You remember Cherie Oakley. Superstar songwriter, The Voice contestant, background vocalist for several hit artists, and recent interviewee on Keepin’ It Country. Well, since Cherie’s run on NBC’s The Voice, she has barely had a moment to sit still while her career has been off and running. And now, her new single, appropriately titled “Off I Go”, is getting ready to hit iTunes any minute! We hear this single is upbeat and exudes attitude, and if this sneak peek of the cover is any indication, Cherie’s single will be incredibly sassy and sophisticated!
Keep your eyes on iTunes over the next few days for the official release of “Off I Go” and make sure to download this surefire spectacular single. You may want to learn the words so you can sing along … you know, in case Cherie happens to be one of our upcoming performers on “Keepin’ It Country Presents” or something!
Did you watch the first season of “The Voice”? Have you ever heard the Reba McEntire #1 hit song “Turn On the Radio”? Were you tuned in when Kelly Clarkson and Vince Gill debuted their new song, “Don’t Rush,” on the 46th Annual CMA Awards? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, our latest interviewee should be no stranger to you!
She’s a little bit of Pop, a little bit of Country, and a whole lot of talent…Her name is Cherie Oakley and we were lucky enough to sit down with her and talk about songwriting, song recording, song performing, and some of the incredible artist encounters she has experienced in her musical career so far!
You know when you hear a song and you just know it has “it”? That song that you can’t wait to hear on the radio while you are driving with the windows down so other cars can hear it? The song you sing at the top of your lungs? Well, remember that Cherie Oakley single, “Off I Go,” we teased last week? Well, it is now available on iTunes, and it is just that kind of song!
“Off I Go” has a Laura Bell Bundy “Shakin’” fun beat with some serious Miranda Lambert attitude. Add these things together with Cherie’s unparalleled vocals, and it certainly has all the components to be a huge hit!
While I would love to stay here and go on and on about how fantastic this new single is, I have one thing to say — “hell no, off I go!” I have a song to listen to on repeat!
What are you waiting for? Head over to iTunes and download “Off I Go”! Let us know what you think of Cherie’s song by leaving us a comment here or contacting us on Twitter @keepinitblog.
