Those of you who follow Jason Aldean and/or Keepin’ It Country on Twitter know that Aldean has been teasing a big announcement as of late. To get fans excited for this big announcement, ten photograph clues were placed on Aldean’s social media pages. Buzz stirred and guesses were free flying, as many began to deduce that Aldean would be taking his 2014 tour back into baseball stadiums across North America.
As it turns out, those fans who synthesized the clues (such as Dustin Diamond, a baseball, and stadium seating) and determined Aldean is performing in stadiums again were correct! On today’s installment of Good Morning America, Aldean announced that he has formed a partnership with Major League Baseball in connection with his 2014 Burn It Down Tour (with special guests Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr). Though the stadium dates have yet to be announced, Aldean’s website released several other tour dates for 2014, which will, presumably, lead up to the stadium portion of the tour.
Click here to see the currently released tour dates on Aldean’s site. Keep checking back here or on our social media, as we will continue to release the Burn It Down Tour information.
Congratulations to Josh Thompson, Show Dog Universal, and Big Machine Records! The country artist, who currently calls Toby Keith’s Show Dog Universal home, just signed an exclusive publishing agreement with Big Machine earlier this week.
Big Machine’s Vice President Mike Molinar said:
“We are proud to welcome Josh Thompson to the Big Machine Music team! We count ourselves among the many in this creative community who are fans of his songwriting and look forward to working with him and his songs.”
Josh himself added:
“As a songwriter, I’ve been at a handful of publishing companies over the years, and I know firsthand that change is good especially when it comes to creativity. The staff at Big Machine Music is top notch, and I’m back working with one of my good friends, Alex Heddle. I’m looking forward to makin’ some noise with this publishing team.”
Are you excited for new music from Josh?
Don’t worry! Kelly Clarkson is still marrying Brandon Blackstock! However, after spending an abundance of time (that this music industry couple just doesn’t have to spare) on wedding planning, Kelly and Brandon made the executive decision to scrap their big wedding plans and simply elope.
Kelly explained to People Magazine that between her Christmas album, partnership with State Farm, Brandon’s responsibilities as Blake Shelton‘s manager, and the couple raising two children (from Brandon’s previous marriage), there was no time to plan such an extravagant event. The couple intends to exchange vows in the presence of a minister and Brandon’s two children, but will be celebrating with their friends and family at their newly built Nashville home.
Kelly’s latest video for her country single, “Tie It Up,” premiered last week. You can check out the wedding-themed video here:
Luke Bryan is unstoppable.
He’s the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year. He’s selling out shows on tour in a matter of minutes. And he also has a second number one album this week with Crash My Party!
Not only is Crash My Party number one on the Billboard 200 chart, it is the biggest selling week by a male country artist since Tim McGraw in 2004. Bryan’s album debuted with nearly 528,000 units sold according to Nielsen SoundScan. McGraw was the last male country artist to sell more albums in a week with 766,000 copies moved for Live Like You Were Dying.
Luke had this to share via his website in response to the major news:
I’ve never been this excited about an album that I have put out, and the response I have gotten is really humbling and mind-blowing to me. I am lucky to have some of the best fans in the world, and I am happy to see them enjoying this album as much as I do. I’m just so thankful for my fans and for Country radio for the amazing support.
Crash My Party follows the country superstar’s previous 2013 chart-topper, Spring Break . . . Here to Party, and his double-Platinum 2011 Tailgates & Tanlines.
The album’s title track is a multi-week number one hit! “Crash My Party” recently set a Billboard record as the largest one-week audience since 2005 with 45.5 million listeners and has sold 1.2 million downloads. Bryan’s new single, “That’s My Kinda Night,” is also the highest-debuting single of his career.
It’s safe to say that Luke Bryan’s career is going pretty well.
Congratulations to Luke on all of his success! We are very happy for you!
Luke is currently on the road with Thompson Square and Florida Georgia Line for his Dirt Road Diaries Tour. Several shows are sold out! For info and tour dates, visit http://win.lukebryan.com.

Congratulations to Scott Borchetta and the whole team at Big Machine Label Group! A recent story by Forbes Magazine has named the Nashville powerhouse the hottest country music label. The label group is home to superstars like Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry, Martina McBride, Eli Young Band, and the recently acquired Laura Bell Bundy.
Part of the article says:
“Big Machine is big business. It’s a private company, which means that its financials aren’t open to the public. But Forbes estimates that the label pulls in revenues in the high eight-figures, a sum Borchetta didn’t deny. With margins in excess of 20% — far higher in certain years — he says the company’s value could easily be nine figures. $200 million, anybody? ‘There are people who would buy it for that’ says Borchetta. ‘But it’s not for sale’.”

Little Big Town recently played a special benefit show in their hometown of Franklin, Tennessee for a cause close to their hearts. The country group raised over $115,000 for Africa with a non-profit organization called “Blood: Water Mission.” The organization works to get communities to work together to fight against HIV/AIDS and water shortages in Africa. It was formed and created by Christian music group Jars of Clay and Jena Nardell with only $1,000.
Little Big Town has been previously involved with “Blood: Water Mission”. It was the second time the group raised money for the non-profit. Attendees at their concert included Rascal Flatts‘ guitarist Joe Don Rooney, Governor Bill Haslam, Tennessee Titans player Jake Locker, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit, and more with a packed crowd.
