CMT Music Awards Nominations Announced
Earlier today, the nominations for the 2013 CMT Music Awards were revealed. With Luke Bryan and Miranda Lambert leading with four nominations each, as well as Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Florida Georgia Line and Rascal Flatts following with three a piece, the show is sure to be a good one! Fan voting is now available at www.cmt.com through Sunday, June 2nd at midnight EST.
The show, which will be hosted by Jason and actress Kristen Bell, will air LIVE from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, June 5th at 8PM EST.

Nominees were announced earlier today for the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The show will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7th at 8PM EST on CBS. Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan are set to co-host the ceremony.

Tim McGraw’s New Album Release
Country megastar, Tim McGraw‘s, highly anticipated Big Machine Records’ debut, Two Lanes of Freedom, is set to drop on February 5th. The multi-Grammy Award winner will be busy promoting his big release with coast to coast performances. McGraw will be kicking off this promo run by performing on location at the Super Bowl in New Orleans, which will air on Good Morning America on February 1st.

Tim McGraw to headline 30-city tour
Country Music Icon Tim McGraw announced today that his TWO LANES OF FREEDOM 2013 TOUR, presented by Pennzoil, will crank up this summer in Birmingham, AL on May 2 and continue on to 30 cities through July. The U.S. trek, will also feature emerging artists Brantley Gilbert and Love and Theft.
McGraw has partnered with Tumblr to create the “Fanticipation” program which will allow fans, for the first time ever, to announce through Tumblr when tickets will be available in their own hometown. Beginning in early February, McGraw will call a fan in each market who is selected to participate in “Fanticipation” and personally tip them off, so they can share the information with their friends and other McGraw fans first. After more than two decades on the road, McGraw’s ability to entertain and command a crowd continues to be a defining characteristic of both his artistry and superstar status. Earlier this year the Tampa Tribune described McGraw’s live show as “effortless” while the Atlanta Journal Constitution remarked “he’s so casually cool onstage” and OC Weekly said “It’s a bold claim, but McGraw could and should be poised to reign as king of country music…”
”This album marks a new sense of excitement and artistic freedom for me, and I really wanted to extend that same feeling to the tour and create a cool vibe for the fans,” explains McGraw. “Let’s leave anything that might be weighing us down out in the parking lot and spend a few hours together feeling alive and free. We’ve started working up new songs from the album, and there’s some really cool stuff we’ll be able to pull out this summer. My band is just kick-ass…there’s nothing these guys can’t play! Miranda Lambert fills in for Lady Antebellum at Country Fest
Miranda Lambert is helping out some friends in need next year, replacing Lady Antebellum‘s headlining date at Country Fest in Wisconsin. The superstar trio were forced to cancel dates next year because member Hillary Scott is expecting her first baby. Miranda will headline the festival alongside Toby Keith and Jason Aldean.
Miranda is the first headliner for the four-day festival on Thursday, June 27th. It’s the only solo tour stop in June 2013 for Miranda.. She’l be hitting the road with the Pistol Annies for most of the Summer.
“We could not be more excited to announce Miranda Lambert as a Headliner for Country Fest ‘13!” says Country Fest. “She not only puts on the most entertaining and high energy show for her fans, she is adding this solo date to her previously scheduled tour dates with Pistol Annies to join the Country Fest Family here in Cadott. Jake Owen cancels shows due to flu
One of country music’s brightest stars was forced to deliver some bad news to fans on Twitter yesterday. “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” singer Jake Owen sent out an apologetic message to fans after having to cancel his Houston, Texas concert due to the flu.
Jake said:
Sorry to my Houston friends… I’m unfortunately gonna miss you tonight. Laid up with the flu. I’ll make it up to ya. You’ve got my word.
Jake’s next tour date is tomorrow night in Vero Beach, Florida. It’s Jake’s annual concert to benefit the Jake Owen Foundation, and the closing night of “CMT On Tour: Jake Owen – The Summer Never Ends” with friends Love & Theft and Florida-Georgia Line. REVIEW: Chad Brownlee & Dallas Smith in Ottawa
Last night (11/05), Canadian singers Dallas Smith and Chad Brownlee performed one heck of a show in Ottawa. What a treat! This country girl has seen too many shows to count from all different genres. But this particular show stood out and will be one I’ll remember for quite some time.
To review this show in just a few paragraphs seems unjust. In fact, it was difficult to take notes because I found myself just wanting to enjoy the show. With that being said, there were definitely many highlights of the show that are worth noting.
