artists by just walking around the Fan Fair Hall. So don’t lose hope if you don’t get picked!
