In case you were counting, June 3rd is 85 days away. That means we only have to wait 85 more days for new music from Miranda Lambert, as her highly-anticipated album, Platinum, hits stores that day. It may seem like a ways away, but the album will be Miranda’s fifth and comes over two and a half years after her last record.
“From the day you kinda go I need to start looking for songs and writing songs, it feels like no matter how much time you have, you’re rushed,” Lambert said to ABC NEWS. “And so I didn’t want to rush it at all. To me it’s all about timing and making sure that you can feel like you can finally sit there and go, OK, the album’s done, and never have a moment where you go, I wish we could change that or I wish we had a different song.”
The album will feature 16 new tracks, and continue her expansion across genre and subject matters. To Lambert, it’s a collection of tracks that reflect her current life, as fans have already heard on the first-single “Automatic.” Country fans are also in for a girl-power treat when Lambert pairs with fellow blonde bombshell, Carrie Underwood, on “Something Bad.”
“We’re really rocking in country music and we’re coming together as a force,” Lambert says of the duet.. “To me, like, if you’re sitting on the front row, you might want to scoot back. It’s a force. It just feels exciting to me. I’m ready to rock.”
It’s the moment Miranda Lambert fans have been waiting for! We’re so excited to bring you her new single, “Automatic,” courtesy of iHeartRadio. The track is the first single from her forthcoming album, to be released later this year. It was co-written by Miranda, Nicolle Galyon and Natalie Hemby.
Miranda Lambert will join Aldean for select baseball stadium dates in Cleveland (July 18), Cincinnati (July 19), and Pittsburgh (July 26) this summer.
The stars announced the news through a series of humorous tweets. When Aldean asked for another player for his wiffle ball team, Lambert was quick to step up to the plate. She then graciously accepted Aldean’s invitation to play some songs while she is there as well.
The conversation ended with both artists expressing their excitement:
@Jason_Aldean: Cool. It’s official. @mirandalambert is joining us @Indians @CincinnatiReds @Pirates – More info at jasonaldean.com #BurnItDownTour
@mirandalambert: Can’t wait to party with @Jason_Aldean on the #BurnItDownTour! I’m coming for ya @Indians @CincinnatiReds @Pirates

“‘Automatic’ is a song about the good life,” said Miranda. “It’s about slowing down, taking a breath and remembering what it’s like to live life a little more simply. It’s not about going back, but reminiscing about what it was like to hang laundry on the line and wait for it to dry and my dad teaching me how to drive my ’55 Chevy that I still have but don’t drive nearly enough,” she said. “The song brings back good memories and it reminds me to take a deep breath and to remember that getting there is half the fun.”
“Automatic” is the debut single from Miranda’s fifth album, which will be released later this year. “It’s always exciting and little bit nerve-wracking to release a new album,” said Miranda. “We’ve been writing and recording since last summer and I’m ready for the fans to hear my new music.”
Ladies, get excited. One of our most beloved country girls now has her own shoe line!
The footwear – Miranda – by Miranda Lambert just launched last week. According to the description on her official website, “The shoes are just like Miranda – feisty, sexy, confident – and reflects what makes us love Miranda, bold beyond all expectations with just the right combination of edgy and feminine.” I think that perfectly sums up some of our favorite things about Ms. Ran.
The shoes and boots can be found at select DSW stores and online at DSW.com. They also are available at select Shoe Dept. and Shoe Dept. Encore stores, as well as online at shoedept.com and showdeptencore.com.
We here at KIC are excited about the new Miranda line! I think I need some new boots. Hey Santa, can you come back and bring me a pair?!
Congratulations to Miranda on her new venture!

Miranda Lambert is back to mentor on The Voice next season, but not for the team you may think.
That’s right… Lambert will not be with her hubby, Blake Shelton, but with Team Shakira as reported by US Weekly.
Shakira and Usher will return to join Blake and Adam for the next run. We expect it to be a great competition as always, and probably a lot of fun trash-talking for the Lambert-Shelton household.
The current season is down to the Top 8 contestants, and airs on Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
Season 6 will begin Spring 2014!
George Strait will play his final concert June 7, 2014 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The CMA Entertainer of the Year’s The Cowboy Rides Away Tour 2014 will ride away with style, for a king. The show will feature an all-star lineup of guest artists (performing three songs each) including Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Lee Ann Womack.
Additionally, the opening act for Strait’s final concert will be the “Kings of Texas Swing” and six-time Grammy Award-winning group, Asleep At The Wheel.
Tickets for the highly-anticipated concert will go on sale to the public Friday, December 6 at 10:00 AM CST and can be purchased via Strait’s official website here.
While this is Strait’s final concert tour, he will continue to record new music with MCA Records and will perform select dates across the country after the tour has wrapped. For more information, please visit www.georgestrait.com.
You take Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert, give them a duet, and you get a dream collaboration.
Written by Nicolle Galyon, Jimmy Robbins, and Jon Nite, “We Were Us” is one of the best songs out right now and we love it.
The duet seems to be years in the making. Lambert opened for Urban on his tour back in 2005 when she was just starting out. Since then, Urban has been waiting for the perfect song to sing with Lambert. “We Were Us” was it.
“When I heard ‘We Were Us,’ it was instant,” Urban told People magazine. “I had two thoughts. The first [was] ”This is that song’ and the second – ‘Man, I sure hope she says yes!’ ”
The “We Were Us” music video premiered on Friday evening via Urban’s Facebook page. The video was filmed in front of a live audience at Edna’s neighborhood bar in Oklahoma City. Check it out below!
It’s no secret… We have a long-time crush on Blake Shelton that we do not see fading anytime soon.
Just when we thought we could not love Blake Shelton more, however, we read yet another super sweet thing about him. His better half, Miranda Lambert, shared with People Magazine (you can read the whole article here) this bit of info:
“He [Blake] said, ‘I have never had a problem with any way you look at any point – you are beautiful to me at any size and every size,’ ” she [Miranda] explained.
Can we get a collective “Aww!” right now?
Guys… take notes! These are the kinds of things that make us girls very happy.
We’re also taking applications for Blake Shelton clones.
Our friends, 2Steel Girls (Allison & Krystal Steel), posted their cover of Miranda Lambert’s “Baggage Claim” today and we wanted to share it with you.
The girls are best known from The Voice: Season 3 where they were a part of Team Blake.
Allison and Krystal also joined us earlier this year as part of our “Keepin’ It Country Presents” Stageit series. They gave us a great show and were so sweet and fun!
Their album Train Wreck is available now. For more information, visit: http://2steelgirls.com/
