LoCash Cowboys Fiddle Player Passes Away

LoCash Cowboys.

Our thoughts are with the family, friends and fans of the LoCash Cowboys today after long-time fiddle player Ryan “Troop” Jones passed away yesterday. He had been with the band since 2005, and took on the challenge of playing quite a few instruments for the group including the mandolin, fiddle, and acoustic guitar. He was admitted to hospital earlier this year with a serious ulcer that later lead to contracting pneumonia.

“Today is a sad day in the Locash world. We lost Ryan “Troop” Jones…our Brother & our Best Friend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Troop will live forever in our hearts.”

No funeral plans have yet been announced.

Man vs Food: LoCash Cowboys Edition

LoCash Cowboys.

The LoCash Cowboys are tackling a 72-ounce steak in an eating challenge with Travel Channel. Filmed in March at Rooster’s Texas Style BBQ in Nashville, the episode is set to air on the new series “Man vs. Food Nation.” The duo will watch the episode with the public live at Rooster’s in Nashville when it airs on Wednesday, June 8th at 8 pm CST.

“It was a big steak but even bigger fun doing this challenge,” said LoCash’s Preston Brust.

LoCash’s Chris Lucas added, “Adam and the crew were absolutely great to work with and hang around. We had a blast.”

The LoCash Cowboys will also participate in the CMA Music Festival Kick-off Parade on June 8th and will also perform at the Musician’s On Call benefit held at the Hard Rock Cafe on June 9th.

Bus trouble can’t stop LoCash from performing

LoCash Cowboys.

Have you ever had one of those days where nothing seemed to go right? The LoCash Cowboys probably felt that way last weekend. They were scheduled to play in Eau Claire, Wisconsin for Country Jam USA last Saturday. The night before after a show, their bus wouldn’t start and they didn’t get it fixed and get going until that Saturday morning. After finding a charter plane in Madison, WI, they manged to fly to Eau Claire and get to the stage at Country Jam at 4:59pm. But they found out that the stage manager shut the stage down due to storms coming in. The fans were upset that LoCash wouldn’t be able to perform on the main stage but Zac Brown of the Zac Brown Band got an idea.

Colt Ford Releases Declaration of Independence TODAY!

Colt Ford.

Country music’s resident rapper, Colt Ford, released his brand new album “Declaration of Independence” to stores nationwide TODAY. The brand new studio album features collaborations with Jason Aldean, Wayna Morris of Boys II Men, Kix Brooks, Montgomery Gentry, Jake Owen, Darius Rucker, and many more country stars. The record was produced by Dan Huff (Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban), along with long-time collaborator Shannon “Fat Shan” Houchins.

“This album is very real and honest and by far the best record I’ve ever made,” Colt says with pride.  “The last two records—I stand up and cheer for them—but I tried to make a lot of people happy on the last two records and I took the edge off of it. On this record I put the edge back on there.”

“Declaration of Independence” is being released on Colt’s own Average Joe’s Entertainment. Over his career so far, Colt has already sold more than one million albums and over three million downloads of his songs. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see those numbers quickly rise with the guest stars lending their talents to Colt’s album. Check out the official track listing of Colt’s new album below and let us know what is your favorite country collaboration of all-time:
