VIDEO: John Fogerty’s Surprise Performance With The Pistol Annies

Looks like Taylor Swift isn’t the only country music star surprising her fans by bringing out superstars. The Pistol Annies had their second-ever headlining show last night at the House Of Blues, and the legendary John Fogerty came out to sing “Bad Moon Rising” with the trio. Just by looking at Miranda Lambert‘s face throughout the performance, you can see the girls were just as excited as the fans. Watch the video below and tell us who you’d love to sing with the trio:

Kelly Clarkson Joins The Pistol Annies

Kelly Clarkson.

Well… not exactly. Miranda Lambert offered Kelly Clarkson the title of honorary Annie this afternoon on Twitter. The Pistol Annies have their first ever headlining show as a trio tonight at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas. Kelly, who was invited to the Lambert-Shelton wedding earlier this year, was promoting the show on her Twitter page tonight to her fans.

“@miranda_lambert: @kelly_clarkson: @PistolAnnies good luck tonight! I can’t wait to see y’alls show one day!” we want u to come see us. Ur an honorary Annie!”

The Pistol Annies are made up of best friends Miranda “Lone Star Annie” Lambert, Ashley “Hippie Annie” Monroe and Angaleena “Holler Annie” Presley. If Kelly were to join the group, what would you think her nickname should be?

The Pistol Annies Are Back In The Studio

Pistol Annies.

The Pistol Annies may have only just recently released their debut album as a trio, “Hell On Heels,” but that doesn’t mean that the girls aren’t ready for some new music for fans. I’m not sure if it’s another Annies album, or if they’re recording a track for a compilation album somewhere, but member Angaleena Presley Tweeted yesterday that they were in the studio with producer T Bone Burnett. His past work includes credit in the “Walk The Line” sound track.

The girls then hopped on to their official Pistol Annies Twitter account to brag about it a little more. Any guesses what the three hell raisers are up to now? Do you think a second album is in the works already, or are they lending their voices to someone else’s album?

The Pistol Annies are setting a Bad Example

The Pistol Annies are giving their fans a chance to win a special prize pack from the trio – just by listening to all five of the preview songs being streamed this week. Their debut album as a group, “Hell on Heels” is due out August 23rd, and to celebrate that milestone the three girls: Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley will be letting sites stream a new song everyday for fans. It’s a scavenger hunt where fans can earn five badges with each song they listen to. If you get all five badges, you’re in to win the prize which includes a private meet and greet with the trio.

Today’s song is “Bad Example” which you can hear on Entertainment Weekly’s website. It’s a great little flashback to the days of Loretta Lynn and classic country. What started out as a fun side project for Miranda is turning into a major hit. If the rest of the album tracks are anything like this, the album will be a must-buy for any country music fan.

Pistol Annies cancelling shows

Country music all-girls trio Pistol Annies have cancelled all upcoming shows due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The group, which features Angaleena Presley “Holler Annie,” Ashley Monroe “Hippie Annie,” and Miranda Lambert “Lone Star Annie,” had their promoter send a one-sentence e-mail to the venues.

The e-mail said:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Pistol Annies are unable to appear on any dates in June but Miranda Lambert will perform instead.”

Miranda will perform solo instead at all Annies scheduled dates in June. The trio have been busy promoting the debut single “Hush Hush” from their sophomore album “Annie Up.” No other information is available at this time as to why all the dates have been cancelled.  There are NO dates listed on the Pistol Annies website at this time, but fans still wanting to catch Miranda Lambert in their spot can check out Miranda’s tour page to see when she’ll be playing all month long. The dates include sold-out Annies dates.

Ashley Monroe has released her own solo work this year on Warner Music Nashville. “Like A Rose” is her return to a major recording label, and she’ll be hitting the road as a solo artist opening up for Hunter Hayes.

What do you think is going on, country fans? Are you disappointed to see just Miranda at one of the Pistol Annies dates you had tickets to?
