The Country Music Hall Of Fame® And Museum’s All For The Hall Fundraiser Returns To Los Angeles On March 4

On March 4th, the Nokia Theater will host the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum’s All for the Hall fundraiser, making it the first time this event has been held in Los Angeles in three years.

“California, with its rich country music history, has proven to be a supremely appropriate and welcoming location for this event,” said Museum Director Kyle Young. “In fact, some of the state’s contributions to our genre are the subject of our very popular limited-engagement exhibition, The Bakersfield Sound: Buck Owens, Merle Haggard and California Country, whose run we’ve extended through the end of 2014. Los Angeles has always given our All for the Hall event a very warm welcome, and we look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones in March.”

This year’s fundraiser will be hosted by actress/singer/film producer Rita Wilson, and feature performances by Country Music Hall of Fame members Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris. Joining them will be Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Heart and Grammy Award-winning artist Jason Mraz.

Exclusive Interview: Introducing Ryan Beaver

For those not yet familiar with Ryan Beaver, we want to change that for you. The Texan musician/singer-songwriter has released two albums independently and built quite the loyal following in and around his home state. In our exclusive interview, we discuss his inspirations, his recent move to Nashville, George Strait and more.

KIC: For those readers who may be ‘meeting’ you for the first time in this blog, can you give us a little bit of a back story as to how you began performing?

RB: I’ve always had a love affair for music, songs, instruments, & musicians. It began very young as my Mother played piano and my Father played his records. It was always a special thing for me that developed over time. Eventually I couldn’t stop thinking about it day in and out and began to write songs. It’s like an infectious disease. Once you catch it, there is no cure.

KIC: You’ve released two albums independently, with the most recent coming out in 2011. What’s next for you?

RB: A third album is in the works. I should be recording it this fall and will be looking forward to its release. I’ll give it everything I have and it still won’t feel done. That’s just how I am. I can’t wait to share my new songs and stories with the fans of what I do. I also can’t believe how lucky I am to be calling this a job.

Exclusive: Interview with Blu Sanders

You might have heard of Eli Young Band. Or Kelly Clarkson. Or One Tree Hill. If you have heard of any of these, chances are you have met Blu Sanders and have loved Blu Sanders. Lisa Matassa Releases Somebody’s Baby Video

lisa matassa.

Country music singer Lisa Matassa released her brand new music video “Somebody’s Baby” exclusively to AOL’s The Boot earlier this week. The video, which was directed by Traci Goudie (Merle Haggard, Hunter Hayes, Emmylou Harris, and Patty Griffin), was filmed on a Watertown, Tennessee farm with actual family footage from Lisa’s childhood through to her marriage. Check out the official music video at The Boot here.

About the song, Lisa shares:

“It’s a song about connections. It immediately resonated with me.  As a mom of two teenagers who are college-bound, I know that regardless of their age or where they go in life, they will always be my ‘babies.’  I hope that when folks hear this song it makes them think of their special ‘baby.’”

“Somebody’s Baby” was released to radio last month (It Is What It Is Records / Nine North Records), and Lisa’s 500,000-plus social media connections are thrilled with the driving new single.  Written by Kelly Archer, Casey Koesel and Justin Weaver, the edgy rocker is the first release from Matassa’s upcoming EP of the same name.

With over 2.6 million previous YouTube video views and two #1 videos on (including “Me Time”), Lisa is no stranger to Country audiences.  She has opened shows for Dierks Bentley, Leann Rimes, Eric Church, Lee Brice and Ronnie Dunn.

Country rocker Eric Church will be part of a stellar line-up celebrating the music of Levon Helm this October. The special tribute concert “Love For Levon” will take place on October 2nd at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It’s a night that means something important to Eric, who explains:

“I can’t possibly overstate what Levon Helm meant to my music or my life.  He was a giant.  A man among boys.  I miss him personally, but that pales in comparison to how much music will miss his presence.”

The event will also feature collaborations and performances by Gregg Allman, Dierks Bentley, Marc Cohn, Patty Griffin, Warren Haynes, John Hiatt, Bruce Hornsby, Jorma Kaukonen, Ray LaMontagne, John Mayer, Robert Randolph, Mavis Staples, Joe Walsh, Lucinda Williams, My Morning Jacket, The Levon Helm Band and many more.

Tickets for the public will go on-sale on Wednesday, August 29th at 11 am EST on Ticketmaster. Proceeds from the event will benefit Levon’s estate and his Midnight Ramble concerts.

Eric will kick off the new leg of his “Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour” on September 13th in Amhurst, MA. His headlining arena tour will feature special guests Kip Moore and Justin Moore.

Top 10 Live Tracks (2000 – Now)

Kenny Chesney. photo credit: iheartradio

There’s nothing we here at Keepin’ It Country love more than live music, so it only made sense to put together a list of some of our favorite live tracks to share with you all, our lovely readers! This particular list is made up of only live tracks from 2000 – 2012, mostly because trying to go through the entire live history of country music turned out to be a bit daunting. Also, all tracks in consideration had to have been released commercially at some point, so no bootlegs here! (Though that could easily be another list.)

Now that the fine print is out of the way, check out our picks below!

10. Love & Theft – “Don’t Wake Me” – Live in Savannah EP

Love & Theft’s performance of “Don’t Wake Me,” off of the band’s Live in Savannah EP, highlights everything that’s great about the group. Three (now two) great looking guys singing perfect harmonies on killer pop-country songs. Any cut from this album could have made our list, but this was a personal favorite. The band gained certain notoriety when Taylor Swift wrote “Hey Stephen” about member Stephen Barker Liles, but if Love & Theft can keep their moment going with live shows like this one there’s a good chance they’ll give Rascal Flatts a run for their money in a few years.

9. Kenny Chesney – “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy – Live Those Songs Again

Kenny Chesney has long ruled the country music touring circuit; one of the few acts in any genre that can consistently sell out stadiums, so it should be no surprise that he made our list. “Tractor” is a reminder of exactly what makes Kenny so fun to see live. It’s a fun summertime party with the best soundtrack.

Check out the rest of the list after the jump!
