Kellie Pickler is the new Dancing With The Stars champion!
Country’s sweetheart and her partner, Derek Hough, took home the Mirror Ball Trophy last night. The pair wowed us all season, and their performances were near perfection on Monday. Their freestyle dance was absolutely stunning and had the ballroom in tears. If you missed it, check out the video below. It’s probably the best dance ever on Dancing With The Stars.
We know Kellie is amazingly talented when it comes to music, but she also has the talent when it comes to dancing. The judges even compared her to Derek’s sister and superstar dancer/country singer, Julianne Hough, during the finale. She truly looked like a professional out on the floor.
On top of her top-notch dancing skills, the genuine personality and classiness that Kellie brings to everything she does was clearly evident every week. People fell in love with her on American Idol years ago, and they got to fall in love with her all over again on Dancing With The Stars.
Congratulations to Kellie and Derek! We’ve always been Team Pickler. The win was very well deserved and we are so happy for you.
While we are at it, let’s take a look at some of our other favorite Pickler dances this season.
Jazz Routine – Week 2:
Rumba – Week 4 with special appearance by Kellie’s husband and songwriter, Kyle Jacobs:
Former country singer Julianne Hough was a victim of a pretty serious car theft in Los Angeles on Friday night. The singer/actress/dancer left $100,000 worth of jewelry in her Mercedes at a Hollywood apartment complex while visiting a friend. When she came back to the lot afterwards, everything was missing… and what’s worse is that the three pricey pieces of jewelry were a gift from her boyfriend, Ryan Seacrest. Included in the theft was a $50,000 watch, reports TMZ.
There were no signs of visible forced entry on the scene, so its possible that she left her car unlocked. The “That Song In My Head” singer had found the car door left wide open.
The always adorable and fun, Pickler, will be paired with Derek Hough, the brother of another country sweetheart, Julianne Hough. Pickler is the first past American Idol contestant to compete on the show.
Meanwhile, vocal powerhouse and 5-time Grammy winner, Judd, will be partnered with Tony Dovolani.
It should be an entertaining season for country music fans. Both pairs are a great match, and I can’t wait to watch!
Katie Armiger, who has become one of the biggest and brightest independent female artists in country music today, released her much anticipated fourth studio album “Fall Into Me” on Cold River Records yesterday. The rave reviews for the album, in which Katie had a hand in writing all 14 tracks, have been rolling in dubbing it her best yet. “Fall Into Me” features Katie’s current single “Better In A Black Dress,” which is her first Top 40 hit single and continues to climb the charts. Tune into GAC Daily Countdown all this week at 5pm CST (check local listings) to check out exclusive performances from Katie’s album release party in Nashville.
“Fall Into Me” is a deeply personal album for Katie that takes listeners on a journey through one of the most poignant relationships she has experienced in her young life. It is clear with every note on “Fall Into Me” that Katie has grown, not only as an artist and songwriter, but as a woman as well. Katie worked with several well-known songwriters including Blair Daly (Faith Hill, Keith Urban, and Tim McGraw), Joe West (Julianne Hough, Toby Keith, and Jimmy Wayne), Bruce Wallace (Dierks Bentley, Trace Adkins, and Montgomery Gentry), and Skid Mills (Saving Abel, Sister Hazel).
Country music beauties Kellie Pickler, Taylor Swift, and Julianne Hough have made Maxim magazine’s 2012 Hot 100 Women list. They’re the only country stars to make the list, but are representing pretty well with the reader votes: Taylor ranks in at number 26, Kellie at number 72, and Julianne at number 47. They beat out Pippa Middleton, Nicki Minaj, Nina Dobrev and more. Supermodel Bar Refaeli took the number one spot. See the full list here on Maxim’s site.
Do you agree with the rankings? Who do you think is country music’s hottest woman?
Broadway’s hit musical, Rock of Ages, is slated to hit theaters nationwide in June 2012, and country sweetheart, Julianne Hough, stars as the female lead. Hough will play opposite Diego Gonzalez Boneta, who is best known for his role on “Pretty Little Liars.” The all-star cast also includes Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, Mary J. Blige, ”Watchmen” actress Malin Akerman, and “Breaking Bad” actor Bryan Cranston.
Rock of Ages is one of my very favorite Broadway shows, and I cannot wait for the movie especially with Hough in the starring role!

Julianne Hough has been absent from the country music scene from some time now, as well as the “Dancing With the Stars” stage. The last time she was on the stage was with now ex-boyfriend Chuck Wicks in the Spring of 2009. She did make a re-appearance to DWTS last week during the show’s Movie Soundtrack week, dancing to the title track of her new movie while Blake Shelton performed it. The last music we heard from her was also in 2009 when she toured with George Strait. That same year, she also won her very first ACM Award. With an absence of any new music recently, as well as her new-found success in the world of film, fans have been left wondering whether or not Julianne is finished with her singing career. While promoting her new movie, Footloose, earlier this month, Julianne revealed that her sophomore country album has actually been completed for quite a while.
The Band Perry represented country music for the second week on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” last night. The sibling trio performed “If I Die Young.” You can watch the performance HERE around the 22 minute mark from the live results show last night.
Blake Shelton and Julianne Hough both represented country music last week on the program with a performance of “Footloose.”
The Band Perry have been announced as one of the additional performers at the Country Music Association (CMA) awards November 9th in Nashville.
Julianne Hough has been making the rounds to promote her movie, Footloose, which is in theaters this Friday, October 14th. Make sure you catch Julianne later on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno!
Also, do not forget to set your DVRs for Dancing With The Stars tomorrow night. Hough will return to her old stomping ground to take the stage to dance with Footloose co-star Kenny Wormald as Blake Shelton performs his version of the classic song “Footloose.” Julianne is also slated to perform a number with her brother and Dancing With The Stars stand-out, Derek Hough.
