Ali Dee releases single to country radio

Ali Dee.

Texas singer/songwriter, Ali Dee, releases her brand new single “It Ain’t” from a forthcoming soon-to-be titled album. “It Ain’t,” written by hit songwriters Ryan Tyndell (Eric Church’s “Springsteen”) and Pat McLaughlin (Gary Allan’s “Songs About Rain”), comes on the heels of her popular singles “Just A Diamond” and “Sweet Southern Song” from her debut EP Sweet Southern EP which cracked the Top 15 on the iTunes Country Chart.

It’s pretty exciting for Ali, who said:

“I can’t wait for my fans to hear the new tune, I think it sums me up quite well, a whole lotta country, a little bit rock and roll, and a lot of sass! It’s also pretty great company to be in as far as artists that Ryan [Tyndell] and Pat [McLaughlin] have written for – Eric Church and Gary Allan – two of the hottest artists out there right now!”

The proud and strong Texas artist just recently took her high energy, sassy rockin country live show overseas where she and her band entertained for the U.S. soldiers in Germany, United Kingdom and Kosovo. The rising “Red Dirt” circuit artist is continuing to tour and record for her upcoming album.

Ali Dee’s upcoming tour dates include Toby Keith’s Bar/Dallas, TX (May 10); Grapevine Main Street Days/Grapevine, TX (May 18); KNUE 101.5 Coaches & Cowboys/Tyler, TX (May 22); 11st Cowboy Bar w/ Jake Hooker (Bandera, TX); Whiskey and Rye/Fort Worth, TX (May 28) and Mt. Pleasant Rodeo/Mt. Pleasant, TX (May 31).

2013 One to Watch: Rose Falcon

Rose Falcon.

Last year, we introduced a new annual feature on Keepin’ it Country – Ones to Watch. Our predictions were pretty spot on last year, with Dustin Lynch and JT Hodges quickly becoming popular with country music fans. This year it’s time for a little love for the ladies – and our first 2013 One to Watch: Rose Falcon.

Rose, a singer-songwriter signed to Show Dog Universal, is the writer behind Country Strong’s hauntingly beautiful “Give Into Me,” and has been named one of CMT’s Next Women of Country.  Rose, a songwriter just like her father, has been praised by the legendary Bon Jovi as a “true artist” and “an old soul in the voice of a beautiful young lady.” She recently released her single “If Love Had A Heart” to country radio, and she’s definitely one to watch out for in 2013.

In a country music world where males dominate airplay and it’s hard for a new female to break out, Rose is one you will be cheering for. With her talented writing and pretty vocals, she has what it takes to hold her own at country radio.

Check out her EPK below then read our exclusive interview with Rose. Get to know her before she takes over country – which she will:

Gary Allan Launches Red Cross Campaign

Gary Allan.

Country music icon Gary Allan has launched a very special campaign in support of the American Red Cross. He’s asking fans to donate to the organization to be able to download his an acoustic version new single “Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain).” Each donation will benefit the disaster relief efforts made by the Red Cross.

Gary, who just filmed the video for the single in Nashville, quickly realized how appropriate the message of the song was for the Red Cross’ efforts for Sandy relief. Gary shared:

“My song ‘Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain)’ is about hope and light at the end of the tunnel. With the devastation in the northeast region by Sandy, I thought this song was extremely timely. I wanted to partner with the Red Cross on this because they have always offered hope for those in need.”

Gary is currently out on a small tour across the United States, with his next date December 14th at Joe’s Bar in Chicago. For a full list of tour dates, or to help Gary support the Red Cross, visit his official website.

New Artist Spotlight: JJ Lawhorn

JJ Lawhorn.

What would you have done to see the early days of Eric Church, Justin Moore, or even Gary Allan‘s careers? Country music fans who played their cards right were able to see one of the new underrated talents on the Blake Shelton Cruise last week with JJ Lawhorn. The 19-year old signed to Average Joe’s Entertainment in 2011 and he’s your good ol’ Southern boy – who isn’t afraid to make sure everyone knows it, too. The singer, who was raised on a family farm, stole the spotlight in one of the many atrium shows on the NCL Pearl last week.

JJ might not be a name that country fans are familiar with yet, but they soon will be. He’s hitting the road with Colt Ford on the “Answer To No One Tour,” and with his gritty songwriting style and rocking vocals he’ll soon be taking over radio. Fans who are looking for someone along the lines of Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore, or even Eric Church should keep their eyes peeled to this newcomer.

We had the chance to get to know JJ during the Blake Shelton Cruise, and as the week went on, word about his performance had spread to the passengers. His final show was a packed one- with two levels of the atrium watching the young singer with the rock-styled vocals. His influences on his writing are obvious: he calls Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and Waylon Jennings his influences in his official bio. JJ is a rebel, one of the new branches of Nashville that’s finally getting the spotlight thanks to the success of Brantley, Eric, and Gary.
