Congratulations to Josh Thompson, Show Dog Universal, and Big Machine Records! The country artist, who currently calls Toby Keith’s Show Dog Universal home, just signed an exclusive publishing agreement with Big Machine earlier this week.

Big Machine’s Vice President Mike Molinar said:

“We are proud to welcome Josh Thompson to the Big Machine Music team! We count ourselves among the many in this creative community who are fans of his songwriting and look forward to working with him and his songs.”

Josh himself added:

“As a songwriter, I’ve been at a handful of publishing companies over the years, and I know firsthand that change is good especially when it comes to creativity. The staff at Big Machine Music is top notch, and I’m back working with one of my good friends, Alex Heddle. I’m looking forward to makin’ some noise with this publishing team.”

Congratulations to Josh Thompson and the team at Show Dog-Universal! They announced earlier this week that Josh has been signed to Toby Keith‘s label. The country music singer split ways with his home of three years at Sony Music Nashville earlier this year. While there’s no news yet on a new single or album with his new label, we’re sure he’ll be hard at work soon! It’s an exclusive recording contract with the label, who currently has a roster of Toby, Jessie James, Trace Adkins, J.T. Hodges, and Rose Falcon.

Josh’s new website is currently under construction. His last single released with Sony was “Comin’ Around.”

Country artist Josh Thompson‘s tour bus was involved in an accident before his show Sunday night. His bus hit the guardrail on an Arkansas highway on his way to the show. No one was injured in the accident, and he still managed to make it on time to his show.

Josh shared the news on Twitter, saying:

“Was involved in a small bus accident this morning, everyone’s ok and we’re on a new not so broken bus headed to Little Rock.”

Josh’s bus is the latest of multiple bus incidents in 2012 with country artists. Jerrod Niemann, Lee Brice, Joe Diffie, and Chris Young‘s buses have all caught on fire; while Bucky Covington and Justin Moore‘s buses have been involved in accidents.

Country music singer Josh Thompson has officially parted ways with RCA Nashville. He was signed to sister label Columbia Nashville but was moved to the RCA branch of Sony Music Nashville when the label underwent some restructuring earlier this year. He released his debut album “Way Out Here” on Columbia in 2010, which produced hit singles “Beer On The Table” and “Won’t Be Lonely Long.” Josh was to release his sophomore album “Change” on the label later this year, but his lead single “Comin’ Around” was pulled from radio before his exit from the label.

This was his last Twitter update on his album:

Josh is the second artist to leave from the Sony Music Nashville branches this month; Kellie Pickler announced her split from the label and opened up about it in a recent interview.

Josh was announced as the NRA Country Artist of the Month for July earlier this month.

During that time I gained a deep appreciation for our beautiful land and freedom in this country. I’m eternally grateful to those who fight to protect that freedom every day. When I’m not making music, my favorite place to be is way out in the country surrounded by open fields, blue skies and fresh air. I am Josh Thompson and I am NRA Country.”

As part of his NRA Country promotion, Josh is giving fans a special behind-the-scenes look at Josh at his NRA Country photoshoot, on his bus, and on the road. Josh Thompson is getting ready to release the debut single from his second album on RCA Records, due out next year. The single, titled “Comin’ Around,” is a co-write by Josh with Kendell Marvel and Rodney Clawson about growing up and wanting to go back to the place you came from. The track was just sent out to country radio, and fans can start requesting it right now!

“For me, the point of this song is to be able to look back and see how you’ve grown and where you’re going,” says Josh.  “It’s part of finding that line where you go, ‘OK, it’s time to get my life together.’  I’ve definitely had moments like that in my life, and think my fans will be able to relate to that.”

Josh is currently in the studio doing a few last minute touches to his upcoming album, due out early 2012. He wrote every song on the record. He’s currently out on the road with Luke Bryan, with the 20-city tour coming to a close this weekend.
