Phil Vassar signs with APA Nashville

APA Nashville has signed chart-topping, multi award-winning singer/songwriter and “Piano Man” Phil Vassar to its talent roster, it was announced today by APA’s Jeff Howard. Vassar’s current single “Love Is Alive” earned BILLBOARD’s coveted “Hot Shot Debut” designation, launching with nearly 900,000 audience impressions at the 30-plus stations monitored by Nielsen BDS. The tune is impacting BILLBOARD’S Country Airplay chart, holding the #48 spot this week. The Lyric Video for “Love is Alive” has just been released and can be seen HERE.

Brad Paisley Prepares for Album Release

This Monday (04/01), Brad Paisley will be testing out his anchor skills as he joins the anchors of Good Morning America as a special guest. This appearance is undoubtedly going to get fans even more excited for the April 9th release of his new album, Wheelhouse, as well as his Building A Wheelhouse Interactive Book.

To get fans revved up, Brad is holding a Wheelhouse Scavenger Hunt for his fans. This interactive contest aims to provide fans with a look into the making of Wheelhouse. Each day during the contest, the artist will post clues to the location of a hidden icon, photo or video via Twitter or Facebook. The first person to locate the hidden item will then win a prize after returning to the promotion site. All participants are eligible to win the grand prize – a flyaway for the winner and a guest to a Brad Paisley contest, as well as a meet and greet and accommodations.

Paisley’s second single off the upcoming album, “Beat This Summer,” is already #17 on the Billboard national airplay charts. Charlie Daniels Releases New Single, “Take Back The USA”

The Legendary “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” Singer Mr. Charlie Daniels has released his latest single on Blue Hat Records, titled “Take Back The USA.”

Two versions of the single have been released, with one including a narrative of a bible verse from Chronicles 7-14. Listen to “Take Back the USA” on iTunes here.

“Take Back The USA” was produced by Alabama’s Teddy Gentry and Charles English of Music Brothers Productions. Songwriter and multi instrumentalist Bobby Terry contributed lyrics, along with Gentry and English. Distributed through Megaforce Records/MRI and Sony/Red Distribution, the song is a plea to the people of the United States to “Take Back The USA.”

“I think it speaks volumes about how a lot of people in this country feel right now,” says WQNU Program Director Shane Collins. “It’s easy to hear how Charlie paved the way for the Jason Aldeans and Eric Churchs of today.”

Charlie Daniels Re-Records Devil for Monday Night Football

Country music icon The Charlie Daniels Band have re-recorded a special version of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” for Monday Night Football. The opening song will make its debut next week when the Atlanta Falcons host the Denver Broncos. “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” was originally a 1979 hit for the group, and quickly became one of the best known songs all-genres.

In an interview with ESPN, Charlie shares:

“I had to watch the lyrics real close because I’ve done those same ‘Devil Went Down To Georgia’ lyrics for 33 years.”

Suite Caroline Changes Stage Name To Caroline Kole

You know her as 14 year old Suite Caroline, but now she has a new stage name – Caroline Kole. Caroline announced her stage name change this morning on her Twitter and Facebook pages, and also announced that she officially has her own Ticketmaster page.

Caroline’s big announcement is that she will be opening for country music star and The Voice coach Blake Shelton on August 17th, at 7:00 PM in Indianapolis, IN at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. You can get tickets on Ticketmaster.

At only the young age of 14, Caroline has opened for artists such as Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Blake Shelton and Lifehouse. She has performed live with Sheryl Crow, Pat Benatar, Charlie Daniels and the GoGo´s.

Blake Shelton Reschedules Colorado Date

Country Jam USA and Blake Shelton have just announced that his concert scheduled for June 21st has been officially rescheduled a few days later – to June 24th. All tickets for the original date will be accepted on the new date. Chris Young is now scheduled to headline on the 21st, and Blake will have Justin Moore, Jerrod Niemann, and the Charlie Daniels Band opening for him on the 24th.

Here at Keepin’ it Country, we value songwriting and real country music. Country music has always been about the song writing and story telling, and our next act in our “Ones To Watch” feature is the shining example of that. I had the chance to sit down with THE FARM shortly after their Grand Ole Opry debut. THE FARM is made up of three song writing best friends: Krista Marie, Nick Hoffman (who has been part of Kenny Chesney‘s band for years,) and Damien Horne. The three sat down together in 2010 to write a song, and then, as they share in our interview, the rest became history. Find out exactly how the trio decided they were “all-in” and why we think we’ll be seeing big things from the group over the next few years.
