As we have recently reported, Big Machine recording artist Cassadee Pope‘s debut single, “Wasting All These Tears,” was RIAA certified as Platinum for moving one million units. Achieving Platinum status is a feat in itself, but, if you are familiar with Cassadee, you know that this young artist constantly strives for more in her budding country music career.
Well, this comes as no exception, as Cassadee not only received high honors from RIAA, but also broke a country music record in the process. With Cassadee’s certification, she becomes the first solo female country artist to achieve a Platinum-certified debut single since Taylor Swift‘s 2006 release of “Tim McGraw.”
Congratulations to Cassadee on leaving her footprint on history! You are doing country music proud and are representing female artists beautifully!
Fresh off the heels of Cassadee Pope‘s Top 10 debut country music single, “Wasting All These Tears,” comes her next sure-to-be hit song, “I Wish I Could Break Your Heart,” and its accompanying music video. Cassadee’s sophomore country single shows a different side of the multifaceted young artist who has experienced enormous successes since breaking into the genre.
“I Wish I Could Break Your Heart” is a song about wishing you could get revenge against someone who hurt you, but, because of the love you had for the person, you would never follow through — even though it sure would be nice! The video for this single shows country music fans a completely different side of Cassadee, specifically in the catchy chorus where she channels her rocker roots, lets loose, and sets her feet firmly in her comfort zone.
Fans who have had the pleasure of seeing Cassadee live will recognize the honesty in the performance aspects of the music video, as the high energy, fun-loving Cassadee you see on your screen is the Cassadee you will get in concert. Fans of one of country music’s biggest breakout female artists as of late will also notice (and enjoy) the sneaky smile that spreads across Cassadee’s face as she sings the vengeful lyrics, almost as if she has a secret that she has no intention of sharing. Another standout quality of this music video is the gorgeous artistry, specifically with the glass heart shattering to the touch throughout and the strategically placed lit hearts in the performance sections.
On an album chock full of potential hits, Cassadee and her team got it right with the release of “I Wish I Could Break Your Heart.” We are certain this single will continue Cassadee on her uphill climb to the top of the list of influential females in country music.

Add another tally mark to the list, as Cassadee’s first country single, “Wasting All These Tears” (off her debut solo project, Frame By Frame) has broken into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts, after spending thirty-three weeks on the charts. For children who want to be performers when they are older, it is common to sit and dream the day away, hoping that one day they will play for large crowds. It is typical to sit in an audience and envision themselves on that stage, showcasing their talents for everybody to see. However, the painstaking rule is that the dream often never becomes a reality. West Palm Beach native, Cassadee Pope, is the exception to that rule. As a child, Cassadee attended the South Florida Fair and watched her predecessors perform, hopeful, but never expectant, that she, too, would grace that stage one day. Last night, one of Cassadee’s childhood dreams came to fruition as she stood on that very stage, looking out, rather than looking in.
Cassadee, an artist who should not be pigeonholed into one specific genre of music, is a crossover hit in the flesh who needn’t be defined. What sets Cassadee apart from the rest is that her ability to float seamlessly throughout genres doesn’t impinge upon her audience’s ability to know exactly who she is … and that is a kind-hearted, gracious, talented singer/songwriter with a strong head on her shoulders and the world at her fingertips.
There has been quite a bit of buzz lately about Cassadee Pope joining a large 2014 tour. Assumptions were made, anticipation grew, and today, the announcement came. Cassadee took to Twitter to share her big news:
@CassadeePope: Oh ya know. Just gunna join @TheTimMcGraw for the #SundownHeavenTown Tour! More details coming soon!! :D worth the wait, right?!
Congratulations on the big news, Cassadee! You can catch Tim McGraw, with special guest, Cassadee Pope, in the following cities this year:

Not only has he won three times, but two of his winners have gone on to become two of country’s biggest rising stars. As he prepared to ring in 2014, Blake was joined by his two country ladies, Danielle Bradbery and Cassadee Pope, for a rousing performance of “Boys ‘Round Here.”

Cassadee Pope recently sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss her up and coming country music career. In the article, Cassadee discusses the overwhelming interest of people regarding why Cassadee chose to travel down the country music path, rather than continuing down the path she previously trekked.
For those of you who don’t know, Cassadee was previously involved with a band called Hey Monday, which is best known as a former opening act for Fall Out Boy and Yellowcard, as well as part of the 2010 Warped Tour bill. Now, since her Season 3 win on NBC’s The Voice, Cassadee has been exploring her country music options, ultimately choosing to sign with a major Nashville label (Big Machine) and record a country album (Frame by Frame, due out on October 8, 2013). Cassadee explains to Rolling Stone that her decision to embark on a country music career was personal, as the genre is allowing her to tell stories, get personal, and experience a new-found sense of vulnerability.
